Tested by reviewing an order on the 500GB and shipping and handling was $8.19 to Brisbane, AU So total costs for the 500GB plus shipping to Brisbane was $287.19

Tested also for the 1TB and shipping was $9.43 so shipping seems quite cheap.

Umart have them for $369 —> http://www.umart.com.au/pro/products_listnew.phtml?id=10&id2…

While the cheapest 500GB Samsung EVO SSD that I could find on static ice was $370.06 —> http://www.staticice.com.au/cgi-bin/search.cgi?q=Samsung+EVO…

The 120GB isn't cheap at all, bought one last week for $109 from PCCG and that was me being too lazy to look for a cheaper price!

  • +2

    Local prices
    $109 120GB various shops
    $179 250GB IT ESTATE
    $375 500GB CCPU Carlingford

So, only the larger capacities are worth getting.

  • Amazon price for Crucial M500 120GB is US$70 + delivery (around A$8).

  • That doesn't make sense, there was a huge run / deal only a week ago, the 750 EVO's were $369 US at newegg and Amazon.
Considering that great price, I'd be leaning towards saying this deal could be bested.
Heck I can get a 500gb EVO from PCCG for $369 (last I checked, a week ago?) - that's only $39 more to not import a drive.

I need to see at least an 80+ $ saving to import.

  • ….or just pop in to MSY.

  • I bought one of the 1TB drives on the 3rd March for US$495, which arrived yesterday…I contacted them Monday to request they refund the price difference (USD$25), which took about 1 hour in total.

So for me the equation was about $550 and 16 days waiting time, versus a staticice search (now) of $670-$690, with many of those taking 3-5 days delivery.

  • How prices have changed. I paid $1800 for a 64GB and a 256GB only a few years ago.
