Behringer B208D 8" 200W Amplified Speaker (PA System) $189 Delivered - Kosmic Sound

100

Hi Guys,

Was looking for an amplified speaker. DJ City just upped their price from $199 to $259 but Kosmic has it for $189 including delivery.

Very good price for a solid PA System speaker.

Note- Will not run on eneloops. Not dishwashable, even with Finish Quantum Tablets.

  • Thinking about buying two of these just for listening to music at home in the room downstairs, mp3 and cd.

But I'm no audiophile. Is this a good idea or not? Any advice appreciated.

My advice. Go into a music store that has them hooked up on display and listen across the range. Inside a house a pair of these is crazy loud enough for me.

Yeah, they'll do the job BUT these are PA speakers, not Hifi speakers and there are differences. The main difference is that these will only start sounding 'good' when the wick has been turned up a lot more than your neighbours would probably like ;) They will also work well down low but you will probably find you'll have to boost the Bass & Treble controls a bit. These are designed to throw sound across a large area so if you do get them be prepared to deal with a LOT of noise ;) Go listen to a pair and crank 'em up!

  • Just note this is a single speaker for $189, not a pair as the title might suggest to some.

    • What this guy said.

  • Nice find sabaramo. The rest of the their pricing seems pretty average, but those B208Ds are a great price.

  • I think worth the extra for the 10" speakers.

    • Those MS20 look lovely. Would make a great replacement for my PC speakers in my office. I mainly use them for listening to music when I work.

      • Hey ShipShape. I've got an old version of the MS20s and it appears the only difference is the look of the woofer, mine have 'cheaper' looking black & white cones. They definitely sound 'OK' and I use them for various projects and testing etc. but for the money I'd be recommending you get a nice set of 2.1 Computer Speakers instead. Either that or grab a pair of Voll Bookshelf speakers ($99) and a cheapie Tripath Amp direct from China ($50-$60) and you'll get far better sound. The only reason I like my MS20s is the flexibility of having an inbuilt DAC making them my 'go to' speakers for basic stuff. Here's a very dodgy little video of me testing my Cobblestone via the MS20s as they were close & convenient at the time: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oDE8Xrc1SdU

I thought I'd update this for future reference. I bought two if these on Friday night and they were delivered Tuesday.

Top stuff. They weren't kidding when they said fast delivery. Thanks Kosmic!

    • Nice! Please write a small simple review here as others may be interested in how they sound/perform. I notice they're still on available and still on sale.
