Cheap Flight Syd to KL [kuala lumpur]

i wish to find cheap flights from Dec to mar 2015.

2 Going I like more baggage so a normal flight with say MAS which gives 30kg may be good; returning I am happy with less so air asia/scoot may be best for the return leg.

3 Like to know if open tickets which allow change of return dates are cheap to buy so I don't get caught if my plans change.

4 when are the peak/off peak/shoulder times?

5 do travel agents get better deals than going direct?

6 do scoot and air asia give travel agents tickets to sell?

7 need a 6 week trip max.

8 prefer direct flights of 8 hr vs 20 hrs!

    I dont think there are any direct flights from Sydney to Kangaroo Island?
