Excellent deal on the Asymmetric 2s. Have just booked in with Ruben for 4 new tyres on Monday at 8am. Will feedback on the service. Cheers

Had four new Asymmetric 2's fitted today. An excellent tyre and certainly a OZBARGAIN price. Good service from Kevin and his boys. Definitely worth a call to see if they have the tyre size you require as I am told they still have stock in various sizes. Cheers

  • Fitted 4 Asymmetric 2 a few days ago. Definitely cheap prices. However, I'd advice to buy the tyres and have them fitted at a trusted tyre store you've used before if you are particular about scratches on your rims.

After the tyres were fitted, I left only to realise that there were scratches on my rims. Some of which were where the old balancing weights were. Obviously, they were removed without care with a less than ideal method. Wrote to the store but they denied any wrong doing (I wondered what caused the scratches underneath and around the old weights then).

Unfortunately, I also left with 2 broken center caps for my rims. This was brought to my attention while I was waiting. On hindsight, I wonder why I was'nt told when the first one broke.

    Not too happy.

Jeremy, you sent me photos and I promptly provided you a full analysis. The scratches you claim were covered under layers of dust and under previous wheel weights installed (and funnily enough there are scratches next to the wheel weight also covered in dust). Others were clear impacts from small rocks on the inside face of the rim, also covered in dust which you obviously cleaned with your finger immediately before taking photos. Having worked in the tyre industry for six years, I know a freshly scratched rim when I see one, and I am quite willing to put my professional integrity on the line for my claim that these were pre-existing marks.
Further, on talking to my staff, I was informed that you stood by your car through the process and carefully examined the rims being taken off and being put back on.
I apologize for your center caps breaking, but this is general wear and tear on the plastic becoming brittle and no tyre service will take responsibility for it. The two staff that attended to your vehicle have 27 years of tyre fitting experience between them combined. Please be assured that we exercised full care and due diligence in our installation process and we would have taken full responsibility had we acted negligently.

      -Ruben.

I do have to reply to this.

        Let me lay the facts.

        1) I was NEVER beside my car when the job was done. Your guy drove it in. I never saw the wheels being taken off. The ONLY time I was near my car when it was in the workshop was when I was loading my old tyres in my boot (this was only when ALL 4 new tyres were fitted on).
Your recent post says a lot of the integrity of your staff. You need to investigate this, you need to investigate this Ruben. If you insist, I don't know what that says on 'putting your professional integrity' on the line. If you have a CCTV at your store, I urge you to review it!

        2) There was NO dust on all the scratch marks where the old weights were. Here's a pic - http://imgur.com/fHj1VLF

I am absolutely shocked to see what you wrote.

Ruben, I'm keen to hear your thoughts again.

Buyers beware. Good price, no doubt but after seeing this reply, I'm further flabbergasted.

I have not seen that photo before and is completely different to the ones you sent me earlier.

Photo 1: You can tell a wheel weight existed at that spot. Just above the spot are further scratches on a dusty surface. The shade of white also changes in the dusty patch indicating pre-existing marks.

Photo 2: No indication of previous wheel weight. SUPPOSED there was; the removing blade is inserted into the TOP edge of the wheel weight and levered off. This is done using the left hand on the wheel balancer with the rim facing rightwards. This clearly indicates that the scratched surface would be the bottom, which has absolutely no chance of getting scratched in that manner. Also note the shade of white is dusty and consistent with the dusty part in the first photo.

Photo 3 and 4: Impact marks by rocks, etc.

The newest photo you've just posted: There is dirt evident in the outer crevices of the 'blocky' scratched area. There is also dust covering the 'J' scratch which would not be the case had the scratch been fresh. Remember that we cannot remove the paint beneath the dirt.

I hope you are satisfied with my reply. I will not be entertaining this any further.

Again, your word against mine on a public forum. Harm done both ways unfortunately.

Dust or no dust around the scratch, quite obvious that those scratches were fresh, looking at how white they were.

Most importantly, what you said about me being beside my car when your guys where removing and fitting back my wheel are absolutely QUESTIONABLE - why are you avoid this now. From both the perspective of your credibility and integrity. At no time was I beside my car or in the workshop between the time your guys were removing and fitting my wheel back on the car.

"Further, on talking to my staff, I was informed that you stood by your car through the process and carefully examined the rims being taken off and being put back on." - see here http://i60.tinypic.com/33cn61u.jpg

Look Ruben, you can arguably say some of them are stone chips. The pictures showing the scratches around the weights are pretty obvious seeing how fresh they are. You say "Remember that we cannot remove the paint beneath the dirt.", I'd say, "There would be dust over the scratches if they were old scratches."

Nonetheless, an experience and one that I have every right to share, thought I'm holding myself back from making this a Goodyear head office customer case study.

  • I apologize for not responding to a few queries, however due to the unexpected and overwhelming response from this advertisement we ran out of stock within a day for the 225's and I was forced to expire the offer prematurely.
Please note there is still some (not a lot) stock left in the 235/35r19's, 245/35r19's and 245/40r19's. Price is still as indicated.
