Doesn't work on Vita. EA games are some of the few that were never made compatible. =\
Dude, I platinum'd Need for Speed Vita from EA when they made it free a few months back, ran fine, even worked on the PS TV.
But I feel you, this shit sucks, I tried to download the PSP port of Crazy Taxi 1 & 2 to the PS TV the other day and it wouldn't work, I know the PS TV has a lot less compatible things than the Vita, but still, PSP and PS1 games in particular should work across the board.
Speaking of which, one of my favorite PSP games, Rock Band Unplugged, still doesn't work on the Vita or PS TV.
One of the first games I bought for my psx, from K-mart for 20 dollars. Played the shit out of it, still got it in a box somewhere. So fun, couldn't afford THPS2.

Thanks for the post, I actually bought Street Skater 2 digitally around 5 years ago when the only online game machine I had was my humble (still completely working) PSP slim. I bought it only because there was no THPS games on the PSN, had no experience with the SS series nor any clue what to expect, it's not a great game, but the sound track is stellar, the level design is on point, and the game is damn fun. I am keen to try out the first one now, thanks entirely to you as I'd have never found this on my own. Thank you.
Also, Theme Hospital, another PS1 EA game (I think it's by them, I'm pretty sure), went free a few months back, then mysteriously was taken down from the store. I've never actually played TH, but it's in my download list nonetheless. Should keep our eyes out for more of these happening, imagine if every time a game got taken down, the publisher made it free for a week or so, that'd be the dream.
I loved this game as a kid. I actually bought it when I found out it was on PSN. Great soundtrack if you like late 90's punk and ska.
We used to make fun of this game as kids and call it "cheap skater" because it felt like a really unpolished game however it was very addictive
From memory the soundtrack is awesome too. Worth it just for that. Same for Street Skater 2. Good find OP. I don't have a PS anymore but good for the memories. Might pull out some of the tracks hidden in my collection for a listen.
