I'm super tempted to grab it myself even though my new house came fully decked out with Hikvision PoE cameras.

      • +1

They have a few quirks but for the money I’ve been more than happy

      • did you deck it yourself or from previous owner who left it there?

How is the resolution, quality and app of the Hikvision compared to imou/reolink?

        • Already there I just had to supply the NVR. They're 5MP units and really no different to others.

  • hen poineer

  • Hmmmm I have the Bullet 2C 4mp that I bought for $38 each. Is ptz practical in normal surveillance situations? Most of the time it's just being used to passively record 24*7.

Ideally looking for a deal on the Reolink dual lens wide view cameras but pretty sure they're all at least $130+.

  • the ebay ad is wrong or not getting the correct product
    not sure which to trust

Cruiser SE+ is only in 3MP/5MP, not 4MP as shown on their site

    https://www.imoulife.com/en/product/detail/cruiser-se-plus

    • The link you've provided shows the se+ as 2MP or 4MP models. Are you sure you're not thinking of the Cruiser 2C which has 3MP/5MP models?

      • look at the image , it shows 3MP / 5MP
        https://i.imgur.com/p4o3vyl.png

but i later notice it says below

        • Enjoy elevated image quality from 2/4MP to 3/5MP

Scrolling down only shows option to pick

        3/5MP picture comparison ad
        https://i.imgur.com/YK87Iqe.png

so not sure what that means?
-is there another model that is 3/5 MP?

Else why not list it as 3/5MP instead of 4MP?

        • That's really curious - if I look on my desktop I get the same as you, but if I do it on my phone I get the 2MP/4MP, so I do apologise for jumping the gun. https://ibb.co/stz55hG Just looks like they have trouble getting their own details consistent.

anyone got 4K security cameras and do you recommend it over 2K or 4MP cameras?

State your reason why with pros and cons would be helpful.

reolink 4K deals have been posted here for about $100 on aliexpress
so I am not sure which to get..

Also is better to get POE if you plan to put 2 to 3 or more cameras instead of using AC plug?

Lot of your questions have already been covered here and a simple Google search can find similar opinions.
      4k.
      Cons:
Costs more, initially. Also requiring greater bandwidth and storage hardware
      Pros:
Details and facial recognition are better

      Poe
Cons: initial setup cost is high if using professionals but also infrastructure costs
Pros: supplying power costs less than an ac power outlet installed by an electrician

You need to consult an expert, do your own research or ask in forums.

I have been doing my own research
but also wanted to get people's opinion on here if they own both (which is also a form of research)

        Stupid questions receive stupid answers

By your logic, most of the questions posted here can considered stupid cos they can just google it..
Just go read through any posts and you can see questions that can be considered stupid..

You need to not act so smart / smug..
If you don't want to answer than don't.
No one is forcing you to comment here or answer the questions..

Would be better if you don't reply to people's question with that attitude.

Some of the most informative answers I’ve ever received were from ozb comment sections. People like to lather on the attitude, not realising that if no-one ever asks, there’ll be much less to read when you “just g00gl3 it!”
