Notes

  • Minimum $50 spend per transaction.
  • Discount also applies to postage.
  • A maximum discount of $100 applies to each transaction (Transactions totalling at least $666.67 including postage will give you the maximum $100 discount).
  • Up to 3 transactions per person.
  • Payment must be done through PayPal.
  • Discount can be applied to items sold by overseas sellers, as long as you checkout on eBay.com.au.
  • You can purchase multiple items (even from different sellers) in one transaction by adding them to your cart. However, make sure all items are in the same currency. Otherwise, you'll have to checkout in each currency separately and each currency you checkout with will count as a separate transaction.
  • PayPal transactions will show the full amount after the purchase. However, if you login to your PayPal account, find the transaction(s), and click details, you will see a 15% contribution from eBay plus your actual charge to your funding source which makes up the difference. The total needs be 100% because the seller gets 100%. eBay just pays the 15% and you pay the rest. It should look something like this http://i.imgur.com/afbCvki.jpg (Image courtesy of ezarc - Obtained from previous 15% off offer).
  • Items can be 'purchased' before the promotion starts (ie. Auctions ending before 10am Sunday). Payment is to be made during the promotion period with the coupon code applied at checkout.
  • Don't forget to claim your 2% Cash Rewards cash back.
  • Or earn 2 Virgin Velocity Points for every $1 spent from Virgin Velocity.

      • +1

well, given that the Sony PS4 Destiny Bundle White + The last of us is on sale for $518 at DSE website, I'm having difficulty taking your comment seriously.

        • +4

          @PBG:

well, if your criteria of taking people seriously is based on how frequently they post, good luck to you in life and i should add, i'm flattered that you checked my profile.

i've been monitoring the ps4 prices at dse ebay/dse for couple of weeks, and yes i missed out on the $399 deal because of my laziness. i'm pretty sure in the last couple of weeks, it didn't rise above $500.

as for the fluctuations in prices, i would understand a fluctuation up to couple of percentage points. for example, if you had unpurchased items in your cart at amazon.com, you can actually track changes in prices of those items and i've never seen a movement that big in one scoop.

but when that increase is %14 that's quite suspicious.

my guess is, dse wants to push the destiny bundle through the door and they are forcing that by making the ebay deal unattractive.

        • +3

          @PBG:
if that's really the best response you could come up with, this conversation is over.

        • Speak to the hand!

  • +1

Anyone know if this offer only apply to store items or everything including private sell items?
    Cheers

  • +1

Last time I just used the coupon for 'buy it now' items. How does it work for auctions? i.e. Does the auction have to finished during the coupon dates, or can I bid & win an auction before the coupon is active and then pay using the coupon?

    • So as long as it's buy it now or auctions ends within the offer period, it will be ok?

      Cheers

  • +15

Prices are getting JACKED UP already. I had bookmarked a laptop last night @ $449 and this morning it is $473.

That merchant just lost my purchase.

Bunch of dogs the guys who do this.

    • +2

If it's from the US, it's because our dollar dropped.

  • +7

Last time eBay ran this deal I posted it on my Facebook and my cousin in Hong Kong laughed at "you Australians" for getting all excited over 15% discount. LOL.

    • i dont get it

Are you suggesting your cousin is stupid/petty
Or does he get 15% all day everyday

because although prices in Australia are always higher, we get much deeper discounts when it counts

      • +1

perhaps his cousin gets 25% off ebay HK

      • +2

Yeah, living in Hong Kong means that she can regularly buy stuff at more than 15% off compared to what it costs in Australia anyway.

But as to getting "much deeper discounts when it counts" - it sounds like you've never gone shopping in Asia/Europe during one of their peak sale seasons. If you have, then you'd know what an actual sale is supposed to be like. 15% off would be a joke - heck, even the 40% off every-other-week sales like Myer regularly runs would be considered little (granted, it's conditioned me to never pay more, 'coz you can almost rely on there being another sale is just around the corner).

70 - 95% off would be more like it.

So yeah, happy to take bets on who's the more stupid/petty one out of me or my cousin. Hint: I'm betting against myself :-P

        • -8

You can tell her unfortunately she needs to put up with a shitty governament plus the air pollution and overcrowded with mainlanders, especially those without manners.

