  • I also got this email from PricePal…

  • received the same email but on the site it only says 10% off..

    http://pricepal.com.au/Telstra-Pre-Paid

    hrmm…

  • When you click on the 'Get Cashback' link in the email, where does it take you to?

    • it takes to link that iamtezr has pasted above.

    • It takes you straight to the Telstra website.
But it does say 'redirecting to store. You're on your way to earning "10.00% cashback'

Have emailed Pricepal to confirm. Will keep everyone posted once i get a response.

    • Going through cashreward showing the $30 starter kit as $30 not $15. hrmm..
Going through Pricepal shows the $30 starter kit as 50% off = $15

Anyone else seeing this as well?

  • is it 10% or $10 cashback?

    • Email says $10 and pricepal website says 10%. But in either case, starter pack is still $15.

  • +1

this is the link to cashrewards for the $15 starter pack with the $10 cashback http://www.cashrewards.com.au/coupons/save-50-on-telstra-30-…

  • How much data do you get on the starter kit? I remember it used to be 3gigs, but I think Telstra has reduced that.

    • You have to activate it as data and you should get $30 worth which is 3gb. CMIIW

  • +1

How come in the picture of the sim pack it says and description it says "$15 Pre-Paid SIM Starter Kit", this is different to the normal $30 pack isn't it?

    • +1

I agree that the picture is weird - it should say $30. But it clearly states that $30 credit is included for that price, and the invoice says $30 minus a 50% discount.

      • Noticed it too but couldn't be bothered to raise it. And, I have since received the $30 kit from the other earlier cash rewards deal, there is no such thing as $15 kit.

        • +1

The image is different because we're linking through to a bespoke 50% off deal page, which is promoting the $15 for $30 offer :)

  • +3

Cashback is $10 - http://pricepal.com.au/Telstra-Pre-Paid, sorry for the confusion.

    • When does cashback get paid? After order or after activation of the SIM?

      • Should be up to 7 days after order according to the fine print.

        • That's for it to get recorded not paid.

          For payment it says:
"Confirmation and payment of cashback takes up to 90 days (to allow for the return period of goods to pass)"

        • +1

Hi ethanol, cashback is tracked on purchase of the SIM Starter Kit, not activation. thanks. The actual payment of cashback will follow the usual cashback payment schedule (i.e. once PricePal receives the commission, we'll pay the cashback). thanks

          @PricePalTeam:
Can more than 1 starter pack be purchased to benefit from the $10 cashback on each transaction?

        • +2

@iamtezr: As long as you're allowed to purchase more than one starter pack from the Telstra website (which it seems you are), then we aren't aware of any reason why you wouldn't received $10 cashback each order.

        • @PricePalTeam: Hi PricePalTeam. Does that mean that I should see the $10 in the recorded area immediately after purchase, because I completed my purchase tonight, and it still shows $0 recorded.

        • +1

@youknow: From pricepal website: - You will receive an email from PricePal to advise your cashback has been recorded, usually within 24 hours of your purchase (but it may take up to 7 days)

        • @cniminc: Ta :)

        • +1

@youknow: Transactions aren't recorded instantly, they're usually picked up within 24 hours, as there is a delay between when you make the purchase and when the merchant lets us know you made the purchase. They usually report to us the next day, but worst case is up to 7 days. Once it is recorded, you'll receive a confirmation email letting you know that the transaction has been tracked (if you don't receive one within 7 days, let us know and we'll look into it for you)

        • @PricePalTeam: Thanks pricepalteam. Seeing as you're super responsive tonight… If I have the $20 unclaimed buddy bonus, and you pay the $10 cash back, does that mean that the cash back is effectively doubled (to $20 in this instance), leaving $10 unclaimed buddy bonus? I hope that made sense.

        • +1

@youknow: You got it spot on, couldn't have said it better, hope you don't mind us borrowing your paragraph ;)

  • +1

So it's $5 for $30 of google play credit?

    • Yes

      • can you confirm you can use all the $30 starting credit on the play store?

        • +1

Yes you can, Upto a max purchase of $20 per transaction. Then you can use all the other cap credit as per normal.

    • tell me more?

      • +4

        Read the wiki.

  • Contacted Pricepal through their contact us form. Confirmed $10 cashback and not 10% cashback.

  • +1

OP/mods.. can you please put the the random referral link for pricepal in the description. Thanks

    • Done. Just hit the report button next time :)

      • OK thanks for that.. will do

  • am I blind? i am all the way to entering credit card information, and yet haven't seen where they ask you what type of SIM card you need?

or is this one of SIM card that can be used for all sim slots?

  • Bought 2 of these yesterday. Ah well, could have got a couple of dollars more off

  • +1

    Thanks for sharing!

Bought one through PricePal ($10 cashback).

Bought another through Cash Rewards ($12 cashback).

  • +1

First we need you to confirm two things.
I have less than five Pre-Paid mobile services (including this service) and this purchase is for private use.

    awkwaaard

    • How many are activated at one moment?

      • About 12 i think… only two have any balance right now.

  • +1

How many cash backs can u claim?

  • Can I buy this and transfer the credit to my existing Telstra pre paid..if so, how ?

    • Activate the new service and use Credit Me2U. Daily restrictions apply.

