  • are you looking for single issue or trades?

    • Umm single issue I guess!

  • have you considered digital? like comixology app?

I know you said its s gift but if he already have an ipad, it might come in handy.

    • Considered, but this kid is a child of the digital age… playing consoles from the age of 2, always in front of a DS or something, wanted to go hard copy :)

  • I think your best bet is ebay. This one is good IMO

  • I used to get loads from TFAW, particularly issues I thought I couldnt get at the local Comic Shop. Whereabouts in Oz are you there are loads of B&M Comic shops. You also need to know what kind of stuff he is into, there are loads of different titles out there.

If he is really into some kind of comic based pop culture it might be cool to get a Graphic Novel that gathers up all the back issues into a single story so he can catchup on the backstory to date. Comics are a great medium for new and interesting athors and artists hence the large number of films that are 'based' on comic books. If you know what he is into there are normally plenty of different options to choose from. It isnt necessary to just buy a copy of the latest Spiderman/Batman etc there are often cool new indie titles or gritty interpretations on existing characters that you can get onto.

  • So in the end we took him and his sister to a Pop Culture Expo (not a huge one or anything) - Best Auntie and Uncle ever! Kids didn't know where to look lol

Oh, and he completely walked passed the comic displays, said he wasn't interested… argh!
