My laptop charger just went up in flames..literally!!! Can someone find me a bargain for a new one pls?

.Almost every other adapter for the 5830tg that I've seen online has a yellow tip:-(

    Yikes. Do you keep it on 24/7? Wear the battery out doing that.

    Just plug the adapter straight in without the battery in place. Then use battery every few weeks and keep fully charged every couple of weeks or so.

      Nope.I only charge my laptop when the battery is low:-( I had just plugged in the charger, when the power cord started sizzling out of nowhere, followed by sparks, smoke, and a small ball of flame.We are now left with a burning smell,a black burn hole in the side of the cord,a freaked out dog and a smirking cat….hmm I wonder if ..no , that's silly:my cat wouldn't try to kill me, would she?

      They are love rivals, at least that's how my cat thinks of my wife: if wiki's out of the way, I'll be all hers;-)

    Far out. How is comprehension these days?

    Repeat: disconnect the battery and don't use it! Only run it on power cord. Sheesh.
