  • Does ING still do the PayPass rebate? If so, what percent?

  • pay salary? can i pay my self without filling the salary pay form?

    • +1

Yes, any external account will work. It doesn't need to be salary.

  • To confirm, you must make a $1000 payment in December, and another again in January?

  • +4

Not received email with the code :(

  • I've updated my referral code in my OZB profile too. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone (and especially to anyone who might wish to use my referral code) :D

What is the wiki link where we can post our referral code. Meanwhile, as I can't see the referral link, I am posting my referral code here. Sorry, if it is against the rule. But, please share the link where we can post our codes before removing the comments.

I can't access the link that you provided…

        • +1

It's not a link? Go to the top of the page and click my account, then click on settings, then click on edit, then click on referrals. Sigh

        • @verapa:

          Thanks Verapa - Got it…

  • +1

So is this like the ME deal where you don't get bonus if you already have an account? Hard to imagine any ozbs left that DO NOT have an ING account from previous 5% rebate offer.

    • me

  • +1

I'm already an account holder but haven't got any referral code.. just wondering how they are generated or they are targeted from Bank..? If anyone can clarify this please.. Thank's

    • +4

It's a targeted promo. I never received the promo nor referral code.

When I called them to inquire they said it's targeted

    • +1

I would like to know this as well!

  • What does your pay into account mean? Can I just deposit $1000? Or ask my friend to send $1000. Will that satisfy conditions?

    • +1

As long as the $1,000 comes from an external bank account (i.e. you can't just transfer money back and forth between a couple of linked ING accounts), then it doesn't matter what the source is, and it doesn't have to be done in a single deposit, it could be several deposits as long as the total is at least $1000 and it's within the same calendar month. As per the terms and conditions of this offer, the deposit doesn't have to be into the Orange Everyday (OE) account - it can be deposited into ANY ING personal account (except for Living Super) so the money could go into a Savings Maximiser account and start earning high interest straight away.

      • Does the $1000,- need to remain in the account till the end of January? In other words, in total $1000,- needs to be deposited and no withdrawals can be made?

        • +1

          You can withdraw the $1000.

        • +2

There's nothing in the Ts & Cs for this offer stating that there has to be a certain closing balance, and I think other similar offers have been the same. As long as the deposit requirements are met, then it qualifies, as far as I'm aware and you don't have to leave the money in the account.

      • That's cool..looks like ING is making an impression.

  • Couple of questions :-

do you have to close an account to open this one

when transferring money to another bank how long does it take ? Is it same day or does it take a couple of days ?

    • If you mean do you have to close an account with another bank, then no, you can have as many bank accounts as you want - but the Ts & Cs do state: If your friend has previously held an Orange Everyday bank account between 14 December 2013 and 13 December 2015, then both you and your friend are ineligible for this offer.

I've usually found ING transfers to be pretty quick - transfers to CBA and NAB done in the morning are usually same day or at latest, the next (working) dayr. Transfers to Citibank sometimes take a day or two. Of course it varies from bank to bank and I think transfers to credit union accounts usually take a bit longer.

Have made over $300 last year in PayWave rebates alone, plus no ATM withdrawal fees from any ATM… why would anyone use something else. Highly recommended.

  • +2

where do existing members find their referral code to give to a friend?

    • +3

e-mail, and apparently as mentioned previously in the thread it is a targeted offer.

      • +2

cheers. i sort-of pieced that together after going through the comments. lame! i guess they cottoned on to the fact that i haven't used my account since opening it a year ago..

For eligible applicants, the $75 will be deposited into the applicant's Orange Everyday the month after you meet all applicable Eligibility Criteria. Where the eligible applicant holds the Orange Everyday account in a joint capacity, only one payment of $75 will be made to that account under the offer. Customers who have registered for the separate ING DIRECT 'Orange Everyday New Customer Movie Offer' are ineligible for this promotion.

Thanks to everyone that participates. I really adore the Ozbargain community for helping each other out. Also, ING Direct has been a wonderful bank for me so far and would not have known about it without everyone's help and recommendation here.

