  • Done. Who knows where this great business opportunity will lead too, maybe more free things?

    • +2

Joseph Hockey would be proud of you. A knigthood is in the post.

    Excellent post, thanks OP :)

  • Are the thinkpods free to use with the membership? Or are they a bookable service type thing?

    • yes afaik no booking required :)

  • Sweet, thanks OP! This should see me until the end of my honours year. No more procrastination at home!

  • might be a stupid question but, does that mean we can access their "secure" underground parking for free too

    • i asked earlier: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/194341?page=1#comment-2753… so yeah, a stoopid question apparently lol

    • Regus site lists all facilities at the site of the office. Some like 24 hour access are only available to long term paying clients. Some are facilities like parking that are available on the site, payable to an outside business.

If it listed a restaurant, would you expect free meals? Best to check with the office concerned.

Here's the prices for parking at the Riverside Centre, Brisbane, downstairs from the 18th floor Regus office. $23 for less than 1 hour, operated by Wilson Parking - not Regus!

      • Is it reasonable to expect if sandwich bar is listed it will be free?

        • +4

I'm waiting for the free full service massage with um, what's that ending called ;-)

Alcohol can be provided - but no one asked if it is free.
(After a function, food & especially cake, is left out & seems to be help yourself to some.)

It seems to OzBargainers the Regus site is just a catalog of dreams.

Reminds me of being a child reading toy store catalogs, looking for ideal presents Santa could bring. My enthusiasm met the harsh reality of family budget - "You only get 1 thing & make it cheap!". I learnt 'Santa' was a stingy bastard.

        • @brucefromaustralia:

I learnt 'Santa' was a stingy bastard.

lol that's why santa ceased to exist to me

  • Good stuff. Needed another one of these. I missed the last deal, and the one I got before that expired some time ago.

    • The old card has never been refused for me, despite expiring mid last year. Others report the same.

If you sign up, can you use the same email to sign up or renew again if there's another promo in the future or is it once per email?

  • the code doesn't seem to work or I must be doing something wrong?

Selected the gold membership, 24 months. Reach the payment page, enter code in the promotional code area, hit apply.

"Invalid promotion entered / promotion cannot be applied to this product / promotion expired."

    Have I missed it?

    • There shouldn't b a payment page….

    • Right, I'm an idiot.

Didn't follow the "link to the deal" :D

  • Thanks OP

So i signed up 40min ago and now am sitting in a Sao Paulo office block 10 stories up. After a free coffee. This is gold. Thanks.

    • Don't you have to wait for your membership to come through the mail?

      • +1

No, I just showed them my confirmation email. U have to pay if you want the conference room or private office I think (that is what the front desk told me).

There are some open office areas that you can use. No free food (there's a cupboard where you can buy snacks). Free coffee and some lollies.

There are quite a few locations in Sao Paulo, making this card pretty cool.

      • When I joined in 2013, showing the email was all that was required. They enter your membership number & show you around.
So nothing stopping you, except it's the weekend.

    • nice - welcome :)

      btw which one?

  • Considering you visit the Brisbane offices Bruce, is the good view the office in riverside centre?

    • +4

      It's terrible. Please don't go there. There's a 1 OzBargainer rule…

If I say it's great, I'll lose my cubicle which is usually free. It's hard enough keeping up the supply of hot chocolate just to me.

I was going to post photos of the view from the cubicle, but you'll see if you go. I just gaze out the window at the boats & the Kangaroo Point cliffs. There's a ferry terminal downstairs. I pop down there from the beach at South Bank… life is tough.

      But don't tell anyone.

  • Can we bring someone to the lounge if you're a cardholder?

    • Read Bruce's comments above. No

Why cant people simply click on the terms and conditions for the answers?

Grab the Android (maybe iPhone too?) app so you don't have to carry the card around.

    • +3

I'm too well known at my regular Regus to be asked for my card. Occasionally a new staff member tries. My face is my card.

      • Really?!

        • +1

          Why wouldn't they?

Good staff will remember clients, their needs, and try to meet them. Besides, typing in my membership number is a waste of their time, as I don't use paid services - so a record is unnecessary.

I sometimes walk in & a staff member scurried off to top up the hot chocolate sachets - it's my only requirements for my 'Caffè mocha' :-)

They're very good, but that's what a business client expects.

    • +11

Mmm, would you really want to take family/kids to a shared business area?

    • Cheers for the info bruce!

  • Thanks OP
    Let do OZBargain Get Together.

  • What are the business lounges actually like in terms of facilities? Their website says the gold membership can use the "Business Lounges and Cafes" but not "Open plan offices". Does this membership get you access to a space with a desk you can work?

I had a google and found photos of some of the Regus "Business Lounges" that just looked like a few lounge chairs and no tables - less than you'd find in an airport lounge.

    • All the details including pictures are on the website if you care to look.
I even put a link to a review with additional pictures earlier.

      • I've looked at the website/pictures, but it's not clear if you're only allowed to use some of the facilities shown in many of the pictures. Given I can see meeting rooms etc, I am guessing yes.

