If any manufacturer is reading this - they should get their act together as I starting to find the "smart tv" isn't that "smart" afterall.
I have a Samsung 1 yr old smart tv is lacking useful apps to use if compares to my android on a hdmi stick.

Other way around isn't it? The issue is on Sony's end — all they need to do is roll out software or firmware upgrades to older smart TV users to support the new data API's required for Youtube to run.
