Telstra just brought out a new deal that discounts $240 off any postpaid smartphone/tablet when you purchase an eligible Telstra plan. Works for existing customers upgrading and new customers.

Works in conjunction to the previous $50 byo/12 months with 7Gb data and $200 credit (bringing it down to $33.3 if you stay over 12 months) (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/217715)

  Bit the bullet and got the 7gb plan for $40p/m + $528 for the z5 compact outright. Very happy :)

  Late to the party: is the $200 credit still available to new customers?
  Say I went for the $50 12 month plan, does the $240 credit apply to iPhone 6 or 6S 64gb handset, if so how much?
  Also, the original post mentioned an iPad mini 2 for an additional $18 over 24 months, is this still valid?
