Return flights to Japan

Hello,

Looking for return flights to Japan for about 2 weeks in May/June, Sadly, I have missed the boat with some of the previous deals on the site but hoping something might come up.

Jetstar is the lowest I can find at the moment, outbound flight to NRT ~$535 and return ~$502 with 20kg luggage for a few dates during this period.

Cheers

edit: sorry, forgot to mention departing from Melbourne, not fussed on arrival airport (Tokyo/Osaka).

  • Which city in Australia are you departing from? And which city in Japan are you going? Are you going to Narita or any city in japan is ok?

  • Air asia Sydney to Nagoya return is sold about $600. For example, 5 June Sydney-Nagoya $329
    18 June Nagoya-Sydney $271

    • Thanks Yasui, I'll check out Melb to Nagoya

      • If you're from Melbourne, I think jetstar is convenient but costs bit more. You would want to take Air Asia if price is important. However That would take longer time.

Might that be of any use to you? :)

  • oops forgot to mention departing from Melbourne, not picky on arrival airport though it looks like alot of flights are to either Haneda or Narita

  • Cathay pacifc costs about $1166. This might be good depending on which city in Japan you want to go, as they fly to various locations (eg Osaka, Fukuoka, sapporo, Nagoya etc.) in Japan at same price. Also, if you are going to Tokyo, hands airport is closer and convenient than Narita.

  • i love japan cleanest country

    • …except for the smokers everywhere.

  • If you're not fussed on arrival airport I assume you've got JR pass lined up? If not definitely wouldn't recommend landing in Nagoya, not much sightseeing compared to either Kansai region or Tokyo.

Just keep in mind with airasia after you add seat selection, food, baggage etc etc the price gets bumped up substantially plus you lose the best part of a day from your itinerary - depends on how much the convenience of the direct flight (jetstar/qantas/JAL) is worth to you but if you can stretch the budget it'll make the flight a lot easier.

  • Jetstar are starting Melbourne to Japan direct in June.

  • I found some Vietnam airlines deal at a little over 800 to Tokyo. Eg. Date 14-20 May. However long transit is required. The airline will provide accommodation in ho chi ming city.

  • Thanks all, ended up booking with the Jetstar deal posted today (about ~630 return with baggage)
