ORIGINAL POST
For some reason, Lenovo is offering a hefty $165 discount if you select the "Arctic Blue" display colour when configuring the E330. There are three base configurations on offer - this applies the the i3-3120M and i5-3230M models (the i3-3110M cannot be reconfigured).

After changing the screen to Arctic Blue, the standard coupons also apply. For the i3-3120M, you can use SEPWELC2013 coupon. For the i5-3230M, the E330DEAL coupon provides a slightly bigger discount on the base config, while SEPWELC2013 may be better if you add upgrades.

  • Dawn, I forgot to add this headset to my order. It only take $1 if order with E531(value at $99). "Simply add ThinkPad Noise Cancelling Earbuds (PN: 0B47313) after you add ThinkPad E531 to cart. Discount will be applied when you select the option."

  • +3

    I really resisted….resisted…resisted…and bought E531 for $337. Thanks OP..

    • you need to change the screen on the E531 and the colour on the E330

    • Read the deal contents and how to get the price. You have to change the type of display to get the discount

    • +3

Nah looks to be still on like donkey kong yo! Just select the display which subtracts, add the dolla earbuds, enter the code SEPWELC2013 and Kim Jong-un's ya uncle.

  • bought, forgot to enter starthere rebate, nooooooooo

    • Thats all of $10? Not much compared to the discount.
And it means that the referral credit goes to scotty, to help pay for ozbargain.

      • +2

the referral credit goes to scotty, to help pay for ozbargain.

        +1

Prefer the credit go to helping run this site

Where would we be be without scotty? probably at Harvey Norman still buying laptops for $1500+ or getting ripped off with $200 HDMI monster cables

      • Actually if you are logged in member of OzBargain I don't get any referral credit so it's best to get some extra back from cashback sites like StartHere.

        • Yes, Scotty gets paid by the ads on the pages. So try clicking the ads when you can.

        • +2

I'll give Scotty a free BigMac(only 1 day old, still refrigerated) in appreciation :)

  • Totally bought one, even though the trackpad looks a bit rubbish its still a massive bargain.

    • Thinkpad has the nipple-mouse, which is much better than the trackpad anyway.

      • +1

Nipples aye? You got my attention ;)

    • +1

E531's trackpad is supposed to be better with one single touch area and 5 hidden buttons. However not so good for us TrackPoint users.

  • -5

can someone send me a link for E531 please?. it's not showing $336 after applying coupon for me. Thanks

    • +3

<sigh> select the full-hd display option.

    • you need to choice FHD display before you make order

  • BTW their online chat down?

  • +1

I got to entering the credit card details and I had to pull out. My 4 year old messes around on my old 13.3", this would definitely be surplus to needs. Amazing deal though.

  • +2

might have already been mentioned but this also works on other models, i tried it on the 11.6 X131e and it gave a discount by selecting the same screen but in red. comes down to 330$ for that one.. with celery processor, i3 version also available

    • It's also 2GB RAM rather than 4GB. I bought the E531 (that's 2.25 kg I think), but if there's a lighter model with similar specs and price, then that's certainly worthy of consideration, but the really light X series laptops tend to be painfully pricey.

    • At 1.8kg, its rather heavy for an X-series.
What advantage does it have over the E330, which is same weight but bigger screen and faster?

  • Still can't view order details via my account. Gives a system error message :(

  • What is the difference between FHD Antiglare and Arctic Blue?

    • +6

      $165

  • +3

I am in the same situation mate. My wife told me: "You CANNOT buy it", but I still hit the purchase button in the end!!! OMG, CANNOT resist this deal.

    • +13

My wife told me: "You CANNOT buy it"

well , the ozbargain community has decided and we all say "You CAN buy it"

Lets be honest here, Probably you wont be having sex for a month, but look on the positive side, you have a new toy to play with and you can watch movies in FULL HD … imagine the resolution

      • +1

Well, I am not quite sure for the other ozbargainers, the first thing after I start and the last thing before I shut down my computer is to check ozbargain website. This deal comes out while I am waiting for a deal for 27 inch iMac. (The IvyBridge model should be in clearance when the new Haswell is out) Now I am sure I need to negotiate more with her when iMac deal is out.

  • +2

Nice lucky i have a spare $400 to spend thanks to kogan.

  • I cannot get the earbuds for $1 after adding the e531 … anyone getting the same problem?

    • +1

Optional accessories in cart - under multimedia

  • Ordered the 531 for $337 with the earbuds. Been on the lookout for a laptop so very welcome bargain!

  • e531 with i5 and 320gb hdd for $405 + ear buds = nice

    • how you get that price ?
I tried many times but no luck

      • You have to first select i3 and upgrade to i5 but for $20 less you get 320gb instead of 500gb

        • thanks got it but some people get i3 without upgrade for ~$305 which I am trying to do

  • Wohooo! Pulled the trigger finally! I hope people realise Chinese do make good products!

  • Bought the E330 from one of the earlier deals.
So far so good, although several issues potential buyers may want to keep in mind:
    - Lenovo support is pretty rubbish and you have to send the laptop to the US (min 4 weeks) for any warranty problems
    - Integrated microphone works intermittently on my model, although it's probably my bad luck
    - Webcam is "720p" but don't expect great quality (this probably isn't an issue for most)
    - Battery life is NOT 8 hours as claimed. Probably closer to 3-4 hours with wifi.

  • Live chat back up

Ok I bought some Lenovo laptop, don't even know what it looks like, now to see what I bought.

    • +1

some ? how many u bought mate ? lol

      • some ? how many u bought mate ? lol

he said some laptop, not some laptops

  • PayPal payment failed…?? If I order again with credit card does that double my order?

