Store subscriptions and email notifications

I am subscribed to deals from Coles, Woolworths and a few other stores and usually I receive an email regarding new deals for these stores. There was an offer posted today which I didn't get an email about and I'm just trying to figure out why the email didn't come. It's now listed in the Woolworths deals and coupons page.

I was about to place this deal myself and luckily when I was filling in the submit form the existing deal came up in the "possible duplicates" section so I cancelled my submission.

Was the deal originally published under a different domain than Woolworths? Was this the reason it didn't trigger an automated email? The deal was edited a couple of times to clarify the deal and I'm wondering if the Woolworths connection was added then. Is there a way of sending out new email notifications if either the category or the website link changes?

Occasionally emails that were supposed to come to me get lost in cyberspace for unknown reasons so I was wondering whether this has happened or whether there was another reason I didn't get the deal email.

  • From the URL of the deal it was originally linked with "salefinder.com.au" and the moderator has to manually changed the linked domain to Woolworths. Notification is only sent out when the deal was first posted.

We have now turned on a flag so whenever someone posted a URL from salefinder.com.au, they will be required to supply the domain name of the actual retailer.

    • Good idea.

      Thank you for the clarification.