Note that you can only transfer the core $30 (well most of it) and none of the bonuses (i.e. talk time / data).

      • Thanks for the reply.. I'm using long expiry one in my existing sim..how would this 30$ appear once I transfer it..

        • as $29 of real credit (you lose 0.75 of a dollar doing three x credit me2u)

        • I don't want to go off-topic of this deal. If you want more info, you can PM me.

  • +1

Cash rewards is $12 cash back

  • +1

    Thanks OP.
Altough after the purchase process on the Telstra site, their section "What's next" says "Your new SIM card doesn't include any credit so after it's activated you need to recharge it before using the service", which sounds like there is no initial credit. I hope I put it through right? Bought through the cash rewards links.

  • Can you use this credit to unlock a nokia 530 phone. Assuming you can transfer credit between accounts.

    • Yes, It can be used to unlock a phone

  • i wanted to use as google play credit but sees the idea to swap sims are a bit troublesome.
    yes i have google reward

    • Do you have two phones? Doesn't matter how old. Can transfer via #111# option 1, 6 ($10 at a time, $0.25 fee)

      • i have other phones but my main phone is with tpg. can i transfer?

        • Easiest thing would be to have a super cheap Telstra-unlocked android phone you use the "junk" sims on just to buy from the play store (not sure if it will let you buy any incompatible software with the cheap phone though)

        • +1

@spillmill: ah yeah once i made purchase with my gmail account the app will stay and i can install on different mobile.

        • @spillmill: once you've enabled carrier billing for the sim, you can then use a beefier tablet (or even the nexus player!) to pay for software.

  • Good deal but didn't work for me, maybe due to having way more than 5 sims active.

  • I just bought it through CR … Where is it showing 12$ cash back…? I can't find anything….

    • It will track within 7 days

  • I bought one through PricePal and one through CashRewards with same address and phone number and credit card details.
I just received a text saying my order had been stopped. I assume because they think it is a duplicate.
Telstra Control Centre is only open during business hours, so I have to wait until tomorrow to resolve it.

  • +1

I bought 3 through CashRewards and 3 through PricePal, I found that after using the same credit card 3 times it won't put through anymore orders so used 2 different debit cards.

    • yup, found that too. I'm assuming that Cashrewards themselves don't limit their cash back offer to x amount of orders…

  • I checked CR page and it does not say its $15 for $30 starter pack. Am i missing something here?
    http://www.cashrewards.com.au/telstra-pre-paid

    • click on the prepaid details tab and down the bottom of that page the deal is there.

      • I found it and updated in OP for others.

        • Also note Cashrewards says the deal expires June 30.

        • @forumninja: Benefit with pricepal is buddy bonus of $20.

        • @cniminc: How does that work?

        • @aussie28: If you use referral link , you and referee both get $20.

        • @cniminc: Is that for 1 transaction or can I do that for every transaction?

        • @aussie28: Sorry, I don't know about it, I have never dealt with pricepal before.
Edit: From pricepal website - "Through our Buddy Bonus Program you can receive $20 bonus cashback every time a friend joins."

        • reading pricepal's terms for this bonus..

i believe that only the referee gets the $20 bonus not both.
and only if the referee gets $20 cash back too.
meaning they will match your cashback dollar for dollar.

this all only applies to the referee, not his friend.

        • @stalker878:
          No. Both gets $20.
          From here: https://pricepal.com.au/account/buddy-bonus
Refer a friend for $20 And your friend gets $20 too!
After your friend joins, we'll pay you a bonus $20 when you earn $20 cashback

        • @cniminc:

I read through and summarised the long paragraph of fine print below that…

        • @stalker878: Seems i need to sleep now.I misread your comment. Sorry for that.

        • +1

Folks, you may also like to take note of the "AND" condition in the fine print as copied & pasted below :
"PricePal will pay you $20 “buddy bonus” cashback for every new member who you refer that joins PricePal AND INSTALLS the PricePal WEB APP – see “qualified referral” below…"

  • I cannot understand how this deal is getting less votes than the recent optus deal when it's so much better…

    • More voters use Optus than Telstra?
They've had problems purchasing? (So far, I've hopefully managed 2 out of 4 attempts)
They're waiting to vote after they see what Telstra does in the morning?

  • How do we get $30 google play credit?

    • Did you read the Wiki as suggested in the description?

  • +1

    Let me get this straight..
so if you get all the combination of deals right via PricePal, which are…

    • 50% off $30 Telstra Pre-Paid SIM Card ($15)
    • $10 Cashback from PricePal (-$10)
    • $20 Referral bonus for 48 hours (-$20)

You will get it for a net price of -$15?

Alternatively, you via CashRewards and get it with the following combinations..

    • 50% off $30 Telstra Pre-Paid SIM Card ($15)
    • $12 Cashback from CashRewards (-$12)

You will get it for a net price of $3?

  • +1

is there a limit how many you can buy from cashrewards and pricepal?

    • +1

We shall see whether Telstra care about people ordering 5+
You already need a different credit/debit card per 3 you order (or a chat with Telstra to allow unlimited transactions, if their billing platform supports it).

No rep has confirmed multiple cashbacks either, but there is also no fine print saying "limit 1".

Pricepal rep has replied back :)

  • So its $10 cashback for each starter pack or each order?
