Notes

  • Minimum $50 spend per transaction.
  • Discount also applies to postage.
  • A maximum discount of $100 applies to each transaction (Transactions totalling at least $666.67 including postage will give you the maximum $100 discount).
  • Up to 3 transactions per person.
  • Payment must be done through PayPal.
  • Discount can be applied to items sold by overseas sellers, as long as you checkout on eBay.com.au.
  • You can purchase multiple items (even from different sellers) in one transaction by adding them to your cart. However, make sure all items are in the same currency. Otherwise, you'll have to checkout in each currency separately and each currency you checkout with will count as a separate transaction.
  • PayPal transactions will show the full amount after the purchase. However, if you login to your PayPal account, find the transaction(s), and click details, you will see a 15% contribution from eBay plus your actual charge to your funding source which makes up the difference. The total needs be 100% because the seller gets 100%. eBay just pays the 15% and you pay the rest. It should look something like this http://i.imgur.com/afbCvki.jpg (Image courtesy of ezarc - Obtained from previous 15% off offer).
  • Items can be 'purchased' before the promotion starts (ie. Auctions ending before 10am Sunday). Payment is to be made during the promotion period with the coupon code applied at checkout.
  • Don't forget to claim your 2% Cash Rewards cash back.
  • Or earn 2 Virgin Velocity Points for every $1 spent from Virgin Velocity.

Can you buy an item prior to Sunday and pay for it during the sale with the discount code?

    • May be I asked another way can I add to cart now and buy on Sunday?

      • +1

You could do that any time, but if the item was to sell to someone else you'd miss out.

    • +1

I'd also like confirmation on this.

I had an issue during the 20% off toy sale where I had to request the shipping cost from the seller and specify pickup. They then reissue the invoice without the shipping. But being a business they only responded during business hours and the toy sale was over. I'm fortunate they agreed to mutually cancel the purchase.

I'm hoping to commit to buy the item tomorrow (Friday), have them reissue the invoice without the shipping cost and purchase on Sunday at 15% off.

I know the sale goes until Monday night, however it still relies on them reissuing the invoice without the shipping cost on the Monday. Seems silly that eBay make you commit to buy prior to having a final shipping cost.

    • +2

I already asked this exact same thing earlier and somebody said that if it's anything like the previous sales, no. It has to be purchased on the day.

  • Ive got 2 items that I'm yet to pay for that i bought before i found out about this 15% off. Ill post up here if by any luck, the coupon code does indeed work so maybe it might be of some use to somebody

    • I think you'd have to buy and pay in the offer period.

  • Hi guys, which retailer do you usually buy your sneakers and runners from on eBay ?

    • +1

Do your research, but I highly recommend wiggle. I bought runners from wiggle which was cheaper than ebay ($45 difference).

  • So, the Moto G LTE should be about $200 delivered from DWI? Does that seem pretty good?

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/BRAND-NEW-SALE-MOTOROLA-XT1039-MO…

  • Can I use this for coming Sunday, as I convinced the seller to give me a $4 discount.

They asked me to provide them an order number once I purchase, and they would issue you $4 refund as a discount.

IMO, it should works as once I checkout and pay, it is full price, then only they refunded me after the transaction went through.

Let me know what you guys think?

If it does it will be free Paypal $5 from earlier ozbargain, 15% off the item this sunday, and $4 off from seller, as well as $3 off for stacked postage.

  • -1

If I buy something today and pay for it on Sunday, can I still get the 15% discount?

    • try learning to read the posts.

the question has been asked and answered several times.

could answer you directly, but you would back wasting someone else's time later.

    • +1

      Yes

    • -5

      Yes

    • +4

Apologies, I can't retract my neg, leeroys_dad and PGB. Looks like we have some updated info, courtesy of ebay's FB page.

  • The T&C says 10 am but the press release says 12 am. Not sure which T_T

    • +2

10am as mentioned in the Post. The time has been verified by the T&C and eBay Reps on Facebook

  • +1

Will it work even on bid items ?
Also can i purchase a bid item today and pay on Sunday to avail the discount…
e.g. there is another person selling X on bid , I win the bid today i.e.Friday, but hold the payment until Sunday , just to avail the discount.
    Will it work ?

    • Yes

  • -4

is it $100 max per person, or $100 max per each transactions? means is i make 3 transaction with each of $666.67 can i get a total discount of $300($100 per each $666.67 spending?) can someone please confirm this? Cheers

    • +1

Read the post again. It's in the notes.

    • Yes, that's correct

That 13" is what I would like to go for. My only concern is the import tax I might be facing as the value of that macbook is more than $1000 even though I will pay less. Has anyone ever experienced this issue, maybe at the previous eBay sale with kogan, or will I be fine?

  • +3

One Plus One 64GB @ $398.65 delivered from DWI seem to be a good price considering AUD have drop to 0.905USD today. Invte price of USD349/0.905 = AUD385.64 before shipping cost and US forwarder (i.e shipto) cost.

  • If we buy something that 15% off equals to more than 100$, what does it do? Cap the discount to 100$ or deny the code altogether?

