  • Good speakers, goes for a clean thumpy signature and not bass bloated like the logitech bt speakers. These things go LOUD without distortion (not exaggerating, crank it up if you see one on display). Got one for $105 couple of months back from HN.

    2 issues
    - 5 hour battery life
    - doesn't charge via usb

Might have to go for the JBL charge if those are serious downsides for you.

David Jones and GG sell for same. It's the older Flip. There is a new version Flip 2 http://www.dicksmith.com.au/speakers/jbl-flip2-bluetooth-spe… for not much more $113.58

  • I have had one of these for almost 2 year and still going strong like the day I bought it. It's been overseas with me and thrown around and covered it crap while renovating.

    I recommend.

The biggest downside for me is that the bluetooth distance is not great compared to some others I've played with. If you are happy to leave your phone next to it then it's great.

Edit: just want to clarify I'm referring to the older model with actual buttons (which I think I would prefer) Not sure if there is a difference with the speakers.

  • I never played with these bluetooth speakers before, can this hook up to my laptop while playing pc games?

  • Thanks for posting OP. Ended up picking the flip 2 from HN for $100.

    • $100 for the Flip 2 is good price. How did you get it at this price ? HN sell it for $118

Yeah, the sales person told me they should be $118 but the sign in store said $100 so that's the price they sold it to me. Even better was that I paid with discounted Westfield cards from a previous deal, so it really only cost me $65.90.
