Buy an N600 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit ADSL2+ Modem Router (TD-W8980) in the applicable period (now until 31st December) and you can mail in to receive a free N600 Wireless Dual Band USB Adapter (TL-WDN3200).

Seems like a bargain to me! I was needing a new modem and had already decided on this model after reading some good feedback on Whirlpool (http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/2038380) and it was the cheapest dual band modem from MSY, so the freebie is cream on top for me.

There is a sticker on the box states 'Ready for NBN'.

I bought the modem from MSY for $108, which was one of the cheapest retailers (http://www.staticice.com.au/cgi-bin/search.cgi?q=w8980&spos=…), you might try your luck price matching -5% at your local Office Works store. The free USB adapter is RRP $49, but sells for around $25-30 (http://www.staticice.com.au/cgi-bin/search.cgi?q=WDN3200&spo…).

Downside: You have to send in the ORIGINAL receipt & serial number cut out from box (they send back original receipt with the freebie).

  Just a note, it doesn't support SNR tweaking (has Lantiq chipset instead of Broadcom in the TD-W8960N).

I bought this router a while ago, it is ok but nothing special. The Wi-Fi performance seems lacking.

  I bought this modem to replace a Billion 7300N which after 6 months working solidly now has wireless issues. Tried changing wireless channels, upgrading firmware and changing some other settings, with no success. Fingers crossed I get better mileage out of this modem.

Sweet! I randomly happened to buy this modem today before seeing this post. Cheers OP, I'll get myself one of these here wifi adaptors ( then find a use for it later)

So far so good, wireless working great across 4 devices. And I have been able to sync the line at a higher speed than with the Billion 7300N.

This was posted 10 years 6 months 17 days ago, and might be an out-dated deal.
