    i have one, it's fantastic and it uses the same battery i use for my heated jacket.

    i use this for everything, and use it a lot for breaking down cardboard packages for recycling.

      lol, i didn't get it specifically for that, but i am just saying i get a lot of use out of it. it is a really great tool, and i get a lot of use out of it.

    I have had one of these since it first came out (I think I paid $99 back then) and its probably my most used Makita tool these days. Almost makes recycling enjoyable.

    I also saw they have the CXT compact radio for $74.20 which is under half Australian price. Handy little radio that I used to just leave in my toolbox on job sites as it takes up so little space

    I tried linking to it but got blocked for spam link, so just look up MR052.

    Be aware Makita AU will not honor any warranty on anything thats not Makita AU. I know, I got an excellent deal on a pole trimmer off amazon from Amazon UK. Two years later, it broke, Makita AU refused to repair, they said take it back to the UK. Amazon gave me a full refund and I threw it in the bin. Seemed really wasteful. Anyway the new one from Amazon is stillmuch cheaper than bunnings and its working great. Also from amazon UK.

    Didn't realize these can only take 12v Makita batteries? (Thought my 18v Makitas would work). the 12v rechargables cost more than the unit! Then you also have to buy a rare 12v battery charger as well, another $120!

      not that rare. i use 18v for my smaller lighter drills, coffee machine, heated jacket, etc… so i get a lot of use from my 12v and 18v.
      probably dont need 40v as im not doing super duper crazy work that i need so much power, but will probably reconsider in a few years.
