Free delivery for eBay Plus subs from their eBay store: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/155308777730

JBL Go is their smallest speaker so I would keep expectations low.
this is also part of their “Essential” models which usually means a few features missing such as no USB-C, no recent BT version, no party pairing multiple speakers.

  • Micro USB charging
  • 3.1 Watt output
  • 730mAh battery (claimed 5 hours playtime probably at <50% volume)
  • IPX7
  • 2.5 hour charge time
  • Bluetooth 4.2
  • Weight: 180 grams
  • Dimensions: 8.6 x 7.12 x 3.16cm

Same price at Bing Lee Ebay. Free delivery with Plus

    • Can return local for me. Better C&C.

  • Ikea has released their own small bluetooth water-resistant speaker too ($25) - how does that compare with this? Has USB-C, but is not as slim profile or physical controls.

ikea vappeby is IP67 so better water protection than JBL Go Essential.

microUSB is also a deal breaker for many.

    • PC/mobile sound electronics seem to get more feeble with each gen until you fork over for powered speakers. My experience is that allowing for damage, the older, the better.

I'd go for the JBL. The charging cable is cheap. Who cares if you need to leave it plugged in overnight while you sleep.

I used the first gen model for years when my car didn't have Bluetooth.

  • I got one of these (maybe 1st gen?) for $10 from Aus Post a few years ago. A good little unit
