    • No. Neither of you are eligible as you're both already clients with a current account.

  • In regards to the $1000 deposit a month to receive interest, anyone know if we can just withdraw that $1000 back out right after and keep doing that every month? It does say no min bank balance required after all.

EDIT: Just called them up and they said that's fine and I'll still receive the monthly interest

  • Sorry noob question. I have just registered for this offer and opened an account. How do I get my own referral code to pass on to family?

    • It's targeted and received in an email. I doubt you'll get one.

      • Feared that. Thanks!

  • Updated ING promo code on my profile. Here is to hoping i get a nice little cash bonus.

  • Thanks for the post OP. Have updated my referral as I received the email as well. Anyone feel free to use it, more Christmas treats for all!

  • -1

Sorry for the repost guys, but I have a joint account me and my partner, am I eligible?

If a create a new account just for myself, am I eligible for this $75?
And if I refer to my partner and she also opens an account, are we both eligible for more $75?

  • +1

Signed up using one of the random codes, thanks OP and enjoy the holiday!

  • I am considering to switch to ING. Hope you can help with one question. Can I create a join transactional account and link two separate savings maximiser accounts to it (for me and my wife)?

    • no, you can't, you also have to create a joint saving maximizer account and link to your joint Orange everyday account.

  • I opened my account yesterday, still haven't received an email with referral code .. I filled my details in the promotion website then created my account just like it said.

Does anyone know when they will deposit your $75?
Also some mixed words on here.. Is it $1k first month only or do you have to deposit $1k every month,

    Thanks :)

    • I also signed up yesterday and from what I understand, you should deposit $1k every month for the 3.5% interest and no ATM Fees.

      Basically -
Set up your salary to go into your Ing account.
If you can't get 1k month and really need "cash", just go withdraw it from Maccas/Supermarket Eftpos to avoid the ATM fees.
Using your debit card/eftpos in stores doesn't cost you anything.
Using paywave under $100 gives you a 2% cashback as well.
They will refund you the ATM fees by the end of the month if you had deposited 1k+.

Let's say you get paid $250 and you spent $150 on the first week.
You have to deposit another $750 to receive the benefits and not another $900.

TLDR: Set up your salary to ING, stop using cash, reap the benefits.

      • Remember that you have to deposit $1000+ to get those benefits in the next month. E.g. Deposit $1000 in December to receive atm rebates and bonus interest rates in January

        • Yes although it only has to total $1000. Doesn't need to be a single transaction.

        • Sweet! And has anyone confirmed when we will receive the bonus? Thanks!

  • -1

I opened an account a month ago (without this bonus). It does not allow me to get this $75 bonus now. I called ING and they said this offer is only for new customers. Would it work if I close the current account and open a new one?

    • Unfortunately not - refer to terms at the bottom of the page

  • Just signed myself up using the random codes… enjoy whoever it was! :) Thanks OP!

  • Just added my unique code to the random list as well.

  • I cannot edit my code in My Account - Refferals!!! I press the 'ING Direct', no response?!!!

    • You'll need to make sure you are connected to OzBargain via an Australian IP address when entering your referral code. If you are still having issues, contact us here.

      Thanks

      • Thank you for your reply.
The problem is I am currently overseas…Is there anyway to add the referral code?

        • No problems, give it a try now.

        • @hamza23: Thanks heaps! I have added the code ;)

  • ING told me it's targeted offer and so I don't have a referral code to use.

  • +1

Really though..Mods should remove the op's referral link from the deal. Its a bit Unfair. The referral does get multiple $75. The new account opener however only gets one $75. Theres plenty of posts on ING's fb page where people where saying thanks for the multiple $75 cash.

    • +1

What's wrong with that? He posted it up. Plus as you said if the person getting referred only gets one, then there really is no loss at all to anyone.
Next time you can post it up and get multiple too!

      • Except that the OP will make thousands of dollars from everyone using his code.

        • -2

And? That's what he gets for posting the deal and he's not breaking any rules.

Is he breaking any moral rules? Maybe, in the eyes of some.. But I don't think he's obliged or should feel obliged to share the referrals around.

        • @illumination:

Herp derp and I would have pasted it 2 minutes later. Do you really want to promote this cut-through culture for profit? What's wrong with sharing it around so everyone gets a piece? Sheesh.

