    My friend still uses one.
He likes to shake it in iPhone users faces yelling "I use it to make phone calls!"
Would be funnier if I didn't have an iPhone.

    • +6

      He sounds annoying and pretenious.

if you are young and single, this phone is SO STRONG that simply by using this phone in public will magically keep away all members of the opposite sex!

Actually in Japan, there are still quite a lot of users of flip phones which are called 'gara-kei'. Kind of interesting as you'd think Japan as the forefront of mobile technology yet they still refuse to give up on feature phones.

And over there, women rate men as more attractive if they owned a feature phone..

      • Besides from a network/data perspective, Japan has never been on the forefront on mobile devices. That's a myth.

        • +1

          yeah, no.

My first phone in Japan was a camera phone back in 2005. even then it was old.

I used to teach english at Panasonic/Matsushita mobile phone development lab in Sendai. They were working on some pretty awesome stuff back in 2006-2008. At the time they were working on prototypes to be released 6 years later.

Great phone, compared to iphone and galaxys this phone kills it in every way. durability, weight, sexyness, I could go on! And talk about the price! These phones should be the new era of phones, best defence tool ever!, imagine if these where advertised on tv again.

I'm sure all the oldies have this phone, the younger generation needs to ozbargain this phone, they don't know what they are missing out!

    • +2

I'm going to have to dig out the old 3310 and the 3315 next time I'm at my parents place

  • ozbargained !!!!!!

  • damm this phones's battery last for a week :) LOL

    • Not suprising, been using some cheap low tier samsungs that last 2+ weeks.

  • "…demand for them is growing, according to reports out of Europe, where some of these second-hand models are fetching prices as high as 1000 euros ($1500) a piece."

    http://www.news.com.au/technology/oldschool-mobiles-make-com…

    I'll take 100 units, kthxbai.

    • Surely no one in their right mind would pay $1500 for one of these?

      • It does seem odd considering there are still new feature phones being made with similar feature sets/durability. I guess it is like the phones with flappy bird installed "selling" for $10000 on eBay.

        • $1500 just seems crazy when you could have the literally any phone you wanted from Telstra (with change). Whether or not you like 3310's when you have $1500 to spend you could buy a Galaxy + a dozen spare batteries.

  • Good stuff

My first phone was the 5110. When I got my hands on the 3310 I couldn't believe how small it was, ah the memories :)

    • +1

Still keep one in my car as it was the factory fit model for the phone cradle in Benz's of that era!

  • +2

Perfect, now I can build that house I've always wanted. I hope they have 8,000 of them available.

  • it only works if you "add a battery" so it comes out to $20?

  • +1

Drop test nokia lumia vs 3310

  • The previous 3210 was the phone that could survive a nuclear blast. I always felt this model of Nokia onwards was when the company started to fall apart. Still a decent phone though!

  • 100+ votes, it might hit couple hundred by tomoro, and with maybe 1000 clicks lol.

    • only took 1 hour mate

  • I gathered somewhere just the other day that this model sold 136 million units and that laid end-to-end said number of phones would have stretched from Nokia's HQ in Finland to Peru. Something ridiculous like that anyway.

Edit: Just clicked on your link, scotty. Chile, instead of Peru. I was close!

This was my first mobile phone and I like so much. The ringtone is louder than any smartphone nowadays. It can be used as vibrator because it is very tough and very powerful.

    Price beat at Office Works?

  • The 3310 made sold units 136million and iphone 4 had 1.7million, the phone was pretty near the iphone margins, least the 3310 made a large profit like iPhones, just a little less in sales.

Fist phone was 5110 - 5210, 8210-8310 and the blue screen butterfly button one" the. Came in the 3310 as a gift I think, and lastly nokia was 6230!! All share there simalarites!

    Long live nokia!

This phone wont chew up you data allowance ever.

    • +2

True, but the cost of all of the Jamster ringtones will still ruin your life, and The Crazy Frog ringtone will rob you of your sanity. Worked for me.

      • +2

Lol even those are too modern for this. This phone did have that cool in-built ringtone composer though!

        • From horrid memory, you could still buy the crappy non-polyphonic ringtones for the basic Nokia models. I quite chillingly remember some of the monophonic versions of the popular ones.
          Disappointing, and extra-maddening…

  • I want one and I don't want one ^_^

  • wow, 84 pieces sold !!! cheers.

    Used to own one?

I'm still using one. And it's RED. ;-p

  • What GSM band is it? Suitable for Tel$tra?

  • -3

too many positive votes for a refurb with menus in another language.

    • You missed the point, the phone's Display Resolution is 96*65, that's 6,240=6K.

      • I get that it's a joke post and we're nostalgic about the device, but to me plus votes on the deal mean the actual bargain is of value. but it's not.
It's not rare that a store is selling refurb 3310's, lots of other shops are selling them too.

        • +3

Can you find other shops that sell them for less than $14 delivered?

    http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Refurbished-Nokia-8250-Cell-P…

Edit: I'm an idiot, I actually bought one. Wanted one as a kid, now I get what I want!

    • 8250 is a lot more fragile. We had one in 2000, dropped a few times and needed some chip replacement. Died 4 1/2 years later with case falling apart and antenna couldn't get any signal.

      • +3

I remember spending actual money to mod the 8210 to look like an 8250 and add a blue back light…memories

        • Remember those radiation activated LED stickers on the back?!

      • Oops sorry yes I had the 8210, not the blue-backlit 8250. It's nice to have infrared so I can get it to talk to my Palm Pilot, but definitely not as tough as 3310.

  • LOL!! Dont F@&k with these guys
