What are the odds they'll make online free to play?
15 months since release and the only good exclusive is a remastered PS3 game.
You could almost say that, in terms of titles, the PS4 release so far has been La Problematique.
But yeah. The Free Online Play is the reason the PS3 trumped over the Xbox360; they stayed competitive for the most part, even early on when the 360 was touting more and better exclusives, just because of that free online. It was funny when they removed it, because it removed all of my desire to get the console until it has at least half a dozen decent exclusives; so I might get one by 2020 at the current game release rate.
Oh well. I'll keep playing my PS3 until they break and throw in multiplayer online for free, which as a PS3 fan I would HOPE is quite likely. I don't know if they've forgotten the last generation entirely, but free online would give them a HUGE edge over Xbone and Xbox 360. (Also, Dragon Age Inquisition is fine on PS3, Destiny is fine on PS3, Alien Isolation is fine on PS3, Wolfenstein the new Order is fine on PS3, etc etc etc. Why am I buying another console just to pay more subsriptions if all the current games getting released work fine?)

I didn't even realise that you had to play for multi-player. As someone who only has a PS3 because it came free with the TV and rarely has time to game, it is a significant disincentive to upgrade.

Although I haven't yet paid the sub, it's not what bothers me. What does bother me is the fact that the games companies now launch half a game and expect you to buy the "season pass" to get the rest of it. You now basically have to pay twice to get the whole game.

A lot of people that get the season pass on release never play anything other than the vanilla game anyway, since the expansion doesn't come out for 6 months and they're already over it by then. The publishers know this, and they know they can still make money if they make half a game and ship it that way.
And then they (well, some of them) bitch and moan when people pirate their broken ass, money extorting games.
Anyone had any luck with this? Keeps telling me i need a subscription :/
I'm looking forward to this as I'm yet to take out a PS+ sub. This might be enough to push me over the edge and buy it.