    • Capped to $100

      • Excellent, thank you :)

  • .deleted

  • Does the amount discounted include the shipping fee? Or Does Not 15% the shipping fee?

    • +1

      Including.

  • +1

looking at buying a bunch of brewing supplies from a seller that has a flat $10 postage on multiple items.
their listings say not to go through the checkout, and to request an invoice, so they can work out the postage.

I assume I can buy this on sunday, the they should send me the invoice before the 48 hours is up, and I can pay for it..
with cash rewards, will I not get reward money if I dont pay for it straight away?

  • +3

Put a watch on all your wanted items, when the time comes every price might go up on Sunday!

Time to put your stuff to sell and hope someone more likely to buy it than usual

  • Killer deals last time round… can't wait!

  • -1

Just want to confirm the procedure of getting cashbacks,
1:)Do I just put some items into my cart on Ebay.com.au,
    2:)then login cashrewards account,click "ebay"-go to store,
3:)click my cart and check out-,put the redeem code and
    4:)PAY???????
    Thanks!

    • +2

      not quite..

1 add the items you're interested in to your watch list
      2 login to cashrewards
3 find ebay and click through
4 login to your ebay account
5 add the items in your watch list to cart
      6 enter code
      7 pay
      8 ???
      9 profit

      • From cashreward: Do NOT add products to the ebay wishlist and purchase/bid over 24 hours later

        • Wish list or watch list? They're separate lists

I've always got my credits with items I've added to cart that we're sitting in my watch list for days or even weeks.

Any noteworthy GPU's Preferably under 300, to purchase with this deal? I'm looking to build a PC.

  • -5

"To redeem this offer, enter the redemption code into the redemption code box…"

Will the redemption code be announced on Sunday?

    • +2

Mate. Go back to the top and read.

    • +9

Yes that was hilarious the first twenty times that's been posted in the comments

  • +4

ps4 Console has gone up on dse ebay site. Now $618

    • Boo - that's one of the things I am looking at for tomorrow.

    • +1

I'm pretty sure it's been like that the day before previous deals as well, they may well drop it down again.

  • How did people go with buying prepaid credit cards last time? Anyone know of any on eBay?

    • +2

It will probably be affected by this rule

Gift cards/certificates/vouchers are excluded from this offer.

    • I bought one last time and was fine but they but the price up so end up saving only 50

  • The stores selling grey imports of cameras and phones obviously don't provide a tax invoice right?

    • +2

as you aren't paying GST, any invoice they provided would contain $0 tax…

  • +1

I've read the OP & and the comments, I haven't bought in eBay for while and using this cart system, so apologies in advance but my understanding to get the discount as follows (as an example):

I have three items in my cart from three different sellers. These three items have a total cost (including shipping) of $51.
I can pay for these three items in one payment transaction on eBay to qualify for the discount?

Do pre-orders that haven't been released qualify?

    • Yes, all the items in your cart will be paid for in one transaction, provided all three items are in the same currency. If you can pay for the pre order tomorrow, the same discount will apply.

  • +1

    7. Multiple items may be purchased in one transaction (but total transaction discount will be capped at $100).

Does this mean you can combine items from different sellers, or is the cart specific? (I've never used the Ebay cart, didn't know it existed). Have one smaller priced item in mind which doesn't meet the $50 min spend qualification but can add it to another.

Edit: Lol, same question as above.

    • +4

Does this mean you can combine items from different sellers,

Yes. The cart is your friend on these types of deals.

      • Thanks

  • I'm toying with the idea of getting a Sony Z1 Compact or maybe a 1+1 64Gb (Blk) or a LG G3 during this promo.
I'm surprised that there wasn't many Z1 compacts on ebay, how come?, is that due to it been a good seller/demand?

Q1> How many versions are there for this phone?, I might be using Optus 3 or 4g soon. (I'm with amaysim 3G atm).
Q2> I see some listings for a Z1f DOCOMO,example - (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/301308923749?ssPageName=STRK:MEWA…), whats the go with docomo? Is it a type of Rom?

    I'm not up to date with the whole mess with the 1+1 invite system, so I have a few Q's about it;

Q1> Am I right in saying that the cheapest way to get it is directly from them, But only with a invite?, and then only with using a US forwarding site like shipto?

Q2> Is the international version the one to get vs Chinese versions with other Rom's (Miui, etc) that they install prior to shipping?

Q3> Which would be the best ebay seller to get it from (DWI?) or to avoid?

Yes I can do research on these Q's, but wont have much time to do so before Sunday.

Any help would be great, I can see that the 1+1 will be very sought after.

    • +1

DoCoMo is a Japanese teleco, so it's a bit like saying Telstra branded phone

      • Thanks heaps for that. I'll guess I'll avoid them.
I wish they did a 32Gb or 64Gb version, as I would be absolutely sold on getting it.

Anyone with a spare 1+1 invite?

        • +2

Might be worth mentioning, most if not all Docomo phones are unlocked.

