time for me to retire, you beat me to the post.

  • Can you use NAS hdd to be usual desktop hdd?

Rep: any stock on razer blackwidow chroma?

    • +1

yes you can but best to buy a nas on our future promotion to make full use of a NAS drive :P.

Rep: any stock on razer blackwidow chroma? <== nope this one is not coming in anytime soon.

      • When will the next NAS promotion be? :)

      • perhaps razer leviathan on group B? :p fingerscrossed

      • Any QNAP 4 or 6 bays gonna be on promotion?

Would be keen for the CPU + motherboard combo but nothing in Group C
Some 8GB DDR4 would be great, or even a nice case.

Not if OzBargainer's make good use of eBay deals when they're available.

      Intel 6600K
      $322.30 kogan
      $337.93 kogan (ebay)
      $270.34 kogan (ebay -20%)
      $352 umart

      Gigabyte H170-D3H
      $175 EYO
      $194 MSY

      = $445-464

Which makes the third category cost about $36-55.

      Note comment below, it's a H motherboard, not a Z.

      • i thought the ebay -20% not applicable to kogan ebay tho

        • Not this month. It'll be back another month.

        • @Lukian:

          ah i see, $270 is a steal

        • @k3nn3th323: Indeed. I acquired a GTX 980 for $587.90 during one of the earlier eBay promos featuring Kogan this year.

        • @Lukian:

i didnt even know about that deal :( hope they'll have another one soon

        • @Lukian: I disagree as Kogan just lift the price to compensate for the discount like they did before

  • H170 motherboard and K unlocked processor? Odd combination, can we have a deal on a OC capable mobo?

    • prob from z170 series

Some ram for the NUC in group C and i would be a sure buy, even 4gigs :)

    • Agreed, very tempting! Though 8gb would be even nicer. ;)

Super keen to get a NUC, not sure if I should wait for 6th gen or jump on this deal…

RAM should be up soon, we don't have many stock atm, so please stay sharp.

  • Hey Guys,
Looking for some help from Tech experts / Rep here. I want to build a good Quality NAS, with plenty of space (2 or 3 TB is enough for me). but this Trifecta gives just one disk right? Can I get two disks ?

    1) Netgear ReadyNAS 314 4-Bay Diskless NAS(shoppingexpress.com.au) Decent Reviews on Amazon for this Nas

    2) Seagate NAS 3TB SATA 3.5" Internal Hard Drive

    3) Logitech M905 Anywhere Mouse

Since it's a 4 Bay and I am adding 1 3TB drive Can I pair that with another 4 TB drive that I can butcher from a WD hard Disk ?

Alternatively I have a 1.5 TB hard drive from ALDI NAs, Can I pair that with the 3 TB above? or is it recommended to have the drives the same size / type.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Yes, but you'll have 3TB usable in RAID1 redundancy. Or if you don't care about redundancy and after happy to lose whatever data is on either disk, you could use them separately.

You can, but you'll have 1.5TB usable in RAID1. It's recommended you have drives the same size. I'd also recommended the drives are from diverse batches/manufacturers (so they don't all fail at once), but similar performance.

      • Thank you @Lukian Appreciate your comment, Thanks for the info.

So IN raid Configuration, I can use only the lower disk as they both will be a mirror of each other. I assume we set this configuration up from the NAS's control software. WIll look at this.
        Thanks

        • +1

You can use smaller + bigger disks, but the RAID size will always be that of the smaller disk. So you would end up with either 4.5TB (with no RAID), or 1.5TB with RAID1.

    • sorry mate, no video card in group A.

      • Hi there, when will the Arlo be in stock? And honestly, the category C items all have limited use for me and are stopping me from making an order. Could you add a few different options please?

Woo hoo. Two Xmas presents for the kids (Orbotix Sphero 2.0 and Sony MDRX) and a present for myself (Asus H100TA - after chucking Linux on it)

What a steal. I didn't expect to spend $499 this morning, but bargain! I registered just to comment on this one haha.