        • -1

          @watwatwat:

No need to neg, but in response…

Ok, if that's what you think, how do you suggest this be implemented? How do you set the rules? How old does an account need to be? How many posts/comments are required before one is allowed to share their links? Once you've set parameters for which members are eligible, then what? Each person gets one opportunity until everyone's had one referral, then it starts again? Some people will end up with 2 referrals, some with 1 and then you could then potentially have some of the ones who only got one referral complain that it's unfair that they missed out on a second one.

I have nothing against sharing but don't think it is necessary here and it is particularly hard to implement.

This is a deal in itself without the referrer getting any credit (i.e. If it was the person signing up to an account getting $75, referrer getting $0). You only have an issue with it because the referrer gets something out of it.

It really is up to Ozbargain and/or ING if it's (multiple referrals/sharing of the referral code in OP) allowed, and neither of them have said no or tried to stop it. If they decide to, then everything I've said is invalid.

Besides, on what basis do you, myself or anyone else on this website deserve some of this $75 referral credit?

        • @illumination:

Besides, on what basis do you, myself or anyone else on this website deserve some of this $75 referral credit?

Did I not just tell you? I would have submitted the deal straight afterwards if nobody else had.

Anyway, ozbargain already has a system for this that wasn't used for this post. The parameter is that everyone who is a member can throw in their code and random chance that you get rewarded.

Hell, if I was the one who had submitted this deal, I would feel guilty taking all this money for myself.

        • -1

          @watwatwat:

Ok, but so was I, and I'm sure many other people may have potentially posted it shortly before/after us too. Should we all throw our hands up in the air and say we should get a share of it, because we were all gonna post it up within a 10 minute period?

That random referral system is still active for this current deal and it's up to whoever is signing up to determine whether to directly "reward" the OP or randomly reward an Ozbargain member (or no one at all).

If you had posted it and you felt bad about taking all the money yourself, you could always just choose to withhold the code.. or remove it after a while, if you are really that much for "fairness".

Look, I don't have anything against your pro-fairness campaign, but similarly see nothing wrong with what OP has done. That's why I'm defending him, and saying what you could have done, had you been the one to post the deal.

In all honesty, your reaction to this seems like one more of bitterness/jealousy, based on how you say you were gonna post it shortly after he did. That's really the crux of why you're so bothered by this whole thing, because you know that the difference between you getting some (a lot) of referral credit and hardly any was the couple of minutes that separated OP posting this and you posting this.

    • Exactly my point and I was downvoted on the first page. OP will prob make thousands from this.

      • Exactly my point and I was downvoted on the first page.

        This isn't Reddit.

        But anyway, good for OP.

  • Any idea when the $75 will arrive?

  • I previously had an ING account but I hadn't completed the verification so while I could login my account wasn't actually "opened". Since the conditions only say "if you've previously held an Everyday account", if I make a new account and actually open it would I still qualify for the $75?

    • Don't think so. You have a pre existing account, and just because you haven't verified your identity doesn't mean you don't have an account.

      • Well, in the e-mail I got a while ago it says this:

"We were delighted to receive your Orange Everyday application. However, we couldn't open your new account because we weren't able to verify your identity."

In my new account I can see that I have an Everyday/Savings account, but not in the one that hasn't been verified. Is there a way to check if you've qualified or do you just get the $75 at some random time?

  • If you have previously held an Orange Everyday bank account between 14 December 2013 and 14 December 2015, then you are ineligible for this offer

  • Ok so I opened an account last month and deposited $1k. Am still awaiting the $75. I cut up my card when I received it and didn't bother to activate it since I don't plan on using the account. Can't see anywhere in the T&Cs where it says you need to activate the card. I haven't verified my identity either but they haven't asked me too. Hope it's all good.

  • opened an account but have been a member previously, will see how i go.

  • Not everyone gets a unique referral link is that true?

  • Anyone got their $75 yet?

    • Still waiting on mine. Registered on 18 Dec 2015. Transferred on 21 Dec. And I meet all the criteria. They do say, "For eligible applicants, the $75 will be deposited into the applicant's Orange Everyday the month after you meet all applicable Eligibility Criteria." So the $75 should come in this month.

      • Did you ever receive a confirmation saying you would receive the $75, or are you just waiting for it to come? Wondering if I should have received anything to confirm it would come.