    • Who cares, the more the better :)

      P.S I just ordered one to <3

      • Tempted to buy another…………………………..

    • No. I tried 3 times with PayPal and failed. Paid it via CC and went through.

      • Do check the order history though. Mine looked to have not gone through as well via Paypal but it was there in the orders list and on my Paypal a/c as well. I ordered another one thinking the first one did not go through and then paid via credit card so trying to cancel the Paypal one atm.

        • +1

same happened to me but order confirmation received.

    • No, it won't duplicate the order.

      • mmm my paypal got charged already but with the status pending…… :(

  • +2

I was at work when I ordered one. Got home went to sleep.

Just woke up and now I feel like ordering another one just because the damn deal is still going.

Not sure what I am gonna do with 2 extra laptops though.

    • sell on gumtree like others lol

  • ThinkPad X131e is only $330 when you select red color, some thing must be wrong with Lenovo end. This is good for the kids as it is ultra light.

    • No, it is 1.8kg, same as the E330. Other X-series are ultralight, but not that one.

  • e531 i3 with Nvidia N14P-GV2+ 2 GB VRAM (WWAN or mSATA capable).

any good for gaming on low/med settings.

also is it worth the extra $143.

    • I think you might need an i5 for gaming.

      I think N14P-GV2 = GT 740M.

      GT 740M is 10% < GT 650M 10% < GTX 660M

      • not sure why people -NEG you for answering/trying to help, but I vote+ for you

  • So the Nvidia N14P-GV2 = GeForce 740M?
    E531 i7 with FHD is around $730.91?

    • its $691 WO head phones

  • Can't get the $1 earbuds

how do you do this? When I searched for the products it lists as $99 in the cart.

    • don't search for it , it comes up as accessories on the second page after you order the laptop.

  • Darn, I purchased the MSI GE60 for $930 on Friday:
    http://www.megabuy.com.au/product_info.php?products_id=40862…

Oh well, guess I paid an extra $200 for a better GTX 600M card.

    • And an extra year of warranty ,i nearly bought that also.

  • Anyone know if the Base Warranty includes international warranty?

  • AU$614.70* for this one (same as the last one I posted b4 but without graphics card) not bad

  • Anyone get an error when trying to view their order again in order history?
Im trying to view whether my order was confirmed or not. Should we be receiving any confirmation emails as i dont I think I have yet…

  • Simply add ThinkPad Noise Cancelling Earbuds (PN: 0B47313) after you add ThinkPad E531 to cart. Discount will be applied when you select the option.

This is not working for me.

    Any ideas?

    • +1

First configure and add the lappy then select the earbuds from the next page (ie Warranty upgrades and accessories > Multimedia accessories)

      • Thanks dins - that worked and I got an order confirmation

  • It looks like you can't add the $1 earbuds for E330. But for E531 no problemo.

  • Has anyone who has ordered the E531 tracked their order and hav anything other than processing request?

    • I have "Customer Action" on both my E531 orders, after having "processing" earlier today.

  • Can anyone confirm that E330 is only 13.3" screen and E531 is only 15.6" screen? Can you also confirm if its easy to cancel orders on Monday? I placed an incorrect order for E531 (with NVIDIA card for $143, so I want to cancel that order). Thanks.

    • live chat will cancel it for you

      • live chat refused to cancel it for me. They asked me to callback on Monday with Postsales :(

        • order another one that you want and remember to cancel the one you don't want in Monday << this what I am doing

        • yep done. anyway to track order with guest checkout and paypal? I dont seem to remember entering an email id except paypal signin.

EDIT: Tried the order status page which returns:
Your order is currently being verified. Please check back for order status updates

        • Bad idea to do guest check out.

Why did you not create an account.

  • OK, I've ordered the E531 for $335.70 without the ear buds.
I'm getting prematurely excited about it, I probably shouldn't until everything has been confirmed as shipped.

    Some observations :
    - Lenovo has deducted a $1 pending payment from my bank account(I paid with CC after multiple failed attempts with PP). I'm presuming this is to verify account details supplied, which will be refunded or deducted from total amount later.
    - In the Lenovo system it peculiarly states the order date as the 13/09(Yesterday!)
    - When I click on this order as in "view order details" it comes up with a new page with a wonderful error message that prevents me from seeing my order. Lucky I have the email invoice as proof.

Very reassuring for their customers and highly professional. No, but really, their payment system and website overall is a terrible abomination. Let's hope they honour this deal, otherwise it would be very dishonorable of them and I will go out of my way to rubbish them to the grave.

    • I got called by AMEX fraud alerts. Maybe it was because of how the transaction was charged…

  • I paid via direct deposit, in case it was a price error, nothing take my money out and no headache on refund. direct deposit give you 10 day to pay :)

    • +1

Or if they haven't received your money yet they might just decide to cancel your order anyway since their obligation to you is less.

      • as someone write above, lenovo never take your money until the order is confirmed, so it work out the same!

    • 5 days

  • just order one via paypal express, hope lenovo will honor this offer.

any good for gaming on low/med settings ?

also is it worth the extra $143 ?

    thanking y'all.

Yes that should be fine and definitely worth it if you want to game. It is the same as a GT-740M…

      http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-GeForce-GT-740M.89900.0.…

      • thanks think i am gonna order another one now.

    • -1

IMO This is not a gaming laptop, so no good for gaming, anything played would be on low settings to get 25FPS….IMO unless you spend $1200-$1500 on a laptop with very good discrete graphics it is pointless. All subjective, depends on what games you play…..Candy crush and free cell would be fine :)
