Is It Possible to Clear My iCloud?

I ran out of storage space on my iCloud ages ago, but am heading overseas soon and the likelihood of my phone being stolen is high, so I would like to delete my current iCloud backed up data and "start from scratch". Is this possible?

PS. I don't want to buy more storage.

  • On a mac go Apple (top left corner) > Preferences > iCloud > 'Manage' (bottom left on window)

On a Windows computer go Start > Control panel > iCloud > 'Manage'

You can select what you want to keep and delete from there.

    • Thanks so much! I managed to do it.

    • I've got travel insurance so can replace the phone…

  • Go into the iCloud settings on your phone and turn off iCloud backup. It will then say "Are you sure, doing this will delete all your data from the cloud"
Say yes. Wait a few seconds then turn it back on.

There's also an option to Manage Storage within the iCloud menu, somewhere in there you can delete old backups if needed.

  • Another iCloud question…. I logged into my iCloud on my computer and although my iPad and iPhone calendars are synchronised, on the computer only some events are appearing… How do I ensure that all events are showing up on all devices, including the computer?