        • No, I didn't get any email. Just banking on the fact I satisfy the eligibility criteria and ING stating that the $75 will be deposited the month after you deposit $1K into the account. Btw, still nothing :(.

  • I've just received the same offer from ING again with the same referral code as the December email, so maybe not enough people have taken up the offer yet!

    • +3

Same, except there seems to be a new condition :/

If you use this offer in a manner that is not satisfactory to us or in line with the intent of the offer (such as sharing your referral code on the ‘OzBargain’ website or other similar websites), we may refuse to pay the $75 cash bonus (including in respect of any or all referrals made in relation to the offer). This includes conduct on your part which is designed to undermine the fair and intended operation of the offer.

      • Wow, so there is - didn't see that as I deleted the email. Just retrieved it from the "trash" and read the Ts & Cs … interesting development indeed!!

      • I find that strange. I thought the intended operation of the offer is to get new customers, in which posting on OzBargain would meet. Unless they are tracking word of mouth versus their own advertising campaign.

      • (such as sharing your referral code on the ‘OzBargain’ website or other similar websites)

they dont want professional referrals ;)

      • Unlucky to all the people who used the original posters referral code. It'll clearly be blocked by ING cause it's sticking out like the dogs balls on this post.

      • Targeting OzBargain directly, that's not very nice of them!

I wonder if they've gone through (clicking the random referral link 1000s of times) and cancelled everyone's code, or only the OP's. I've removed mine just in case as I did refer a few friends outside of here.

  • Updated profile with new referral code if anyone wants to use mine!

  • thanks, updated my referral code from the link.

  • -1

updated my referral code after finding out they wont give you $75 if you sign up without one!!

    • Please explain? where did you hear that they won't give you $75 without a referral code.

      • well when i first saw this post i signed up but i didnt have a code entered as i wasnt sure if i could reuse one from this thread so they said no $75 without a code

then now almost 4 weeks later they sent another email to me giving me my own code so got the wife to sign up now using that code

        • +1

Wow but thats not a part of the requirements though… it does say non-mandatory.

  • still waiting on mine.

  • I just opened an orange everyday account unaware of this offer. Has this happened to anyone?
Do you think if I call them up they'll make an exception for me as I signed up after their offer start date or did I just lose $75 :p

  • Thinking about transferring from CBA to ING! But got confused:

    1) Can I get referral bonus on top of this $75 bonus ($150 in total)?
    2) I found referral codes/system have just been changed. How can I get new referral codes from OZbargain?
    3) If I open everyday+saving maximiser, do I need to deposit minimum $2000 (=1000+1000) to be eligible for all benefits? Do I need to open everyday account first and then saving account?
    4) Is ING Direct safe? They've got only online branches and no city branches. It's hard to trust virtual banks :(

    • +1

      1) Nope unless a family member or someone is giving you a code. You'll get $75 and referer gets $75

      2) You can click the random generator or ask someone to pm you :)

      3) Nope you only need to deposit into the everyday account and you can select create a savings account during the application (very worth it: 3.5%interest)

      4) Safer than mebank etc and don't forget that up to $250,000 of your deposits are secured by the Aus gov in case the banks close.
Also, they use VISA for their debit cards so no stress on those purchases

  • Has this offer definitely expired ? Read thru 3 pages of comments but can't find anything confirming the 4000 referral quota was reached.

    • As far as I'm aware this offer has not expired - no one has received their $75 yet so cannot say if the 4000 quota has been reached.

      • The deal was marked Expired yesterday so I wondered if someone knew it was gone for good, mod changed it back to Currenr now, all good!

      • No one has got and may not get the referral due to the promo being leaked on ozbargain. Read the new terms and conditions, they specifically refer to ozbargain

          • The OP marked it as expired yesterday afternoon (no idea why)
          • Have removed expiry as it says Jan 31.

Do you have a link to the new T&Cs? Don't see any on the ones linked in the deal.

        • @neil:

It's in the deal that got deleted as dupe just now

It was mentioned in the comments

        • @easternculture:

Someone mentioned they received those terms in an email but nothing mention on the site. If someone has received the email perhaps they can upload a screenshot.