        • +1

If you pay, you can use all the facilities.

You could have read about what's offered or not - in this deal. Many OzBargainers have used Regus free since 2013 :-)

What we get free discussed earlier - It's a short buy handy offering. Meeting rooms & offices not included. That's how they make their money.

And don't expect free parking, free food, free gym, etc. That's what's available from other businesses in the building.

Some offices list some interesting features, but again you are excluded as not a long-term paying client or pay a lot.

I'm very happy with the quality of the offices, the service, the freebies. It's a great deal.

  • 432 votes… well that escalated quickly

  • Hi OP, thanks for the deal. Has it expired? Says "Invalid Voucher Code" when I click on Apply Code. Businessworld Gold Membership seems to be coming up at $59 when you click buy now instead of the $29/mth shown on the front page. Thanks in advance

  • still worked fine for me.
got the email with membership number straight away

  • This is for people who prefer not to work from home?

    • +10

I just prefer not to work ;-)

I've used it free since 2013. I never have done any work there, but gives me a good base when travelling around the world or Australia.
I just relax, watch TV or movies downloaded free to the tablet, read English language papers, get local advice, drink some coffee, admire the view…

A good home office is usually better than travelling to one. But some people like the structure of getting out of the house & going to the office. You can sit in the chairs to meet clients in a professional location. If you have a meeting in another city, you have a place to prepare.

And with this deal, Regus pays the bills^.

^ includes cubicle (with small desk, seat, international power point, light) if available - otherwise there are comfy chairs & stools at a bench, help from receptionists / coffee machine maintainers (but not to take your calls or look after your clients), WiFi, electricity, wear & tear of carpet etc, depreciation of assets, coffee tea etc, milk & sweetener for coffee/tea, use of kitchen (coffee machine, microwave, fridge, cutlery, crockery, dish washers, bins), use of the 1 computer, newspapers for reading, tv to watch - only while in office. Nothing is to be removed from office (not even the tv).
But does not include parking, printing, room use, gym, food, alcohol, massages, or anything else people imagine ;-)

I think that covers the inclusions in this deal ;-)

      • +3

        OMG, I'm sorry!

        Accidently negged instead of upvote….too excited… >.<

        How can I undo this?!

          I hate premature voters.
          It's so disappointing ;-)

          How can I undo this?!
I think there is medicine for it.

          No worries.

      • +2

Good summary. You should have a highway named after you. :)

        • Keep the Bruce Highway.
I just want the commission on all these new Regus members.
          Now 5% x 12,000 members x $0 payment… oh bugger.

I try to get the most of my stays with Regus.

        • @brucefromaustralia: I can see that you did your math homework.

        • @maolin95:
Certainly. I have a degree in Mathematics, having studied Pure Mathematics. (I really do.) How did you notice?

        • +1

          @brucefromaustralia:

It was the way you carried the one.

      • If your friends need a membership card then how can you bring a client?

        • T&c cover this - ask if visitor/ client can enter (you can meet client at reception, where there are chairs for this), pay if necessary for use of lounge, otherwise they can ask you to rent an office.

  • -2

Great! Now hopefully I could meet some millionaire businessmen in there for future networking..;)

Just hope we don't get some random kids in there surfing the net, or backpackers lol

    • +4

Never knowingly met any millionaires at Regus offices. What do they look like? Had them as clients in my business. None fitted the usual image of a millionaire.

So pick the best office in the right city for your (self) interest. Of course others will be doing the same, in their self interest ;-)

You are likely to meet people wanting to profit from you, but it's low key - salary sacrificing & glossy tax minimisation pamphlets, the person who left those in the kitchen, investment advisors, etc.

"some random kids in there surfing the net, or backpackers"
Which group do you fall into ;-)

With 11000 clicks & rising fast, I think a few just slipped in :-)

I love stereotypes, because they can be so wrong. I was talking with a restaurant owner about his quiet business. Over a few good wines he said he would never allow backpackers in. He thanked me for the business advice, refused payment for the dinner, & I laughed as I went back to my backpacker hostel.
That was 20 years back, when my hourly rate of $250 was not bad. Backpacking just made it go further & was great fun. Always loved travel & meeting interesting people over money. Now I just travel - thank you Regus :-)

  • +1

btw, could I bring my clients without membership in there?

    • I think they can sit in the chairs near reception, but no further.

To enter, they need to be members. Of course its up to staff discretion.

      • After all, no one wants to pay to be a member of an exclusive & professional group - that would let just anyone in ;-)

    • See Gold Membership t&c pdf
      6. A Businessworld member visiting a lounge and not using a Day Office or Co-Work Office may be charged a fee per guest to entertain the guest in the lounge. If required, meetings rooms are available at all locations from the Provider and can be reserved at preferential rates for Businessworld members.

  • +1

I'm assuming some here who signed up don't have a Diners Club card ? Will we need to present the Diners Club card when we go to a Regus centre or just show them the membership card?

