Kogan Fully Automatic Coffee Machine - Anyone Had Any Experience with One?

https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/kogan-fully-automatic-coffee-ma…

I would really like to pick up a fully automatic coffee machine, and came across this one. After seeing some machines going up to a few grand, I'm really skeptical about it. To add to that, I can't find any sort of reviews online. So just wondering if anyone has one of these or heard anything about them?

From my personal experience, Kogan has been hit or miss with their products (ever since they went from a specialised electronics retailer to the mutant spawn of its former self and Deals Direct). Though I've found they've been fairly good with warranty claims, so I'd probably get this with an extended warranty. Though that doesn't help if the machine sucks straight out of the box.

  • Ive yet to taste a decent coffee from an Automatic Machine. Making them manually is fair simple, the setup would be cheaper, you can make it the way you like and its more rewarding.

  • I'd like to know the answer to the same question.

If I want decent coffee I'll use my existing manual Rancilio set up. Because the Silvia is quite fussy and I'm rather particular about my coffee, it takes me a while to make coffee, especially if you include the clean up time.

Because of this, I only drink my 'good' coffee on weekends and use my old Nespresso machine for my workday morning fix.

That's why I'm interested also in a fully automatic bean-to-cup system, especially for milk-based drinks which could utilise the beans I already heave.

The Nespresso Lattissima Pro is supposed to be pretty good for what it is if I were to stick with the Nespresso system but it takes 3 capsules to produce a similar strength drink as from my 'classic' espresso maker, which gets quite pricey.

I've done a bit of research and it looks like some of the most recommended fully automatic machines aren't available in Australia.

  • over the years i have had a delonghi fully automatic, then nesspresso, then samsung fully automatic and now back to delonghi, for the around $500 or so when you can get them on sale, makes a pretty decent coffee, better than most cafe except for some exception where they have a really good barrista who actually can make a coffee.

i normally just use a frother, easy to clean and very quick instead of using the frother on the machine itself. but the freshly ground beans to coffee, so so convience if you are rush for time. otherwise i guess it would cost a lot less with a manual machine or stove top coffee make.

the question is, how automative do you want coffee making to be VS $$$ to spend upfront. In conclusion, i gennerally replace this 3-5 year depending which is less than $1 a day to have the automative convienience of making my own fresh ground cup of coffee.