    • Was thinking of it too, but what's the cheapest brokerage?
Some charge you around $20 per trade, which is exorbitantly high.

  • +1

Where is my referer code? 3 emails come to my inbox, but I cant find anywhere of my referer code !

  • I've updated my referral code in my account now. Hopefully I get some random hits. :)

  • where can i find my referral code?

  • +3

Congratulation to cowiie for earning 75,000$ from referring!

  • For those of you who use gmail, check your promotions tab :)

  • Ok sorry for being an idiot but I would like to sign up. Apart from OP how do I get someones referral code.

    • Below the post you will see:

Referral Links:  cowiie or random (276)

      Click on the random link.

      • +5

Thanks, chose a random one. No offense Cowiie just wanted to share the love as you've probably had multiple sign up.

  • Someone should try getting the 8 Free Movie Tickets using the last ING deal which seems active still. I unfortunately can't because am an existing ING customer.
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/215372

    • Referred two people with that in October and still, don't have my tickets. Sent a msg to ING and they had a different friend code recorded for me than what was sent in email. Now awaiting their response.

  • I'd like to use one of your referrals but I can't see anyone's referral code in your profile. All I see are in this pic:
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/01o0lmny0b5bchx/Screen%20Shot%2020…

    what am I missing?

    • You just want to use a referral code to sign up to the deal?

If so, below the post you will see:

Referral Links:  cowiie or random (281)

Click on cowiie to use the posters code or random to use a random members code. That will take you to the ING sign up page.

Let us know if any problems.

      • Thanks, not sure how I missed that.

  • Just went to update my referral code and it says "Last Click: 1 hour 21 min ago". I think that means I missed out on $75 0_o

    • Possibly missed out, you don't know if the member who clicked it was signing up or just having a look :)

    • Agree with hamza23, don't worry about it too much, I doubt everyone that clicks actually signs up. Hope remains!!!

    • ^cheers to you both. I don't feel regret for having booked a haircut after work now. normally I would have been home and have updated my referral code before that click had registered

  • WHAT'S THE CATCH?

    Why free money?

Can you sign up, get the $75, and then withdraw everything and cancel account?

    • no catch. it's to attract business. not everyone wants to just rort the $75 and peace out. Remember you get 2% cashback on paywave purchases with your Ing card so if you don't have anything better going on with other cards then that is a nice little discount to have in your wallet.

    • I'm sure there's a lot of people that realise this is probably the best savings account around after signing up. No fees, good support, good app, 2% cashback on PayWave and use any ATM for free.

  • ING has had so many good promos, doesn't everyone already have an account with them? Is there a single ozbargainer that hasn't got a account with them???

  • +3

Used the random referral link to help fellow OzB earn $75

  • +1

not receive the email. guess i am not been chose. have to ask my friends to wait until next round.

  • Got my referral today and as mentioned by someone above it was in the promotions tab in gmail, have updated my profile if anyone needs a code ;0

    • my gamil does not have promotions tab. do not know why

  • Erm… I think the People's Choice referral is still going? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/203368
And you don't need a thousand dollars, just $3 for $50 for each person. I think opening an account online is harder than ING, but if you have a credit file, should go through.

  • Got to be in it to win it. Referral updated.

  • Received the email… I have been very happy with ING :)
    Updated referral.

  • I received the e-mail from ING Direct this afternoon. Updated my referral code in my profile. You are welcome to use it. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. :-)

  • Limited to the first 4000 eligible applicants.

Is there any way to know that you will receive the bonus as there may be 4000 who already signed up.

Also, it's a bit unclear from the following how the eligibility is determined for the first 4000.

The offer commences 14 December 2015 and is only available to the first 4,000 eligible applicants who satisfy the applicable Eligibility Criteria by 31 January 2016.

  • I also got the $75 offer email today. Updated my referral code in my profile if anyone would like to use it! :)

  • The most recommended bank in Australia.

