ORIGINAL POST
For some reason, Lenovo is offering a hefty $165 discount if you select the "Arctic Blue" display colour when configuring the E330. There are three base configurations on offer - this applies the the i3-3120M and i5-3230M models (the i3-3110M cannot be reconfigured).

After changing the screen to Arctic Blue, the standard coupons also apply. For the i3-3120M, you can use SEPWELC2013 coupon. For the i5-3230M, the E330DEAL coupon provides a slightly bigger discount on the base config, while SEPWELC2013 may be better if you add upgrades.

      • everyone knows consoles are sold at a loss 4 the first couple of years

  • Guys my Paypal transaction is cancelled by Lenovo after contacting them. My Paypal account also 'cancelled' and I got an official email from Paypal. But my CC account hasnt got credited yet and its about 5 days since the former happened. Is this normal? Any ideas how long it will take or should I contact Paypal?

    Thanks fellow cost warriors!

As usual, the day I post something like this, it has got refunded back into my account. Well that will be the last I have anything to do with Lenovo for the way they handled me:)

  • Did anyone else pay via direct deposit? Did you get the weird email asking for your entire bank details?

    • Yes, I did. Two infact, as I ignored the first.
I sent my details and they replied that the transfer was done but would still take 3-5 days.
That was Monday the 23rd of September.
As of this moment, the 2x $1 pending transactions they had on my account have disappeared but still no refund as yet.

      • +1

Just confirming that I have my full refund as of today (26th)

        • I just got a refund on my direct deposit today, too. For the correct amount.

  • +2

Got a refund but not the full amount, paid $336.60 for the E531 using direct deposit but only got $330 back, have sent an email asking for the rest

    • looks like they sent the money from overseas via RTGS and didnt include FULL AMOUNT.

  • +6

Still no refund, they are testing my patience… From now when ever any asks for advice at work or in my personal life I will steer people strongly away from Lenovo! I hope this damages their presence in Oz.

    • +2

Still none from me. Paypal: pending. This is B.S if they have already confirmed it's an error. Not happy.

  • Would a bank cheque be a better option than a transfer to my account? Are there charges related to cashing a bank cheque?

  • emailed the address posted by a member here and got a reply within 48 hours it was canceled on my Paypal account.

  • I have received my refund but less $1 I believe which they have taken for ear phones. Lenovo is rubbish.

  • Has anyone complaint this to ACCC?

    • +2

I'm going to as soon as I have time.
Even if this was an "error" the person I was inquiring to was quick to turn it into a bait and switch situation….

      • Maybe Lenovo just got greedy after the sheer potential volume of sales?

I can't be bothered searching through the long thread and search for information from bitten consumers, but has Lenovo confirmed to anyone who has contacted them that there may have been excess inventory of FHD screens?

Or, it may have been an error, resolved poorly.

        • +1

I think you could be right. http://db.tt/wzBHXagS

If it was a genuine pricing error -

          • Someone had to make a typo with price e.g. -$176 instead of +$99
          • Another typo with inventory e.g. 100 had become 1,000,000,000 in stock (the product never sold out)
          • Got it past all the experienced staff involved who know the industry/prices. e.g. if there was a $300 laptop in Myer Grandma on the checkout would ask for a price check.
  • confirmed receive refund but minus $0.56 i dont know what is that for

    • I wonder if it's to do with the exchange rate or something?

      • +2

The onus is on Lenovo to ensure that consumers are refunded the full amount of payment (processed or on hold), irrespective of any extraneous factors, as this was their "error".

It seems this isn't a one-off encounter either, so perhaps OzBargainers and other readers should check their accounts to ensure that full payment is received.

  • 5-6 days before I get my money back. 5-6 days interest they will be making on my money…. I needed the laptop for my business. I can't afford to buy another laptop until I get the money back. I've lost some business because of it…

    • -1

Your business must be crap if you cannot afford to buy more than one laptop…

      • Maybe it's crap…I'm a freelancer… not a multi-billion dollar earning company like lenovo.. yet I still don't give my clients "pricing errors" and hold on to their money for extended periods of time without supplying them with a product or service. And when I do make mistakes, I ensure I make it up to my clients and customers and ensure they are happy.

I think that if you took out all the repeats of the same information over and over again, this thread would be about 1 page long.

Just got charged $10 from my bank for RTGS…wow

    • things got messier for you.. thanks to lenovo.

    • Why were you charged, and not Lenovo?

