On that note, we've just this minute finished our inaugural cups of scorpion.

So for those who are on the fence regarding it I'll give my opinion.

Quite good. Surprised us all. Including someone who drank theirs absolutely wanting to hate it.

In a way, unremarkable - in that I was worried there would be too much of a departure from what is a normal cup. I was expecting it to have a savoury element to it - but no, it's actually just a decent coffee with something of a physical sensation along with it.

I think you were right to dial back the heat, though, I think any more and it'd be overpowering - we get the physical chilli sensation without losing the taste of the coffee. Generally speaking, the coffee snobs are going to all go into tasting this wanting to hate it, so I think the subtlety really works.

Great, thanks for the feedback it's much appreciated :-) I agree, the idea of infusing flavours through the coffee beans could be considered sacrilege much like drinking a nice single malt with coke but it's certainly a different slant on an espresso and worth trying something different.

Might not drink it all the time as we always have a lot fresh new single origins coming in but quite an interesting flavour profile. I found it has quite a powerful taste up front which starts to grow on you as you drink more

        • Hah, yeah, honestly, I expected to drink a few mouthfuls and say "this is not for me" - but its good enough that I intend to go through the full 250g and see what I think after a few days, now.

Off topic, when I hear Scorpion Espresso Chilli Coffee Beans. It reminds me of Breaking Bad, when Jesse Pinkman used to add chilli powder to his crystal meth cook.

    • Good idea. Rep, can we get meth infused beans in the next deal? Caffeine's just not giving me the kick it used to. ;)

Maybe you could come and help me spray these coffee beans with Scorpion Chilli extract. Every time I do it it's like getting CS gassed when training in the British Army

        • +1

Careful, you'll have salem asking for gassing next.

  • Hi Rep, do you still have the 10 x 200 gr deal?

    • Sorry, just run out

Great deal. I still have 2x 200g packs left from last 10x200g offer. Mate that Honduras coffee is hands down best cup of coffee I have ever tried….

That's great, I'm happy you are enjoying. I've got 3 from Honuduras (1 Cup Of Excellence). They are great for milk based coffee as they have good body and acidity.

I also came here to post about how freaking great the Honduras San Vincente is (I got some in a previous deal).

All Manna coffees I've ordered have been excellent, but that was absolutely my favourite so far!

Thanks for another great deal here, Manna ;-)

    • Thanks very much, it's great to get such positive feedback. I think these 4 coffees are a pretty solid selection. People seem to be enjoying the Inza Cauca also :-)

  • Ordered for my work place. We're gonna love this.
Do you get a confirmation email about the order. I want to make sure that this is delivered to my workplace and not my home.

    • Orders are shipped to the Paypal address unless otherwise stated. Please shoot me an email if your unsure and I can check for you or alter address. You should receive a Paypal confirmation on placing the order and we will send you tracking once despatched

  • Excellent timing. I went and bought a 500g pack from the supermarket waiting to do another order from you.
return customer. ordered just now - didnt get a receipt from you but have the payment email from paypal (Transaction ID: 1BS29297MU734170W).
    thanks manna.

BTW, is there such a thing as good quality Australian beans?

    • Hey PVA, thanks I received your order and will email tracking once dispatched later today. There are a few places in Australia where coffee is grown. Howe Farming in Nrth QLD produce a few hundred tons a year and also Byron Bay.

As a general rule, coffee grows better with altitude and as we don't have much of that in Australia it isn't in my opinion as good as many of the other coffees from around the world. Also it's too expensive to hand pick the coffee here so machines are usually used and this can mean that not just the ripe cherrys are picked but the whole lot. This also means that there is the possibility of getting more flaws transferring to the cup. Hope this helps

  • Hi,

Sorry to be a pest but is it possible to get 3x honduras SV and 1x Columbia inca

    • Please shoot me an email or turn your im on. Cheers

      • Email sent.thanks

  • Good deal, ordered. I prefer the 250g x 8 deals though as i like the variety.

  • Wow! That was quick service. Ordered yesterday, received today (Canberra). Many thanks. Previous supply of Colombia Inza Cauca is going down well (although at least one of the inmates has complained that the flavour is too bold… tough).