  • An ad banner popped up on my screen offering $160 of movie tickets for free for new ING Orange Everyday Customers, but I'm unable to open the link (maybe due to antivirus settings). Does anyone know how this works?

Edit: fine print on the banner as follows: To be eligible, open an Orange Everyday bank account and deposit $100 or more within a calendar month before 31/12/2015. New customers only. Each adult ticket has a RRP of $21. Further conditions apply. Consider the terms and conditions at ingdirect.com.au issued by ING Banks (Australia) Limited.

Hopefully it stacks with the referral bonus.

Edit 2: Appears to be a separate promotion for new customers as well so its one or the other.

Here's the link to the promotion and heres the T&C's

  • Does this work for signing up a joint account instead of individual?
Updated my settings with my code - fingers crossed it gets clicked :)

  • ING Direct is the best bank in Australia.

    3.5% savings interest
    2% paywave cashback
    All ATMs FREE Australiawide
You can enable zero fees on your super balance (most other super companies have these ridiculous admin fees even if you don't work)
    Great customer service

  • Guys,
I have updated my referral code. Wish me a merry Christmas :)

  • +6

Just signed up using a random referral code. Merry xmas to whoever it was.

  • +1

Can anyone give me a honest review of this bank?

Ive been with Westpac most of my adult life but these seems pretty good with the 3.5%pa interest on the everyday saving account along with $0 ATM fees across ALL banks with a minimum deposit of $1000 a billing cylce…as well as cashback with paywave.

I'm guessing they don't have mobile tap and go, but that's something i could live without.

    • +2

It is one of the best to be honest.

I have got accounts with Bankwest, Nab, ING, ME, HSBC and Citi; ING and Bankwest are the best (in terms of customer service and web interface) and Me bank being the worst.

Bankwest has physical branches and good customer service but their saving interest rate is pretty crap.

With good interest rate, good customer service, 2% cash back, free coffee/drink from Coles Express servo, free atm fees, no bank can beat ING at the moment =)

p.s. And no, i don't think they have tap and go app but it is relatively insignificant for me.

    • +1

The link for free coffee. It's pretty awful but meh it's free.

    • I made the switch from ING to Commbank and I couldn't be happier. All the benefits you mentioned were all pluses to me too and convinced me to switch. Now that I am with them for the last 3 months, I haven't found any issues with them.

If you don't heavily rely on westpak bricks and mortar branches, there is no reason for you not to switch. ING response time is great via email and phone. Additionally their mobile app is nice and easy to use. ING actually have loyalty bonuses like the this one, but a big bank couldnt care less in giving something back to their customers.

      • +5

        Read your first line :)

        • +1

Lol note to self, don't comment early in the morning xD

    • The savings interest is great, the ATM rebates are really useful - it's so much easier to just grab some quick cash when you don't need to worry about finding a specific ATM. Their online banking and mobile apps are better than some of the Big 4 (personally, I think CommBank has by far the best online banking systems, but ING is quite usable). I've had no particular issues with them and don't regret anything.

    • They are really good and have 24/7 Customer service and get back to you super fast if you message them on FB. Last time they had this offer, I ended up not getting the $75 because the referral code I used was a dud. But after talking to them they deposited the cash into my account.

Not sure about their Chargeback/Dispute services though.

  • I just got my $75 offer email.
Updated my referral code in my profile, please let me know if you used it! Thanks! :)

  • Thanks a lot, Cowiie!! Another $75 heading your way mate :-)

    • I appreciate that! Merry Christmas

      • Merry Christmas to you as well

  • Thanks for the tips all (didnt know about that referral section) now i do and my code added to my profile.
Santa, if you are browsing and choose to use mine i promise to spend any bonus i may receive on only the finest case of beer (to that value anyway), and I'll damn well drink every single drop of it, you can even skip my joint as you fly over in return. Deal?

  • My code is added to my referral link. Any picks???

  • Received the targeted email and updated my referral code.

  • I have a joint account me and my partner.

If a create a new account just for myself, am I eligible for this $75?
And if I refer to my partner and she also opens an account, are we both eligible for more $75?
