We have just rolled out Google+ and Facebook login integration this morning. Google+ sign-in and Facebook login buttons have been added to the login page and popup, and also in the user profile form. What this means is:
- New users can create a new account on OzBargain via Google+ or Facebook without needing go through the registration form. They will still need to choose an OzBargain username.
- Existing users can link their Google+/Facebook accounts in My Account -> Settings, by choosing the 'profile' secondary menu tab item. They can then login without having to remember their OzBargain username/password.
- Users can opt to show their Google+/Facebook profile URL on their OzBargain profile publically if they choose to. There is a prompt when linking the external account, and the setting can also be changed in My Account -> Settings, in the 'profile' secondary menu tab item.
- Logged in users can unlink all their external accounts at a future date as long as they have chosen a password on OzBargain so that they can still log in.
Hopefully this will simplify the registration process and encourage more to join the community. :)