Not really worth it to regularly get that 15% off putting up with all that. You should be the one laughing not her…get it right

Hence you have the better bargain

        • +10

          @neonlight:

          Shitty govt - check
          Air pollution - check
Overcrowded with mainlanders - totally racist, but check

You could just as easily be talking about Sydney :-)

        • +3

          "shitty government"

we have one right here mate

        • @zzyss: lol, ain't that the truth

  • +2

ebay just sent me an invite for 150 "free listings" from the 11-14th september…. smart advertising ebay ;)

    • yep got that too… :) "Join the seller-brations! Pay no listing or final value fees on up to 15 items. "

      • damn… i wish i got that one :(

      • +1

No final value fees?? Really? Thats awesome

      • +1

        got the email too

title says "Join the seller-brations! Pay no listing or final value fees on up to 15 items. "

        but under "what's excluded?"

        FVF, featured fees are excluded…

        im a little confused!

        • +1

Was just going to post that Syl… Confusing indeed.

      • Got that email too. Rang ebay and they said it was a "system glitch" and there will be final value fees on all listings.

        • I haven't received a correction on that initial email…..

    • is it showing up on your ebay account as well? or just your email

    • ebay spams that email to everyone.

  • Anyone find a decent deal for a Sony A7 that includes the Cashback offer?

    • +4

      type in "sony A7"

  • Might be time for a oneplus one upgrade ;)

    • Thinking about the same. Do you happen to see any good eBay deal for OnePlus One?

      • Prices from place like dwi seem pretty standard…
Hoping someone else has some seller recommendations ;)

    • +15

Did you read anything other than the title? :)

    • +3

you are a seller's worst nightmare.

  • Do you get the discount if you buy now, and pay on Sunday?

    • +1

Hasn't worked that way in the past. Need to buy and purchase during the offer period

      • Wrong. I've done this with a previous Sunday sale.

        • just spoke to a staff at eBay, you can buy now and pay during offer period.

  • How do you get the 2% cash rewards cashback?

    • +1

simply sign in or join at www.cashrewards.com.au and click through from cashrewards to eBay and shop as normal and a few days later your 2% rewards will appear in your cashrewards account.

  • So to help with selling stuff, it would be better to list stuff on Sunday morning I guess as there will be more buyers on there?

    • +1

list anytime with 'buy it now', ensure your listed auctions end during the promo period

  • -3

Anyone know if this will work with a buy it now item from a private seller?
    thanks

    • I'm no eBay newbie but not sure what your on about, you mean like a private seller for an automobile? It's capped at $100 buddy

      • nah, i am simply talkng about an item from a private seller which is only $400 for a buy it now prices.

  • Which are the best Australian retailers with eBay stores? DickSmith, Good Guys, BCF, JBHiFi. Ones with actual stock…

    • I assume Kogan will amaze us again!!!

  • +12

I remember the time where ebay was pretty much the cheapest place for everything.

now ebay sellers have to add ebay fees to cover the costs.
e.g Need a new clutch for my car soon
    wholesale is $1700
    retail is $1800
    Ebay $1998

there was a time where you could have found it less then retail on ebay. Even if I got the ebay seller to split it into 3 auctions (most will) I wouldn't be much better off buying retail.

    • never mind.. got in contact with the seller, and they are making me a personalized listing.

  • Air Jordan Retro time!!!!!

  • +2

What version of LG G2 should i grab from ebay. There are few sellers selling D800, D802, D803 etc….

    • D2R2

      • +3

        Don't you mean R2D2?

    • +1

D802 is the international version which I got from the last deal. Don't know about the others only that this version works great for me.

    • +2

D800 is designed for US (AT&T) market… it will work in Australia however won't work on UMTS 900. So not ideal if you are on Optus 3G. Also 4G support is limited frequencies but it supports 700MHz

I would recommend to get the D802 which is an international version.

  • Please!! I need some suggestions of what to buy (ideas for personal use or even as gifts! :D ) don't wanna miss all those savings!

    • +31

Simple rule..If you don't kn0w what to buy then don't buy and you'll save 100%. Don't let this discount force you to spend your hard earned money..

      • -1

You can save by buying visa/eftpos gift cards

        • +1

Be wary of the T&Cs. Gift cards/certificates/vouchers are excluded from this offer. eBay reserves the right to disallow or reverse a discount in circumstances where it believes a sale or purchase of any item as part of this sale has not been made in good faith

        • Excluded.

      • lol - if you have to tell them, they didn't read your message anyway.

  • -3

    For those wondering:
