    Any bargains?

    • +4

Wouldn't it be more constructive to have a look and perhaps post some?

eg. this looks okay to me:

      AU $776.00

      Apply

Maybe he did look and didn't find anything, hence his question.

Wouldn't it be more constructive to have a look and perhaps post some?

That's what the OP is supposed to do…
        I can't edit the title or description…

        read the posting rules…

        Sales, Catalogs and Stores
"mention one or even two bargains, in the title, and provide direct links where possible, to those items."

        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/help:deal_posting_guidelin…

Just stating 15% off is not a bargain if the items can be bought cheaper elsewhere…

        • Hey, each to their own. I'd rather the OP post it than not because the requirements not able to be meet due to whatever reason.

Do you see what is happening in these comments, people are discussing which items are actually bargains….

I may look at the title bargains but will always read the comments as I'm sure you will too :)

jv, as you have highlighted a breach of posting rules, why not go all the way to "report" the post? I don't see an indication next to the reported icon to indicated that anyone has reported it. Why sit on the fence and continue to whinge about it? Unless of course if you are doing it to increase your exposure and post count(s)?

If you do get hungry from prolonged sitting on the fence, here is a pancake recipe to help feed your hunger:

          Ingredients
          1 cup (150g) self-raising flour
          1 tbsp white sugar
          1 egg, lightly beaten
          3/4 cup (180ml) milk

          Method
In a bowl, combine flour and sugar.

Whisk in the egg and then milk at little at a time until batter is smooth and lump-free.

In a frying pan or flat grill, over medium heat, brush butter over cooking surface and pour 1/4 cup measures for each pancake.

When large bubbles form on the surface, flip over and cook until lightly golden on the other side.

          @moo:

you seem to be posting a lot of recipes lately…

          https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/184208#comment-2588606

how about focussing more on discussing the 'deal'…

        • +2

@jv If your goal is better posts help out the OP and point out the error in the first post so they can fix it sooner instead.

    • Any Ideas on carpet cleaners?

This one from Bissel is $170 after 15% discount…. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Bissell-Carpet-Washer-1285K-Get-a…

But the Bissel reviews are mixed - http://www.productreview.com.au/p/bissell-pet-wash-powerbrus…

I have old carpets and young kids… not going to replace the carpets soon!

      • I have this. Great for spot cleaning but not that great for doing the whole floor. The tank is tiny.

  • Anyone have recommendations for a 50inch TV?

Is the Samsung UA48H5000 48" 122cm Full HD LED LCD TV for $595 with free delivery any good?

    • +4

      They are 50Hz

    • +8

      Thats not a 50inch TV

    • +4

48" is 2 inches short of a 50inch TV, so no good as far as your requirement is concerned. (Edit: beaten by 26 seconds by Trojan.)

    • -4

For those saying that a 48" isn't a 50", better go ask your girlfriends if the extra two inches matters

      • +2

        They all said it does.

        Something about the aspect ratio.

        • Cinemascope or Panavision?

      • +3

Having only 2.5 inches myself, losing 2 inches would make a lot of difference!

      • Come on dude, we all know it is:

        ((L*D)+W/G)/∠α^2

48" adjusted size or TMI is 141"

50" adjusted size or TMI is 153"

Now I don't know about your partner, but mine is only 65" tall. From what little I understand about biology, anything more than her height minus the length of her legs is a waste.

    • -3

There are cheaper 50" TVs from Kogan

    • +1

After doing a bit of research, I decided to pull the trigger on the 48" Sammy…they jacked up the price from $699 to $778!

  • +1

    BBQ's anyone ?

    • +20

Yes, I have one. Wanna drop in this weekend?

    • +3

depends if you're gonna be lighting up wads of cash on your barby, Walter White

    • Depends if they dropship or not 😊

    • Appliance Online has come way too late to the party

  • IS it normal that they charge $150 delivery for a $254 sink ?

    • +3

installed .. YES.. dropped at the front of your door at a time that you hadn't chosen to begin with? NO :P

    • Try adding to cart. I did it with a TV that had $150 delivery and after adding to cart it shows as free delivery.

  • +4

Please check the prices (even with a quick google search) before pulling the trigger.

