For those who missed out on the Target sale of the Sunbeam Cafe Crema 2 https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/185507
(Spoke to Target and they're sold out nationwide which isn't surprising given they discounted it further to $40- to clear stock!)

During the Myer March sale last week the EM3820 was discounted to $129 with free delivery. It's now discounted to $99- (Below the $100 free delivery threshold.

I'm sure you can price match it wherever possible or just do store pickup at Myer.

Despite being the cheaper model than the Crema 2, this model was rated higher by Choice Magazine.

    Had one of these last year and died within 4 months.
    I bought a delonghi scultura semi automatic espresso machine and it's still going strong after 10 months.

          I had the 3820 Espresso 1, lasted about 5 years but only about 6-8 coffees a week. You do notice that most bits are plastic. Eventually the head seal wore out and none of the replacements could stop water leaking, don't know why (they were genuine parts), I think because the plastic had worn out a bit and the new seals just weren't good enough

          Anyway, a $500+ machine that is all metal and no consumable parts/seals will last a long time; but you could get 5 of these machines instead and the coffee wasn't bad.

          Or an aeropress

      Myer sell a 3 yr care plan with these for $25. If it breaks within 3 years they don't even necessarily ask for it back to repair. They just pay you the full value of the machine in gift vouchers.
      I got the Crema 2 from them recently (1 model up but same pump system). Makes a beauty of a coffee

    FML. I tried to pay for this last week (at $120) on my 28degrees card, but it was blocked (and re-issued), due to fraud. I ended up using a different card because it was a birthday present for someone today.

    need a good grinder to get respectable coffee look at a plunger and a decent grinder as this probably wont satisfy especially with store bought coffee. LOOK FOR A EM480/450 AT A MINIMUM OR gumtree for a used full size metal burr grinder, depending on use a decent hand grinder may cut it as well
