Anybody have any experience with this one and/or the brand?
TCL U65E5691FDS can be had for $1500 with the eBay sale on right now.
I am happy to take any advice or alternatives in that general ball park price.
I'll mostly watch HD sport on it, but also watch movies and stuff too.

I wouldn't want to just outright discount the TCL, but bigger brands often have better processing, which will result in better quality picture. This isn't always the case of course, but in my experience more often than not bigger brands have better quality picture.
It's really price differential that makes it murky. People, understandably, don't want to pay top dollar so opt for a cheaper TV but in your instance on an LCD TV, if sport is something you will be regularly watching I would be looking at either a newer Sony or Samsung minimum 100 HZ TV. Not just because it is 100 HZ, but rather because, at least on the H6400 and Sony W800, motion clarity is quite high for an LCD TV, which will make watching sport more enjoyable.
That's my thoughts. I hope that helps in some way.
Okayish TV. depends on how far you'll be watching it from, really prone to artefacts. Colours aren't as strong as other brands. Thought about grabbing it at one stage, went with the Samsung Series 6 instead. Although it isn't UHD, the image looks heaps cleaner and crisper.