Almost bought this Dyson upright vacuum cleaner

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Dyson-Upright-Vacuum-Cleaner-DC50…

it's even cheaper before any discount at TGG

    http://www.thegoodguys.com.au/dyson-dc50-multifloor-upright-…

If anyone can find any real deals could they point them here?

    • +1

If you don't mind a barrel the dc54 animal pro is a decent at $662.15 after discount.
Its the 2014 top of the line model, rrp $1099 (lol). I've been tracking it for a while and the cheapest I've seen it is for about $800 on clearance at masters or hardly normal at the moment.
Note: there is two dc54 animal's just the animal, $776 before discount, the animal pro,$779 before discount. The pro comes with the tangle free tool as the major diff but for only couple dollars more is worth it

      • +1

??? They have the DC54 animal pro at $839 before discount now ???
        edit: DC54 allergy $769, animal $777, animal pro $839

        • +1

as expected with your unethical tactis they increased the price on the animal pro -_- you can check other people bought with the cheaper price.

        • +1

Guess i was lucky and got in before they realised!
Sorry to the people who missed out.

        • @sigh: you dammed professionals ruining it for the common man

  • +2

The Vitamix 5200 Blender 65214 NEW is costing $611.15 after applying discount, which is lot cheaper than the cheapest I could find online.

  • Can you only apply the code on checkout?

Is there a way to see the final price when added to shopping cart?

    • Yes.

      No.

      • Bummer, going to have to whip out the old calculator.

So the 15% discount is applied on top of the % off that is listed?

        • +1

yes, but you don't have to whip anything. Just go through the checkout, enter the redemption code and VOILA!

        • @dreamz:

          thanks! easy done!

    • Add stuff to cart then click proceed to checkout and you can test the code

  • +1

This is $hit.. With delivery costs even the Free shipping coupon that was posted not long ago ends up being better buying off the site.

    • Agreed what I was looking at is cheaper at Myer, TGG and even HN!! after "15% off"

  • +3

2 points/$1 also via velocity. Works out better than 2% from cashrewards if you end up redeeming for reward flights

    • generally only if you redeeming business class flights

      • +1

nope, economy as well. but i agree it is more than 2x more valuable if you redeem for business class. economy is still above 2% when you compare with sale fares.

  • Question: is it true the postage fee is 150 for a Dyson dc 47?
    The delivery fee is unbelievable

    • +1

Delivery changed from $150 to Free on a TV after I added it to cart. Try it, might work.

  • +3

I did a quick check on 5 random larger items on their eBay sale. Prices on their own website are exactly the same less the $150 shipping. So, even with 15% off, unless you spend over $1000, you are worse off here. Max $200 discount curtails any benefits at the expensive end. $145 shipping for a robot vacuum? Seriously?

Only a deal if you are buying smaller items where they don't gauge you on postage charges like a toaster or blender.

    • Add to cart to check shipping, i bought a dyson and was going to skip cause of postage too but when added to cart (to check if they would stupidly charge $150 postage) postage came up as free.

  • +1

Panasonic Rice Cooker SR-DE183WST seems like a good deal compared to Kogan's Toshiba. It cost 97$ including shipping for me.

    • Is this any better compared to cheap $20 kambrook ones?

      • I would think so, for power consumption and product life, etc. I am using Aldi 10 cups rice cooker which cost me 10$.

      • My Kambrook rice cooker is fine. It's worked for me since I bought it in 2009 or 2010, and I've moved house with it 3 times. A rice cooker uses simple technology, so I don't think it's something you need to invest in.

Edit: it doesn't have fancy controls though, just on/off. Although fancy controls are usually the things that shorten the life of a product. Too much wiring that can go wrong.

    • Bought this during the last sale. Fantastic rice (we eat a fair bit) Going to have to change back to jasmine from brown rice though. Brown rice takes about 2 hours in this, white about 40 minutes.

  • I tested one item (gas cooktop) on the eBay page.

The delivery - to 6000 - drops back to free, once you input the postcode. I imagine this would be the case for most metro postcodes, as their delivery is normally free.

  • Nice timing. I'm moving out on Saturday.

  • -1

meeeh.. this is a bit disappointing. I was interested in the LG fridge, GN-450UWL, but it's cheaper from electricdiscounters

    • +5

      That's… not .. true?

