    A very good price (obviously).

    I have used it in the past and even with my core i7, 16GB ram, 1GB video, SSD laptop, it seemed to run really slowly! I have a feeling it works better as a plugin rather than a standalone program.

    But at this price, you might as well try it yourself

    This Effects module is I think the best part of their OnOne Suite collection so am quite surprised that they still give it away for free. Bought their v7 Suite a couple years back but am more than happy to now stick with their Effects freebie.

      I'm actually a fan of the 9.5 Suite. Their online videos are really helpful. It is slow and a resource hog if you've folders with lots of RAW pics. I've never used Lightroom, just used Gimp and paint.net previously.

    I have been using irfanview for over 10 years, I havent yet had to look past it. Its free, open source, easy to use and lightweight. Is there any reason i should look at this software besides that its free?

      Irfanview is for viewing/cataloguing photos AFTER you make it awesome by using Perfect Effects to edit/manipulate those photos.

          Jackson, if irfanview has been enough for you for the last 10 years, then it will enough for you in the next few years.
          you don't need this particular program.

          Now for those of us who want to try out something more fancy than irfanview for free, "Perfect Effects" fits the purpose nicely. If it does indeed turns out to be too laggy, I will uninstall it. We're not stuck with it for anything.

          Also, there is no reason why these 2 programs cannot co-exist. They were designed for different buyers and not mutually exclusive.

          @superkieu: I feel like people are always too critical of people asking legitimate questions. What I am saying is I am in no way bagging the deal, just asking what I might use it for that's so good? By stating that I use irfanview I am simply trying to give people a reference point for what I am using now, it's a pretty popular app and been around for 15 years so I thought it would help people understand the type of user I am. Either way it seems like often when people ask a question it's construed as starting something akin to an apple vs android or Mac vs pc war.

          All I am trying to ascertain if there are indeed reasons why this app is worth picking over any others, it could be it's a default standard, exceptional in a particular area, particularly easy to use etc. I appreciate the responses so far but none of them really answer my question, and I get down voted along the way.
