    • +2

Their website was built by Harley Davisdon.

  • Thanks OP. Ordered a few reams of printer paper with free shipping for 20c.

  • I'd love a Staples rep to come on here and discuss!

  • Some nice items, but out of stock.

    • that smell could be coming from the office of the guy who's job it was to double check errors on the Staples clearance page

  • +1

How can I be sure my bubble wrap won't get damaged in transit?

    • +3

Obviously it is be packed in bubble wrap.

  • great post, pity all out of stock

  • Has anyone else bought a Hewlett-Packard (HP) LaserJet P4015X Printer CB511A for $99?

Seems very cheap, selling for $2k upwards normally…

    • +1

I was dubious whether there is any stock but it did put it in my basket. I'm sure that's a mistake and they don't really have any stock. But do go ahead and let us know if you manage to buy it, it's a good deal; it's a business quality mono laser printer, networked too. I'm tempted but I don't really need it and can't spare the space it would take up.

  • +10

    • +6

      @cpho

You mean OZB is getting sick of Staples sh1t. Too many suckers not learning about Staples historic Errors.

Didn't bother ordering after the Vacuum debacle.

They say they have not charged your CC.. but they will then after a week it will be cancelled.

  • +1

    404 error :(

  • +1

    Haha…site down

  • +2

    They've finally cracked on. Hide!

  • I didn't get a confirmation email. Weird.

  • +1

Staples is an international company and lets just hope they have nuts big enough to honor the purchases so far

    • +1

previous comments already mentioned Staples's policy where they have no obligation to honor pricing error deals. so I doubt they will honor them.

    • +1

They advertised that NRMA got 15% off orders, but they refused to honor it and charged me $11 more. Emailed them with my membership card details and they ignored it. I doubt if they will honor this one.

      • Same thing happened with me for a previous order, they really suck at fulfilling orders

  • Seems the website has miraculously vanished, not gone down.

  • +15

Their IT peeps must be stress testing their system :)

"hmmm lets see if our system can handle heavy traffic

Step 1: put up extremely cheap price
    Step 2: post on Ozbargain
    step 3: collect results
    "

  • +1

Great, now we have made them go bankrupt.

  • +3

I didn't break it mum…all the other ozbargainers were calling me a ^&*^ for not getting on board. Honest. I was just over there playing with my eneloops and CREE torches. They did it first. Not my fault.

  • Just missed checkout, years supply of napkins gone!

  • Site is back .. with new prices

    Hewlett-Packard (HP) LaserJet P4015X Printer CB511A - was $99, now $299

Oliver 55-239 Lace Up Bumper Toe Safety Boots Claret Size 12 - was $19, now $57
Brother Laser MFC-7229 - no longer listed

  • You can not combine the codes. Even Though they let you order with combined codes actual invoice only accept kne code that what happened with me when I bought hp laserjet 1102w. I pushed my luck with them but it just didnt happened.

  • I received a sales order confirmation email for the second order I put through at the "discount" prices. Still nothing from the first order I put through about 1/2 hour beforehand. Wait and see I guess!

  • +1

It will be interesting to see what they do. If they simply cancel every order made this morning, they will alienate thousands of peeps, forever; like 'Hello Fresh' and 'ESIBUY' etc. have done. That would be a real business-killer. But obviously they can't be sending out $1500 printers for $99, or paying to truck fiddy reems of paper to some dude for a total of 45 cents, or whatever it was.
For those orders that were made with "free postage", my suggestion to them would be to at least send the person who made the order something, and refund the price of whatever stuff is not sent. It will be trickier for them to decide what to do where postage was paid. Peeps will be very mad if they're charged for postage, but only 1 of the 10 things they ordered is delivered…
I guess they could just refund everyone all their cash, and send everyone who made an order that will not be honoured something for free, as a gesture of good-will. With a humble apology for wasting our time. That would be a "business saving" manouvre…

    • +25

might want to get real here.

they dont need the ozbargainer, who's loyalty is only to the lowest pricer…..

      • I suppose you're right… still, it can't exactly be good for business, repeatedly effing up your online pricing, to the inevitable disappointment of hundreds (or in this case, thousands?) of people.

        • maybe someone just needed to meet their yearly sales target for the commissions.

    • wtf??? 20 pcs of that brick? what are you going to do with them? throw them at your neighbor when they're quite loud..lol =)

    • +3

they show up in the order history so fingers crossed they honour our orders!

Do you really think this? Get real if you ordered 1 and it was a closeout, they wouldnt have much stock, If you could order 20 then its not a closeout so they arent going to honour it.

They may honour a little mistake but they know anyone who orders 20 is just trying to profiteer on the mistake.

But you have at least confirmed, anyone who has ordered this is very unlikely to get it, inc my order..

