Search for All The Deals between Specific Dates

Hello all,I believe this topic hasn't been discussed here before and if so my apologies and please guide me to the link - Just wondering whether we have an option to look at all the deals between specific dates..For example i am in search of a new TV now and carrying the true ozbargain spirit for last few years i cannot imagine buying a tv and find out later that it was advertised for a cheaper price in the past.Well i am aware of statice but to be honest i trust ozbargain more.So coming back to the topic ,is there a way i can look for all the TV deals posted between 15th Dec 2014 until 05 Jan 2015.I do remember seeing some awesome deals then and doing a search with the tems "sony" "samsung" "4k" retrieved some results but i want to go through almost every single deal between those dates to see to what extend the price would budge on a specific model or screen size.I hope i explained it well for everyone to understand what i am looking for.

  • Have you tried searching by tag instead? Since that lists the deals in date order.

Eg in your case the tag lcd-tv would be most appropriate as that's the product category tag we have.

Additionally you could search for tv or 4k but there shouldn't be many results as they aren't product category tags. You can also search by brand tag, eg Sony or Samsung

  • Hi,

I think one of the best deals I saw was https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/181736

But, that is outside of the timeframe that you have selected, not a direct (and immediate delivery) and involved the co-purchase of Wine (Hic!) to be eligible.

Be aware that what may have been available late 2014/early 2015 may have been clearance (old) stock and could have been bought when the exchange rate was better.

Also, check out what Cashback/Rebate/Bonus deals are available now or even those that might come up for purchases before 30 June.

  • In a related question, is there any way to have the search results ordered by 'Date Posted', rather than 'Relevance', by default?

Whenever I do a search the results come back supposedly sorted by 'relevance' by default, but the OzB search engine seems hopeless at deciding what is the most 'relevant'; for example, often a bunch of expired deals come up on top of the search, while a still current deal posted a day or 2 prior will be some way down the list.

I'd like to have the search results returned ordered by 'Date Posted', by default. Is there a setting I can change somewhere?

Yep that can be done. Go to the search page & change the option to sort: post date (plus any other options you'd like to be set as default), then click on the 'Save' link to the right with the floppy disk icon and it will make those options as your default in future.

      • Awesome Hamz that worked a treat, thank you kindly :)

I think it's a useful suggestion to include date range to filter results. I'll look into it.

    • thanks Scotty and all the others who replied.Sorry got really busy and only got a chance to check back replies..

Update from this morning — you can now search nodes within a date range by adding created: prefix and using yyyymmdd to specify the date. For example if you are looking for "iPad" posted on and only on 2nd of June 2015, you search with

However if you are looking for iPad from the entire May 2015, you search with

    Please note that

    • You can have at most one created: keyword prefix in your search query
    • It currently uses server timezone (Sydney) for the day boundary.
