Where is the cheapest place I can get the 5 outright or on a contract. The 5c doesn't appeal with its plastic back while the the 5s is a bit pricey, however if there are good deals I'll conaider them. Optus or Telstra network only as Vodafone isn't great in my area.

I only caught a glimpse of it before but there was some Telstra deal for employees that a few of the community members were quite excited about. I'm not sure it's available as a deal anymore due to its marginal demographic for the deal.
I'm totally with you on buying phones outright, though. I bought my 4S and joined a BYO plan and haven't looked back since. Think overall I saved around $200 for the year.
