Kirks 24 Cans $5 at Coles (55.5c/L)

940

Spotted these at Coles at The Gap (QLD) , no idea if they are at other stores confirmed from chrism238 & iscooljoey2 that it is also available at WA and SA so it looks nationwide.

The Gap have a lot remaining in lemonade, creaming soda and lemon. Located at the end of an aisle at the back of the store.

    Claremont Quarter, WA, too.

    • Did they have a lot of stock?

      • +1

About half as much in the above photo, on Sunday.

        • Awesome thanks :)

  • damn thats cheap ive seen them for $10 at both my local woolies and coles.

I bought for $7 from my local coles not too long ago. Regret the decision though it tasted awful.

    • Try taking it out of the can first. Aluminium not only tastes awful, but is bad for you.

      • Not sure why my comment is so neg worthy. I bought it because it was cheap not too long ago but personally thought it did not taste great compared to other brands.

        • It's made by CCA, likely at the same canneries where Coke/Fanta/Sprite etc are made, it is aimed at a different market and as such the product is modified so not to compete with CCA products (note they do not produce a cola beverage), but it is not lacking in quality.

        • @Sir Casm:

          this makes them completely different…
its all about the formula /ingredients. you know new coke ? made by CCA but hey , people didnt like it.

        • @Settero:

Well done for completely missing the point, which has zero to do with taste, that being entirely subjective and all and entirely down to the individual.

Kirks is a CCA brand, but it's targeted at a completely different audience, hence the not so subtle variation in branding, promotion & price point. Despite that, it's still a CCA product and, I strongly suspect, made in the same factories as other products in the CCA family, given economies of scale, and therefore is exactly the same quality as Coke/Lift/Fanta etc etc, but as you very correctly (though perhaps misguidedly) point out, is made from slightly different recipes…though I bet you can't taste the difference between a Kirks Lemon Squash and a Lift…

You do realise that the inside of cans are coated to protect the liquid from touching the aluminium.

        • +2

Sorry, poor attempt at humour - I was questioning whether mark96 was eating the cans whole

The "aluminium is bad for you" myth that just won't die…

      • Regarding Alzheimer’s disease there's no problem

Myth 4: Drinking out of aluminum cans or cooking in aluminum pots and pans can lead to Alzheimer’s disease.

Reality: During the 1960s and 1970s, aluminum emerged as a possible suspect in Alzheimer’s. This suspicion led to concern about exposure to aluminum through everyday sources such as pots and pans, beverage cans, antacids and antiperspirants. Since then, studies have failed to confirm any role for aluminum in causing Alzheimer’s. Experts today focus on other areas of research, and few believe that everyday sources of aluminum pose any threat.

Coles west lakes SA has a few left.

    • +6

In SA its an even better bargain. After the 10c you get back for each can, its only $2.60 for 24 cans… making them 11c each.

      • 10c on every can in SA? You guys rock! It puts the rewards from the Envirobank machine to shame.

  • +2

can confirm coles brimbank central deer park sell these as well

  • nice QLD! . thanks op i will have to have a look tomorrow :D hope some are left..

  • +2

Nice find. Wish there were sugar free flavours (sigh).

    • +1

Kirks do make sugar free lemonade and lemon squash flavours, my loval stocks them in SA, always the last ones legt when they're half price as matt_will_fix_it

      • +1

        • +1

yes but they don't seem to be sugar free in these 24 slabs

  • Nice

I saw these at Middle Park, QLD on Saturday. Best before of 16/11/2015.

    • +1

Stock must vary. Mine say 16/09/16.

  • +1

Where's the Pasito? Isn't that Kirks?

    • +1

      Yeah thats Kirks.

    • +2

One of the signs said Pasito so they must have had some, unfortunately I couldn't see any remaining though.

  • Any interstate?

  • Can confirm at least one store in VIC. $5 while stocks last but was creaming soda only. Other Kirks varieties were $10 for 24, still pretty good.

    • Same at my store.

  • +2

I work at Coles, these items are non standard lines, meaning that once the store runs out of stock that's it. The promo ended a week or two ago, so there would not be much stock left in stores. Stock up on these while you can, especially for that price. It may be a while until coles get these items back.

  • Coles Mooloolaba had a few yellow slabs down the front tonight, possibly more elsewhere. Didn't look that close as was chasing my toddler past them at the time. Did notice them though as they seemed so cheap.

  • Saw them today, Coles Firle SA, $4.69 each.

  • +2

Lots at Birkenhead Point and a few at World Square (NSW).

  • I got told by a coles staff member they are $6.50 in SA?

    • Yeah, Blackwood and Edwardstown has them for $6.50.

  • +2

    $5 diabetes

  • Wish Kirks did their sugarfree creaming soda in these 24-packs. That stuff is like liquid crack

    • Sugar free creaming soda really that good? I've never tried it; might now though based on your comment :)

      • It's awesome. I've seen the blocks of 10 cans at Coles and Woolies for half price more often than ive seen them at full price. for the ~$5 per block I usually pay, its a great deal.

    • They had sugar free creamin soda in my local store for $4.xx

      • That's for the blocks of 10 though, right? not these 24-can packs?

  • Picked up second to last creamy soda at Coles McLaren Vale.
That was an hour ago so likely none left.

  • These have been at most of the Coles' near me for the last couple weeks since they were going for 10. One store dropped them to five bucks one day but then they were all gone. Anyway, they were all over the place near me in Croydon, Vic, so keep your eyes out I guess.

I'd have grabbed some, but none of the stores had diet ones, and the amount I go through, I do not need all that sugar.

    • Where was your post on ozbargain?

      • Didn't feel it necessary, if I put a post up for every thing I cheap ass my way into getting I'd be here all day. I bought the new Guitar Hero bundle on PS4 the other day for 75 when it's retail is 150. I love to help and everything, but I never know when something's worth posting or not, so unless it seems ridiculously good and there's plenty of availability, I'm just that prick who comments saying he got something better. Admin can fix up the post to make it look better.

        • How did you get Guitar Hero for that price?

        • -1

@allegiance86: K-Mart had (I say had, because I saw their new catalogue and it's 119 now) it for 109, then I I had 35 bucks on a gift card I got for JB from a site that does surveys and used it there so I could price match. So I suppose I kind of stretched the truth, but it sounded cooler, didn't it?

        • @treeman: Fair enough, I'll keep that in mind then. Don't expect a lot of posts, but if something seems worthwhile I'll try to start throwing it up. :)

  • $5 seems expensive for a kilogram of sugar :P
