Chinese Characters on Windows Tablet Login Screen

Hi all, I hope someone can shed light on issues I am having.

I have a Chinese Windows 8.1 tablet (KingSing W8) and it works fine as expected. I can set the language to English and almost everything is in English.

I said almost everything because I can see some chinese characters here and there. For example and the main annoyance is on the login screen. The placeholder text on the password field on login screen is in Chinese. When it is trying to login with spinning icon appearing, the text next to it is in chinese … which I suppose should say "Logging in" or something along that line.

Anyone knows how to change that to English? Would appreciate any feedback. Thank you.

The Windows login screen has a separate language setting which by default uses the language the machine originally came with it. Assuming you haven't tried this, the steps in the link below should help resolve the issue..

    • Thank you xDrak1x. That's exactly what I was looking for. It works and fixed the issues. Thanks a lot.

  • "KingSing W8" sounds like a top machine.
Just kidding I have a Ployer Momo8W tablet which had a lot of leftover chinese characters throughout but was still useable.
Only way to fix it was to reinstall your own Win 8.1 fresh from a usb.
Just remember to backup all tablet driver files 1st, or you might not find them from KingSing. I admit I forgot this step and now dont have touchscreen working.
