Suggestions on shoes for my wedding

Hi everyone,

Just wondering what people would suggest for leather shoes for my wedding?

I'm wearing a plain black suit and white cotton shirt. At this stage, no tie or bow tie, open collar.

Looking to spend up to $150. Looking at buying in store and looking at Myers and David Jones. Saw some reduced Ted Baker for $125 but I needed at half size and didn't like the toe so pointy. I would like to wear this for other special occasions and many weddings I'm attending this year.

  • asks for shoes dosnt give size.
making it harder on people :P

  • some nice Florsheim tanned brown leather shoes on special in city ~$90 … not sure where but mates wedding this weekend and he got it cheap.. normally $150

  • to be honest, you have more problems to focus on than just shoes.

Black is one of the worst choice of colours for a suit. Try navy, charcoal, grey or even white.

Unless of course if you are wearing a tuxedo, which by all means go for black colour and a non-negotiable bow tie. Open collar just makes you look lazy and 'douchey'

As for shoes, any dark colour would do fine. Black, all shades of dark brown, burgundy and my personal favorite oxblood colour.

if you are heading for a slick look try Single ( or Double) monk captoe shoes

  • I'm a size 11.5.

I thought it was a fashion no no to have any other coloured shoes with a black suit.

This was more a post on recommendations on stores that are around that price or some great discounts like the RM Williams down to $200.

    • you are right, it is a fashion no no to wear non black shoes with a black suit.Which is why it is preferable to wear non black suit so you'll have a range of shoes colours to play with. But it's all preference really.

depending on the state you reside, Floorsheim, Llyods, Henry Bucks (on sale Vic and NSW), Luisa (on sale Vic), Beggar Man Thief (on sale Vic) stores are around your budget.

  • where you from? i purchased nice black dress shoes from DFO South Wharf. I think it was the Windsor Smith outlet. About $120.

  • +1

Are you able to get to a DFO? Aquila has factory outlets. They have nice good quality men's shoes for a decent price, IMO :)
