Received a text from goCatch this morning for a $15 taxi voucher:

"Good morning from goCatch - Skip the rain today with a $15 voucher for your trip - EARLYBIRDGETSTHEWORM

Apply and enjoy"

No idea how long it is valid for or if it applies Australia wide. Can confirm that I applied this morning and $15 was credited to my account.

To apply:

Open up goCatch app
Go to Vouchers
Hit redeem a voucher
Type in code
Get free $15 taxi ride

Cruising.

(I'm in Melbourne so if others could confirm it works elsewhere, that'd be awesome)

Received this text at 2.40pm:

"Welcome EarlyBirds ! Catch at least one Cab with us before 1st of April 2014 to keep your $15 Credit & we'll give you an extra $10 if you catch more than 1 Cab"

Sounds like we need to catch a cab by Monday to keep the voucher. Deal kind of sucks now. However, you can get a bit of extra free cash if you take more that one cab this weekend. Probably more beneficial for those busting a move this weekend.

    I got another SMS from them last night saying that if I booked a ride before end of this month and paid using my account credit (code from last time) that I would get another $25 credited to my account. Loving it!

      Yeah last time I used the app they asked me to create an account and verify my email. Apparently they are trying to up their security.

    Some advice: Make sure you tell the driver at the beginning that you are using goCatch credit to pay for the trip. I had a driver cancel the trip in the app so he could avoid having to pay goCatch their commission. I reported him and someone from goCatch called to apologise, they banned the driver from the app and gave me some credit. The support at goCatch is great should you need it.

    This may be of interest:
    I had recently wiped my phone. It said there was no account for my email address but I had used this email address when getting a $20 voucher in Jan.
    I created an account with the same email address and the $20 credit was back. Then I verified the email address and got the $15 vouchers. I now have $35 on my account.

        No idea, there were no terms and conditions in the text. In my experience with the previous $20 deal, I used the credit a long time after the stated expiry.

    If I get a cab without goCatch I have 2 options:
    - pay cash - the exact amount
    - pay with a card - there is a surcharge, I think 10%

    What is the deal with goCatch? Can't find this info on their website…

      Passengers in Victoria ONLY pay 5% surcharge as per the statewide industry change on 1st Feb 2014.

      Its unclear what is the policy with cash payments - there is no cash option in the app but nothing stops passenger from paying cash.

      From what I can remember from using the last voucher:

      Driver stops and confirms fare on his/her phone.
      Fare is shown on passenger app screen.
      Voucher amount is deducted from total fare.
      Passenger has the option to pay by cash or credit card.

      If fare is less than voucher amount, no payment is required, and difference between the fare and the voucher remains in the account as credit.

        You will have to pay by credit card or paypal via the app to make use of the credit. No option for cash.

        Hmm they were all on. GPS was off. Didn't work after turning GPS on either.

        The app just appears to open (black screen) and then it shuts. Then I try again and it just stays on the black screen..

        haha oh well. Need to give this one a pass I guess.

    Yes expired too quick. I had problems logging in as lost my activation email and by the time I sorted out the offer had expired
