PSA Warning!!! Tmart.com will sell stuff they don't have in warehouse and then take 3 weeks to tell you they will not restock

On July 30 2015, I paid to buy this from tmart
http://www.tmart.com/Z18-3-Mini-Tripod-Sportpod-Black_p17817…

Then on 22 August 2015, they sent me an email telling me they have no stock to send to me.

See emails from them here:

Now I am without an equipment for an upcoming event.

Thankfully they refunded my money within 24 hours .

TL:DR
Don't trust this Chinese supplier with their last century stock ordering system and useless website.
And keep an eye on tracking your purchases if you buy from online sellers.

what exactly is the public service announcement though?

I think everyone knows by now. If you order something from a chinese/hongkong retailer, it will take the customary 3-6 weeks or it won't come at all :p.

This seems a little over the top for a mini tripod.

I guess that everybody did not include the me 3 weeks ago, hence this PSA.

If you have plans for using an equipment in an upcoming event and now you are without one , perhaps you would not think this PSA is over the top.

      • You get what you pay for, if you NEEDED the item by a set date you buy local.

Tell that to somebody who live in the Australian outback.

There are many things you cannot get locally, or as convenient.

        • @Lurker:

You can't get it shipped from an Australian seller?

        • @Ughhh:

Sure I could, if I had money to burn.

And then I wouldn't be using ozbargain to bitch about unreliable Chinese suppliers.

Because I had no use for ozbargain then.

I would be like this joker here.

I believe these Chinese suppliers along with some Australian ones are essentially taking orders then "Dropshipping" the products to the customer via a third party. Problems arise when they take an order that their Dropshipping supplier cannot fulfil!

  • Follow up to my disastrous encounter with the unreliable tmart.com:

    I ended up buying from

    https://www.fasttech.com/product/1443719-sportpod-z18-3-outd…

    for about the same price.

I received it within 3 weeks.

    Moral of the lesson:

    (profanity) Tmart.
    Thank you Fasttech.

  • I'm on the same boat now; purchased item on the 18th Nov; and it is 10th Dec now…let's hope it arrives before Christmas

  • Same problem for me.

    Date:07/21/2016
    Order Status: Held
    Payment Status: Completed

Two months later I finally get around to asking Tmart Support about my order and the immediate response is:

"We will ship out in 1-2 days"

This is despite the item in the order now being listed as "discontinued" on their website. Nonetheless, Tmart Support assures me there is still one of the items in their warehouse and after they ship I only need to wait 3-4 weeks and my order will arrive. I remain sceptical.

I will reply to this comment with any updates, but I doubt I will be recommending Tmart to anyone in the future.
