In old posts and discussions, 247thesteven was not associated with gearbest. Just an observation - May be he was associated recently ?!!

That's correct, but that is in US dollars. US$41.79 -> AUD$47.47 (change the currency on the top right). This one is AUD$45.42. A saving of $2.05. Enough to buy $2 hungry jacks whooper

Not sure if this is true, but just contacted GearBest and they are apparently moving over to HongKong Post soon. Hopefully this will provide better delivery times

Received my g1wh Dashcam yesterday. Good product and a great price. Received it in about 5 - 6 weeks since order date

    • +5

      Or just sloppy sockpuppeting.

  • +7

Still haven't gotten my G1W from them from the deal ages ago, pay the extra bucks and save yourself the shipping nightmare.

    • Hi JEEVUS,

Could you please tell me you order number? Please reply me soon so that I can check this for you ASAP.

      Best,
      Gearbest

      • I'm still waiting for my dashcam too!

        • Where's my elephant?

  • If only I wasn't paying off my LG G3. Love the specs on this Oneplus One. Nice work.

  • So what did GearBest do wrong?

    • history of very slow shipping on OzB promoted items.

    • +26

What is wrong with this deal:

      • The rep lied about the exclusive offer to ozbargain.

      • The phone is not a great price(marginally cheaper), it is the same price at other stores.

      • Using cash back website (starthere / cashrewards) it is cheaper through DWI on ebay.

      • Their shipping is notoriously slow (months)

      • Questionable warranty support

      • Great and helpful list, I decided not to buy from them.

      • Agreed.

  • +1

Phone seems similar in spec to a note 3(4g), which sell for 519 + shipping from kogan with 1 year local warranty.
cant see how risking $400-$470 and have potential yellow banding and touch screen issues is worth it.

    • +3

Here is an interesting Hardware comparision between OPO and Note3

One top of this - OPO comes with CyanogenMod where as Note3 is with Bloated Android (Touchwiz).
Of course S-Pen functionalities can be useful to the Note users.

      • +1

Yes after my Note 2 I will avoid Samsung. Touchwiz is terrible.

And Samsung have beefed up their phone security so if you do flash a custom rom you trip the knox counter and there is no current way to reset this. So warranty is void if you want to go vanilla android.

      • I personally love touchwiz, I had a nexus tablet and I really didn't like the vanilla android.
Samsung also comes with Navigon arguably the best offline gps app.

        • +2

You have to be the only Touchwiz fan in history.

  • +2

A good phone. I will buy it IF not having bad experience with GS with shipping. Be warned, better take free shipping if anyone really wants to buy it as there will be no difference with paying extra for courier shipping…

  • +1

Too bad no micro-sd slot. If it has the slot then this phone is perfect.

    • +2

TBH not a huge big deal that the phone doesnt have micro SD since the 64gb version is only ~$50USD more than the 16gb

      • Still, imagine if you could chuck 128GB in there. 64GB + 128GB = 192GB

  • -1

If no SD slot could you use cloud storage and retrieval at nominal data usage, cost , time and speed to pull back stored items.

  • +4

Wow…first time seeing a deal getting neged beaten the shit out of it like this one :))

    • This is quite normal for gearbest. You should've see past deals from gearbest lol

  • Is there a reason why people wouldn't buy from eGlobal Digital Cameras for $449 incl. delivery? Assuming something is iffy with them given not mentioned in this chain.

    http://www.eglobaldigitalcameras.com.au/oneplus-one-64gb-4g-…

    • That doesnt' include delivery

  • +4

T-Dimension currently selling for AUD 441.71 w/ Free Shipping:

    http://www.t-dimension.com/revamp/-c-1522/oneplus-one-coloso…

They ship via TOLL Express. Usually take less than 5 business days to deliver.

Not to mention it's cheaper than this deal!

    • I was going to ask how reliable T- Dimension was at first, then I did my homework. They are pretty reliable.

  • Well.. that was bad. lol. Thanks for the summary hothed.

  • +1

I bought direct from Oneplus one and it arrived DOA… Had to pay AUD$50 to send it to HK and they refuse to send it back to Australia so freight forwarded again.

Please be aware if it is not working on arrival you are in for about AUD$80-100 more cost and 1-2months.

Personally, I've had enough of dealing with Chinese companies over the internet and will buy local within my budget.

    • +3

That's business the Chinese way. Although as they do more international business they realize they need to change their evil ways.

    • +1

Thats the risk of buying through OnePlus directly, since Australia is not an official launch country for the OPO. Hence having to deliver to US and use a mail forwarder if you want to purchase the international version directly with them.

Makes buying a chinese version from a reseller like DWI more appealing IMO since you get local 12 month warranty.

  • So you cant get one from 1+, but you can for an inflated price from resellers?
Support is supposedly rubbish, I expect this will be the 1st and last 1+ phone until they're done with lawsuits.

  • It can be found cheaper elsewhere and with the added bonus of a significantly higher liklihood of getting the item before 2015.

  • Terrible Company.

  • Looks like the mods have given up on the rules for negging with this post.
This must be the most negged post ever.

    • +2

The rules are exclusive to this post :)

  • Let's hope you guys get yours without dust under your screen. The OPO I got one month ago came with a quite prominent dust particle right in the middle of the screen and even if OnePlus is willing to replace it the shipping costs and time it will require is going to be really annoying.

  • Fart: I just bought this from Gearbest on 10/11/2014 using this deal. I paid the extra $9 for the 'expedited' shipping which says "Estimated Shipping Time: 4 - 7 business days" . I'll let you know when it arrives. Only now do I remember buying some dry bags from the same company, which took so long to arrive I forgot I bought them! Not feeling the love at the moment :-(

  • Nothing in the post yet. No useful reply from Gearbest. Gearbest have implied 3 different postal services they use (australia post, dhl + another I cant remember), tried them all but Tracking number doesnt work on any.

    • +4

Can I ask why you bought this deal after reading the comments?