      LG 450 Litre Fridge GN450UWL
GN-450UWL LG 450 Litre White Bottom Mount Refrigerator Features 4 Star Energy Rating, Inverter Linear Compressor, Smart Diagnosis 2.0, Express Freeze, Bioshield, Tempered Glass Shelves, Moisture Balance Crisper.

      Our Price $1,239.00

      Ebay: $1306 - apply 15% discount - $1110… right?

      • +2

oh.. my bad.. have to apply the discount code!
        thx for the info.
        YEP confirmed
        $1,110.10 and free delivery.
Just have to measure the fridge space before clicking confirm :)

        • Hehe cool. glad to help.

        • +1

I still haven't got my chance to do pre-settlement inspection on my apartment. Guess I have to miss this deal … kinda shame. Could've saved more on fridges.

  • Anyone know the fridge scene to figure out value here? I'm just starting to look

  • Last week I purchased a washing machine from them for $809. The price is now $899. Did they think we wouldn't notice? However, saving a further $44.85 would still have been welcome, and I appreciate the OP's efforts, so I shall still plus-vote the deal.

  • $140 postage for a $399 camera!

    • Put the postcode in first

      • +1

Yeah I put in postcode and it says "We charge delivery to your postcode - see checkout", go to checkout and enter CAPOL15 and it still whacks $140 postage on top.

  • They haven't even listed half there TV's (the ones that are actually cheap) so its a waste of time.

  • I'm after a body trimmer, and have my eye on this. Applying the code brings it down to $89.20. Can anyone recommend if this is good, or if there are better ones out there(for cheaper of course).

EDIT: I went ahead and didn't even realise that the code was for appliances only…Still my question stands

    • Did the code work on it anyway?

    • It rocks and lasts ages between charges with weekly use.

  • +2

    Are you kidding me.

I'm in the market for a new fridge so I'd get free shipping from this site.
Even with the free shipping and the so called 15% discount every fridge I look at is MUCH cheaper in TGG

    What a ripoff

    • I noticed for a online store a lot of their stuff is more expensive than GG and HN that have shop fronts and a lot more employees.

  • +1

This YHT1810B Yamaha 5.1 Home Theatre Package is not bad. After discount it is $320.45. Cheapest anywhere else is pretty much the same as the undiscounted price.

    • +2

      Bought one thanks.

  • +1

The Dyson Hot Cool Fan at $441 is a very good price - RRP is $599 and never goes below $500.

I've got one and love it!

  • Sweet, i've been waiting for some discount for months, i need a replacement for my old fridge.

This fridge 228L Samsung Fridge SR227MW is $519 on appliancesonline.com.au ( it was some months ago).
It's $517 on their ebay site

I asked to get the sane deal at the local shop and the good guys, they both offered at a higher price. Thanks again OP.

    Edit: Nvm $500 > $200

  • Also, they take the old fridge / washer away, so that is one less item you have to worry about.

  • Samsung TV ua55h6400 for $1096 (inc. delivery) is quite a good buy. Haven't seen it this low since before Xmas.

Question: Is it a risk buying now, are new models about to be released? Will these prices drop?

  • Does anyone have a dyson DC54 Animal or pro and share their opinion on how good is it? lots of 1 star reviews online and i'm getting worried of making a big investment for a dud.

  • Any opinions on the following TVS..

    http://goo.gl/E50T3I Samsung UA65HU8500 @ $3597.00 less max discount of $200 = $3397

    OR

    http://goo.gl/GaU7uD LG65UB980T @ $3685 less 200 = $3485.00

Or simply go for the cheaper LG/Samsung ones under $3k? Been holding out for a few months now, but now moved into home and almost settled in and want my new tv mounted!

    Would appreciate any help!

  • May be worth considering Costco price and warranty, LG same model was @$2980 few weeks ago.

    • Hmm good point, i was in there two days ago. Didn't look at the TVs though, thanks.

  • What do people think of the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 for $763.30 after the 15% off? (very limited quantities…3 left as of this post)
It has been cheaper before… but will it be <$700 when the S6 becomes available or is the AUD too weak?

  • It would be great if you guys kindly help me to choose the best fridge in ~ $1100 to $1500 price range (420L-520L)?

  • -3

So many people know it is a bad deal… why no balls to neg?

    • I guess those who think with their balls are more inclined to neg.