    • +1

Have you look at JB Hifi Sony Z1 Compact deal? It was $386 after their $200 discount voucher

      • Hi Zhenjie,

Edit: I found the deal now, I hope is active, checking it out now.
Cant find blk on JBHI site, damn, hate white.
Edit 2: Just got their instant deal email, but no mention about that deal, looks like I missed it.
Edit 3: It does look like I missed out, found Trent's comment in that post, deal ended on the 9th,nooooooo :(

Do you have a link on that deal?, as there is no mention about it on JBHI site.

I had a quick look on here, but I must blind, I cant any post about it.

How long ago was that deal?

        Cheers

        • +1

Bugger, you must have just missed it as I picked up one last week. I wanted Black too but happy to go White if the price is right.

Didn't see many well priced Z1 Compacts on eBay either. Good luck with the hunt!

        • @zhenjie:
Thanks, I dont know how I missed that deal, I would have jumped on it without thinking about it.

  • +1

Items in my cart so far:
    - indoor foldable floor chair
    - Thrustmaster T.16000M (for star citizen and elite:d)
    - leather case for my 8" tablet
    - 10,000yen psn credit
    - straw hat

    • +1

Why the straw hat? It doesn't look like you'll be going outside anytime soon. Or is it an indoor straw hat?

      • +3

i need it to complete the set bonus

      • That you Luffy? :P

    • Added:
      - Logitech G700s Wireless Mouse $65

  • +1

I have read the notes and the posts, still not clear..can I apply the voucher tomorrow and pay for an item I won in auction earlier this week? Thanks

    • You can try but its never worked in the past. Previously you've needed to buy/win the item and pay all during the promotional period for the code to work. Try anyway since you have already won it and then let us know how it goes

    • +3

      From their facebook page

Hi Ken, the 15% sale works across both auctions and buy it now items. Any payment made after 10am on Sunday and before 11:59pm on Monday (AEST) will have the discount taken off the payment. Just remember, we'll need you to pay via paypal for us to take the 15% off. Happy shopping!

So it sounds like as long as you make the payment after 10am Sunday you get the discount regardless of when the purchase was made.

    • +3

Yup, another post from their facebook page which was made 9 minutes ago.

"Hi Celia, yes you are able to purchase something today - the discount will apply if payment is made during the promotional period. However we advise you let the seller know. Happy eBay-ing!"

      • do you want to risk it though? - not really in the T&Cs

    • Looks like we have some updated info, courtesy of ebay's FB page.

    • I have updated this thread (may be too late) to confirm that I was indeed able to get the 15% of an item I purchased last Monday. Good timing. Unfortunately cashrewards was down and I had already fixed with the guy for pickup. Still saved $20, am happy.

  • The real question is what to buy?
I just purchased a $200 2nd hand laptop last week on ebay, theoretically lost $30.
    Min spend $50 :(

    • +1

If it makes you feel any better just 3 days ago I bought a 3DS-XL(2012) for $245 so I potentially lost $37 smackaroos… :-(

      sigh such bad timing…

On the bright side I did go through Cashrewards & got $5 cashback bringing it down to $240, but still…

      • I'm only just discovering the value of cash rewards just now…note to self Must not get complacent with saving money!

        • "It all adds up" & "every little bit counts" best sums it up.

  • +1

im having a hard time trying to understand why we cant buy more than one item in a different currency. Unfortunately all the items i want to purchase are in the US, UK and AU.
The terms and condition doesn't mention anything about currency rule and zenjie's notes. In addition, last time this deal was on, i was able to purchase from different sellers from all around the world.

can anyone shed any light on this.

    • +2

I think it's the way the Ebay shopping cart works. It automatically treats each new currency as a different transaction.

  • What do you think about this ladder guys?
We are after a 2.4m ladder ( no extension) shipped.

    http://m.ebay.com.au/itm/251616970089?nav=SEARCH

    • +12

It's a step up, but getting more info may be a bit of a climb…

  • it seems the price of items from overseas has go up compare to last week.

    • +5

The AUD has dropped over the past week.

      • Indeed it has. What terrible timing. That 15% off seems to soon only be covering the change in exchange rate. :/

      • Yeah it sux maybe just aus sellers

        • It only dropped 3.5c against the USD. which isn't that bad….. Just lost about 2-3%.
I highly doubt it will drop any futher of 90c against USD. Only way it will drop another 15% to make the discount nothing is if another plane hits some famous structure in US.

        • @lplau: Is it worth to wait until Monday night to make purchase?

  • would it work if we purchase items now and pay when the 15% promotion is on ?

    • +1

Have a read of some of the comments above or control+find.

Facebook reps said it's OK but it's not explicitly stated in the t&c

    • I'm banking on this being ok. T&C are pretty vague and I'm not sure a facebook message is exactly binding or likely to be correct.
I guess if it's just a coupon code used in paypal they wouldn't be able to actually limit it by when the auction ended, only limit the hours the coupon itself is valid to be used… so yay, 64Gb iPhone 5 for $300 here I come.

  • With the whole ensuring that the currency is the same at checkout. Isn't it if u search on eBay.com.au that they show Aussie converted price and you always pay in aud no matter where the item is located?

    • No. Some overseas sellers list in other currencies. They show the converted price but you are still actually paying in foreign currency.
