Tablet or iPad Options under $150?

Hi All,

I'm after advise, suggestions or knowledge or great bargains for a reliable and easy to use tablet or Ipad (second hand) under approx $150 for my uncle.
He had just had eye surgery so a bigger screen is an advantage but not a necessity. He has had a major stroke which sometimes eaves him confused so I want a tablet that is easy to use.
For the most part he just wants to be able to do simple Web browsing and take photos.
I am looking for either a refurbished a Nexus 2012 or an Ipad Mini.

I wasn't able to find a decent tablet under $150 that wasn't used or refurbished but there is a 8 inch Acer tablet from Officeworks for $167

There is also a 10.1 inch Pendopad for $139. While it is cheap, it is a fairly low end tablet (512MB of RAM as opposed to the Acer's 1GB)

And If you're open to an imported overseas tablet you could try this Cube 3G tablet

  So the cost would be $167 minus $29 cashback = $138. I have the predecessor to this model, the A1-810, and the -830 is a tad smaller in every dimension, a fraction lighter, seems to have a brighter screen (I haven't compared them side by side) and is quicker/smoother in operation.
  
  A refurb Nexus 7 is better in most respects, except that your uncle would probably appreciate the bigger size of the Acer A1.

I bought one of these 10" a while back and been very happy with it. It is responsive for basic use and the kids use it to play games without any issues

  However according to past deals a lot of people have noted the N7 refurbs have a rather high return rate. I'd be looking at a store that offers at least 12 months of warranty.

I think I'll send my dad to pick up on it the Asus from Centecom. It's a good size, decent price and a case is available at a decent price.
Hopefully they are able to get one. :)
