Notes

  • Minimum $50 spend per transaction.
  • Discount also applies to postage.
  • A maximum discount of $100 applies to each transaction (Transactions totalling at least $666.67 including postage will give you the maximum $100 discount).
  • Up to 3 transactions per person.
  • Payment must be done through PayPal.
  • Discount can be applied to items sold by overseas sellers, as long as you checkout on eBay.com.au.
  • You can purchase multiple items (even from different sellers) in one transaction by adding them to your cart. However, make sure all items are in the same currency. Otherwise, you'll have to checkout in each currency separately and each currency you checkout with will count as a separate transaction.
  • PayPal transactions will show the full amount after the purchase. However, if you login to your PayPal account, find the transaction(s), and click details, you will see a 15% contribution from eBay plus your actual charge to your funding source which makes up the difference. The total needs be 100% because the seller gets 100%. eBay just pays the 15% and you pay the rest. It should look something like this http://i.imgur.com/afbCvki.jpg (Image courtesy of ezarc - Obtained from previous 15% off offer).
  • Items can be 'purchased' before the promotion starts (ie. Auctions ending before 10am Sunday). Payment is to be made during the promotion period with the coupon code applied at checkout.
  • Don't forget to claim your 2% Cash Rewards cash back.
  • Or earn 2 Virgin Velocity Points for every $1 spent from Virgin Velocity.

      • Is there a way to check? Adding to cart isn't a commitment to purchase yet right?

        • The currency will be listed in the item description.

        • Is there a way to check?

In the search list if the price is italics then the item is denominated in non-AUD. If the price is not italics then the item is denominated in AUD

  • What is the promotion code for the cash rewards?

    /confused

    face palm

    • No code. It's purchasing via using the links at cashrewards.com.au. You'll need to sign up.

    • Once you're in cashrewards website (with your own account), click through to the ebay store from cash rewards. Then make your purchase. In doing so, it recognises that you have clicked through to ebay from cash rewards and cash rewards will reward you the 2%

  • Hi. Does anyone know if this will apply to the Sunday Big 5-Minute Deals? Not quite sure how the deals work since I've never bought an item.

    Thanks!

  • -1

This may be a dumb question, but once you receive the 15% difference as shown as the voucher amount in ezarc's pic, do you just transfer that money to your bank or is it just a credit that must be used via PayPal?

I dont use Paypal much, so not sure.

    T.I.A

    • +3

When you go to pay - it will show the full amount that requires payment
When you apply the code, paypal will cover the 15% (this is what the "voucher" is) , and you need to pay the remaining 85%

Its not a credit, the 15% is used immediately to the cost of your product. So you only pay 85% of it (ie 15% discount)

  • +1

Does anyone remember if the code is entered in the eBay checkout page or in the PayPal payment page? Thanks.

    • +2

    • +1

i been watching prices on a few things im buying and so far till now prices have stayed the same till this morning

    • +1

Prices on Canon and Nikon DSLRs are still absurdly high from Dick Smith, Harvey Norman on eBay. I suspect it's because there is a cashback promotion running for authorised canon/nikon sellers. You could potentially get $150 off a Canon 700D, and $100 with the eBay coupon, but the prices are marked up way to much. Better off shopping at Digidirect or other authorised resellers.

      • +1

tl;dr Dick Smith hasn't jacked up their prices on the cameras I've been watching.

I was watching the Canon SX50HS which has a $50 cashback. It's still at $299 and has been since their lunch time special a few days ago when it was at $249. I couldn't decide to part with the money and look into the camera's pros and cons but in the end I regretted missing the deal. So I added a $1.89 cable and grabbed it with the $40 discount on the DSE website yesterday. I could have saved another $7 or so if I'd waited till today but I wasn't sure how it would pan out and didn't want to miss it again. It had been picked in about an hour and I already have a tracking number for tomorrow so I'm not complaining. Even $299 is the lowest price according to staticice.

There's a lot I don't like about DSE, but I've gotten some real bargains lately.

    • +1

      Hah good old Dick Smith

    Intel Core i5-4460 $191.25
    WD Caviar Green 2TB 3.5" $80.495
    $
    • that samsung evo 840 is $79 at msy… shame no others are lower…

      • I'm finding PC parts in general have a 10 to 15% markup on ebay anyway, which is disappointing. Probably to cover the ebay/paypal fee gouging.

Even with 15% off, it only brings the PC parts down to around staticice prices.

      • MSY is $78 sounds like retail version. Ebay SSD please be beware of its OEM version.

  • How solid is the cashrewards linking system? If you click through from CR then do a lot of browsing within ebay, looking at different products, adding to cart, etc.. Should you wait till everything is added to cart then use the CR click through link again or does it always remember? Can you click through to multiple tabs or should you only use one?

    • I really hope someone answers this as I would like to know too. I can't see how it (Cashrewards) could keep track of your details when you browse around on eBay opening multiple new tabs and such.

  • +2

If only they'd put my car insurance on ebay…