      • My bank (bankwest) has an 'inward fee' charge for RTGS.

        • I hope Con'em Wealth doesn't…

What are you going to do about it?

        • I contacted lenovo, they said they let me know by monday haha.

          Bankwest won't waive the fee.

  • my paypal is till pending,,, OMFG

and after emailing them, their reply was: it was expired!
WTF? on my PayPal still show pending!!!

Still waiting for the cheque to arrive -_-

  • +1

Rang Lenovo on the 16th Sept (China number 1800 798 320) ..They told me I would be getting my cheque back in 3 - 5 days…She said it was being processed immediately!!…Until now…nothing…Rang Aust 1300 number 5 times…All they do is leave you on hold….Rang China 3 times ..they hung up twice after I got the message and before I spoke to a human. Spoke to a rep just then..She said the company that processes the checks is in Singapore and China told them to send my cheque to me on the 27th Sept…Lenovo China sat on their hands for 11 days and did nothing!!!! And who keeps saying they aren't using our money for the money market…NOT ME!!!! Now the question is how long will Singapore do nothing before telling Citybank in Australia. TOTAL INCOMPETENCE ALL ROUND!!!

  • +2

Lenovo has ONE rep worth their salt…Grace in China rang Singapore and Citybank in Aust and traced my cheque. They sent it on the 27th (supposedly) from Citibank Aust…Now waiting…….Todays the 1st Oct…so it should be here soon……..

  • +1

Wow … just got an email from Lenovo saying that Paypal will take between 5-15 days to "process" my refund, so they basically got my money for a month.

    • ye just got the email too.
      took awhile

  • I'm still f#$%#ing waiting for my full refund…. anyone else?

  • Did anyone write a 'nice' complaint to Lenovo, and get offered a decent deal? I was considering giving it a try…

    • You're probably better off ringing them.

  • +4

I know this is an old thread, but I thought I would post my own experience with Lenovo, if only to enlighten others.
After the intial fiasco of getting my money refunded from this deal, I still went ahead and purchased an E531 as I was in need of a new laptop.
I think it took almost a week before I got any feedback from their tracking page that they'd even received my payment.
Once that happened though it was just a few days before it was manufactured and delivered.
All I could find wrong was just 1 dead pixel, very hard to see on the FHD screen that I ordered, so I wasn't worried by that.
About a week later I thought I saw a flicker across the bottom of the screen out of the corner of my eye, but then nothing.
It didn't get much use for the next few days and I didn't notice the flicker again until I spent some time on it.
All in the space of about an hour, it went from a momentary flicker occasionally to a full on white line all the way across the screen.
At least I now had something to capture on video so I could use it to prove the problem in case it went away again (it hasn't).
    Then the fun started.
Over the last week or so I have been on the phone 6 times to support, etc.
Twice, I gave up waiting on hold after 20 mins or so.
Twice I was waiting on hold and got kicked off their system after about 30 mins.
And twice I got through to a human after waiting more than 30 mins on hold each time.
The first human created a ticket number for me and asked me to email my invoice to them to get a DOA authority, which I did while he waited. He also promised someone would contact me by the end of the day, but noone did.
After a few days I again called support to enquire after my DOA authority and was told they were too busy to talk to me then but would call back later that day. Again, nobody did.
That's 3 days so far and I'll be on the phone again tomorrow.
So, as far as I am conncerned, they have lost one more customer and I will buy a laptop elsewhere once I (hopefully) get my refund.

    • Ya like i said, Lenevo has gone down the drain and they can get stuffed, I have alredy told everyone to steer clear of em~ i know this shit happens a lot but i even tried with the mad discount to get a laptop, so much time wasted and that was the last straw.

      • Well, after a few more non-phone calls and a few -
"Sorry sir, I can't help you because it's just outside our 2 week return period, but I will escalate the problem and get back to you's",
I happened upon a Whirlpool page about Lenovo (wish I'd seen it before all this). It basically led me to their Facebook page whereupon I made my pressence felt. In a fairly short time I was asked to provide details and within a couple of days the laptop had been collected for return.
1 -2 weeks later I had my refund and bought a Dell.
Would you believe that I had a (minor) problem with that too but I didn't want to muck around, just in case.
I booked it for return after a few days which it duly was, without hassle, and I got my refund some time later.

        • Nolove's Facebook page has become its customer support centre, and its telephone support is staffed by lazy monkeys. I hope Nolove is not setting a new trend for customer service by multi-national companies.