    • +2

My vacuum cleaner is still in my order history but that order was cancelled. Order history means nothing.

      • +3

        too soon, dude. too soon.
The great vacuum cleaner debacle of October 2014.
My eyes were opened widely on that day & looking back I realise that was the day I became a man.
        We all learnt so much.
        It was just our time……
        it…..was……just……our………time.

      • YOUR ORDER HISTORY

The details below lists your order history and the items you have ordered. The list of products do no not necessarily represent the final order received which may have been changed due to product availability, credit card authorisation and coupons. The order history shown is for your reference only. An itemised tax invoice is emailed to you once your order has been dispatched.

    • +8

You deserve to have your account revoked.

    • Don't worry. There's no way you will get any, nor will anyone else, now that you've gone overboard for what good reason when you didn't even need so many?

  • how do you know if an order has shipped ?? I placed an order on 06/11 then got a Sales Order Confirmation at 430pm on 7/11 (24 hours later) that has a number of items on back order etc. but its not clear anywhere what the order status is and if the non backorder items have shipped. Site is really crap such a big company and not even an order status online ??? WTF

  • -5

Is it worth somebody (or everybody) sending this into the ACCC as bait advertising?
I can understand getting pricing on an item wrong once or twice…
But to have sooooooo many items priced incorrectly?

    • I don't think it fits the definition of 'bait advertising'; this was simply a massive f&%#-up (again). What worries me is that STAPLES don't seem to be learning from their prior errors. Maybe the dude that runs the online sales department is unsackable for some reason? Bosses' son/daughter, etc.?!?
Anyway, it gave me a few good laughs this morning, as each 'deal' peeps were posting on here was more ludicrous than the last.

    • it could have been an error in the coding of the website as a small error can lead to massive repercussions

      • "It could have been an error in the coding of the website…"

Even if that was so, why was it able to continue for hours, completely unchecked? Well into "business hours"? Why did no automated/inbuilt "system-trip-wire" get activated, when there was a huge spike in orders for obsolete printers (etc.), within the space of an hour? Where were all the STAPLES "IT" dudes, while it was actually happening, and continued to happen late into a Monday morning? I mean, this didn't all transpire in the middle of the night, or even on a weekend… In this respect, it defies explanation.

It's pretty convincing evidence that this mob doesn't exactly have their "finger on the pulse", as far as their online business is concerned…

  • +3

Success! Just had 3 reams of paper delivered for 15c.

Should have ordered more, much more.

  • 3 Orders

    1 Delivered

    NO printers

    Gumboot, Protective Overalls (25)
    StretchTape(24rolls)
    some Red wipers 20sheetsX12 packs

    Total value inc shipping $20
Likewise got confirmation in 10 minutes of ordering

No confirmation of other two orders.

NOTE none of these were on the "list" posted by OP, they were from later in the clearance list.

    • hmm. i made two orders. they charged my cc for two orders, but another two charges for $1 each. has this happen to anybody else?

      • I believe the $1 would be pre-authorisation to check or validate the credit card and should disappear within a few days. It happens with a few companies and although it shows $1 this isn't actually taken out of your account.

  • The sites back up as of this morning after being pulled late yesterday but the prices are somewhat "inflated" from yesterday. I'm still hoping to get the $900 worth of items I got for $35 but I'm not holding my breath…

    • +1

      Cancelled… Just as I thought…

      • +1

did they email you a cancellation?

  • +2

Far out, just got my full order delivered! Bravo Staples, very impressed :)

    In case anyone's interested:
I got 2 x Tork 1000 sheet rolls, a box of coveralls, vacuum seal bags and copy paper.
Ordered around 8am yesterday and paid for shipping (since I'm not an Aquire member).

    • Same here. Just had 6 reams of paper, and 1 x paper towel delivered. Tried to order steel-capped boots and gumboots in the arvo, but was too late. pretty happy with staples!

    • I can't wait for the paper towel, how big are they?

      • 26 cm in diameter and about 25-30cm high?

  • wooah .. just missed my delivery. The guy didnt even bother to ring on the door. By the time i got out, he was gone. Hopefully he will come tomorrow

  • For the guys who received their orders:
Did you receive order confirmation email right after your order?

    • i didn't receive a confirmation email. they did charge my cc. lets see if they deliver or refund.

    • I got only one email confirmation for a total of 4 orders I made (even though all 4 of them are visible in the order history on their site).

And wife just told me a package arrived a moment ago with the items from that lonely confirmation.

    • Mine was delivered (well tossed outside the door) had confirmation email from staples

    • yup, got a sales confirmation email within 10-15 minutes of ordering.
Had no idea it had been dispatched until the courier rocked up.

  • voila…by reading comments above, it seems sydney guys are getting their orders delivered..

  • Any printers at all get delivered to anyone?