  • Sadly, this may have been far too successful a deal for its own good.

With 11,000 clicks now, DinnersClub or Regus may pull the plug - requiring membership number, although I wasnt affected last time.

I wonder if there will be more people enrolling in this offer than DinnersClub (business) members in Australia?

  • -1

    http://www.theforrestcentre.com.au/Core/Content/SportingFaci…
Would the perth one be a free gym based on this for Forrest Centre?

More after the shower if I was staying there all day to do work in a quiet study environment but thanks for the neg whoever did :)

    • If you read the many comments about what is & isn't included in this deal, the discussion of that very gym, and even the availability of showers, you would have answered your question & there would be no possibility someone would give you a neg. You're not the first to do that & get negs in this deal.

I even put the inclusions / exclusions again in bold above, so people could see it.

Ah the simple skill of reading the deal.

      • I did read actually about the gym not included but this one does state different on their site. Different offices would have different facilities. Plus I could not find the cost to go into the gym, join or have a shower as I assume there would be some available at the gym. Hence I asked.

        • +1

Did Regus list gym as available / access, or included, or free?
          That's where people get confused.

As previosly discussed, available / access means it's on the same site run by another business at cost to you, included means certain paying clients receive a benefit, free is possibly free, but should be verified. Availability of places for visitor is a different matter.

Did you read that discussion - of Regus site listing anything provided by a business in the building as "available" (at your expense)?

Discussion about that gym, which I assume you read. Pointless asking again.

It's been discussed before, even my advice to call the office for the ultimate answer. Same with the gym. They will know far more than we do. But I suppose that means waiting until Monday!

Repeating the same questions & answers achieves nothing.

        • Fair point, I did look at calling but yes it is waiting until Monday. Regas did have gym listed but not as free so wasn't sure. Yes I did read as well. I asked specifically about this regus and not in general since it was the only one of 3 in my area with a gym/shower and hoped someone who was a member already could answer, Will call Monday and ask. Thanks for your replies throughout the thread though.

        • +1

          @Joyoz:
I think only 1 with a gym was discussed in his deal, that's why gym was added to exclusions list.

The gym is listed along with conference rooms, theatre room, & parking simply as "available".

There are several meeting rooms available as well as theatre style rooms which can hold up to 50 people with various configurations along with Video Conferencing facilities. A fully equipped gymnasium, swimming pool, tennis court bike racks and basement parking are also available.

"available" is like saying a new car is available at a dealership, or a meal is available at a restaurant.
          "available" is definitely not free.

Regus is in the business of renting business facilities at premium prices (like those listed as "available").

The features at a location are listed for the benefit of users who may want to entertain clients at a nearby restaurant etc. You don't expect free meals.

Same as a 5 star hotel may offer many expensive services to its clients - as "available".

The gym may be an attractive add on for travellers, as it's "available", but not free & there may be no casual membership on the day.

Even my local Westfield lists a gym as available, along with valet parking & a cold beer at the hotel. All to attract me in & spend. Strangely no one expects those free!

I don't understand why there has been so much dispute here over a word in common use.

          People think "available" means free??

But a 2 year free gym membership on top of normal freebies in a $700 2 year world package is very very unlikely. Even less likely when free! Same issue with parking as I explained in detail.

Staff have told me "available" items on Regis office site are not included in Gold (the lowest level & casual) membership.

But you should have luck with a shower, as most upmarket office blocks supply showers for cyclists & possibly joggers. And sometimes gyms offer free trial periods ;-) Just ask.

        • @Joyoz: Let me know how you go with this, i am located in Perth.

  • How much does the Diners membership cost? Or do u have to apply for their credit card?

  • +1

Cheers OP. Have NFI if or why I would use one, but hey, that's why we love OzB!
    :)

  • Anyone know what complementary beverages there are (don't drink Coffee)

    • Tea, including herb & other varieties (tea bags) Twinings from memory at my office
      Hot Chocolate (sachet)

  • +1

    Can registered member use daily?

      • So to make the most of it we'll use it 10 days every single month for the next 2 years.
So that means they keep track??

        • So that means they keep track??

What do you think the membership card & number are for?

You are recorded on their system when you enter. They send a feedback form each time.

          No real issues there.
But the 10 day restriction is on office use rather than business lounge use.

Staff know me too well to ask for my card, so records show I rarely visit ;-)

        • @brucefromaustralia: Well given the lack of "checking" that you had detailed above I was under the impression that you literally flash the card (for some), or hand over the card, they have a quick glance and let you in. Didn't think they would punch anything in. Not complaining though. This is a great deal as it is.

        • @illumination:
They don't check me because they know I'm just there for the free stuff.

They have no idea I get membership free, so I'm otherwise treated as any paying client.

ID checking hasn't occurred, but could at a different location.

It's just hand over card, tappity-tap number entered, enjoy your visit.

Paying clients need the card to be recorded to be able to hire facilities, & it shows they were at work!

      • +1

That applies for people renting office space, not really us. A cubicle is not office space at Regus. I checked a long time ago.
