  • Not Behd at all!

  • Bada Bing!

  • Good to see 4060 laptop prices coming down, HODL for EOFY sale!
Is the 7535HS a good CPU?

  • Wouldn't this be better? https://www.scorptec.com.au/product/laptops-&-notebooks/gami…

Thin laptop, bit cheaper, and not ASUS (They've been really bad with warranties lately.)

Low end MSI never will be better …

  • Not too shabby, people can be at peace with the 100% sRGB lol at least lol.

  • Not Behd

  • They should also release A16 with 4060 too

  • Not too Behd

  • Got the 2021 version of the Asus TUF Gaming A15 laptop (FA506QM model).

It's quite a good gaming laptop that I still use to this day. The only downsides I have with it was the faulty MediaTek Wi-Fi card that came with it that kept losing Wi-Fi connection, which I replaced with an Intel AX210 Wi-Fi card and the plastic chassis is quite fragile and easy to break as I had to replace the bottom case a few times.

    • the plastic chassis is quite fragile and easy to break as I had to replace the bottom case a few times.

Isn't that supposed to be the point of the TUF range; that it's, you know, tough??

Also have a 2021 version of the TUF A15 (506QR - 3070, 16gb ram, 512gb ssd). Have upgraded the ram to 32gb and upgraded and re-upgraded the ssd's multiple times (got a cheaper ssd as the secondary drive, then replaced that one…. and replaced the original ssd as I was paranoid it was on its way out). It has served me well - but I've had an eye on the future over the last 12 months.

Was looking at buying a replacement TUF A15 (may as well stick with a winning formula - for myself.. I know the ASUS range can be a lottery sometimes with some faulty motherboards etc) last year when I saw similar price drops of $2700-$3000 laptops being sold for $1200-$1600. Decided not to as I figured the 2023 range would be around the same price range a year later…. and here we are lol. That said I did buy an ASUS Vivobook back in July (thus the TUF is used for gaming, the Vivobook used for general tasks).

But the TUF is a great laptop, haven't had the issues with the case that others have. But then I'm super careful handling it (well except when opening it up, so I guess I'm lucky that I haven't snapped the lower cover when unscrewing it lol).

I've been seeing the 2023 TUF prices drop a bit over the last month. The 2024 version is slowly popping up at places. I almost purchased a 2023 version a few weeks ago, decided against it (figured if I was going to buy a new one, I'd either pounce on the 2024 version sometime this year… or wait until April/May next year for the next price drop).

I've told the story on ozb before, I was eying off a gaming laptop early 2021….on the day I was actually close to buying the 2020 TUF A15 (even with the cooling issues). Saw that the 2021 version was out, and I ended up spending the extra money and purchased it……………… from Harvey Norman of all places (funny thing is that it was cheaper at HN compared to other proper pc stores).

    Good soize

Five months after this incident related to a similar Asus TUF A15, I’m still in recovery. I’m not sure if I can even look at another TUF A15 lol

    • Yeah still got PTSD and don't want history to repeat again …

  • Can this do 4k gaming in general?

Some 4k gaming benchmarks on here for the 4060 laptop graphics - will absolutely depend on your definition of playable, you're likely looking at DLSS/frame generation and/or lower settings if you want 4K - and even those tweaks might only get you to 30fps depending on the game!

  • Is the battery life any good?

    • Also avast said centrecom had malware???

    • zen3+ rigs offer very good battery life, igpu only mode can be toggled in armoury crate as well

    • +1

      Yea, but……Harvey Norman.

Can I play Path Of Exile maxed on this?

  • +1

looks like its $1469 with discount now… dodgey

    • Updated the deal now, thanks for the pickup!

    • Very dodgy, must be seeing this deal got ozbargained hard, then changed their name to JACKcom!

  • How do gaming laptops go with heat these days? I remember I used to use mine to stay warm in winter.

    • +2

Did you add the code? $1589 is the pre-discount price

  • gone up again, another $10, still dodgey

    • lol thats why they need to change their name to JACKcom

      • And they changed the promo code and discount is now $100 instead of $120.

CentreCom marketing team gets a pass if their goal was to make this more trouble than it was worth posting in the first place

  • How do screw up a deal so bad you have to amend it 3 times.

  • +2

CentreCom deals should be suspended from here for a period, how in the hell can you advertise a store wide promotion and discount and change the price and bonus daily for the worse, absolute disgrace, I was set to buy this deal and now wouldn't go near this mob

  • if anyone sees this.. dont do it ..

Ive got this laptop and its the 4th time ive taken it back to get it repaired now.. BSOD 3 times, then 4th time we didnt have it charged for about 2weeks then it wont turn back on at all..

    • oh no, even TUF can be this bad?