        • @neil:

Probably pm amar,. The OP who posted the other deal

        • @neil: I received a call from ING Direct stating that if anyone uses the links on Ozbargain, they will not receive the $75 bonus as of a week ago

        • @neil:

          copied from the email

If you use this offer in a manner that is not satisfactory to us or in line with the intent of the offer (such as sharing your referral code on the ‘OzBargain’ website or other similar websites), we may refuse to pay the $75 cash bonus (including in respect of any or all referrals made in relation to the offer). This includes conduct on your part which is designed to undermine the fair and intended operation of the offer.

        • @neil:

Can you please edit the post to reflect that OPs referral code mentioned in the post and using any referral code in the ozbargain database may result in disqualification from the promo

          Thanks

        • +1

          @cowiie:

I received a call from ING Direct stating that if anyone uses the links on Ozbargain, they will not receive the $75 bonus as of a week ago

When did you receive the call? Last week

Why didn't you say anything ?

        • @neil:

I received the email (the referral code was the same as the one they'd previously sent in December) and the Ts & Cs are as follows (I've highlighted the relevant paragraph re OzBargain):

Orange Everyday $75 Bonus Payment Offer (December) – Conditions for the referrer

The referrer and a friend can each receive $75 when the friend:
          • registers for the promotion using the referrer’s unique Friend Code (code to be entered, exactly how it appears),
          • opens an Orange Everyday bank account (using the same details used to register for the promotion with us), and
          • deposits $1,000 or more within a calendar month from an external account into any personal ING DIRECT account in the friend’s name (excluding Living Super),
          collectively the 'Eligibility Criteria'.

The offer commences 14 December 2015 and is only available to the first 4,000 eligible applicants who satisfy the applicable Eligibility Criteria by 31 January 2016.

The referrer can receive $75 each time a friend satisfies the Eligibility Criteria set out above. So, for example, if 2 of your friends each satisfy all the conditions set out above by 31 January 2016, you can receive $150 into your Orange Everyday bank account. The friend can receive at most only one $75 payment under the offer (this includes any payment made to an account jointly held by your friend). Friends who have registered for the separate ING DIRECT ‘Orange Everyday New Customer Movie Offer’ are ineligible for this promotion.

If your friend has previously held an Orange Everyday bank account between 14 December 2013 and 13 December 2015, then both you and your friend are ineligible for this offer. For eligible applicants, the $75 will be deposited into the applicant’s Orange Everyday the month after the friend meets all applicable Eligibility Criteria. Where the eligible applicant holds the Orange Everyday account in a joint capacity, only one payment of $75 will be made to that account under the offer. For privacy reasons, ING DIRECT will not tell you which friend registered and/or met the applicable Eligibility Criteria.

This offer is available for a limited time only and is not applicable in conjunction with any other promotional offer unless expressly indicated. ING DIRECT reserves the right to withdraw this offer at any time at its sole discretion. If withdrawn, ING DIRECT will honour all registrations entered before the offer is withdrawn, provided that applicants satisfy the Eligibility Criteria.

  • Do not use ozbargain links to sign up to the offer. Go to http://ingdirect.com.au/refer

ING Direct will not pay $75 for new signups from 8 January 2015 if you use the Ozbargain links.

    • I received my credit today mate, opened after 8th Jan, used OzB link!

    • Have updated the deal with a warning.
    • Removed OPs code from description.
    • OP has removed their code from the automated referral system
    • We will either be editing the referral block or removing ING entirely from the system (currently discussing the issue internally).
    • why not just have the random button provide the referral ID and leave it for people to manually navigate to the ING page

      • so mods can avoid a potential cease and desist letter from ING solicitors

      • The system currently doesn't do that.

Also, the links we send to ING (and other stores) are not sending information from where they were clicked from.

        • Also, the links we send to ING (and other stores) are not sending information from where they were clicked from.

But they can tell where the traffic is coming from to their site.

        • @easternculture:

Just cleared up. Yes, Analytics or their web stats program may be able to see where the link is coming from. Airbnb referral links are blocked if you click on any of those. If you however copy + paste the link into a new browser then the link will work.

We will see if we can put an anonomiser into the links for future issues.

  • +1

But it says limited to 4000 customers, We don't know how many customers have joined up.

    • I received an email with referral code back in December and then received a second email (with the same referral code) about a week ago so if they're still pushing the promotion, I'd assume they haven't reached the 4000 mark yet.

  • Well I used the random referral code, is there still a chance?

  • Does anyone know how long does it take for the $75 to be credited after the $1000 deposit?

    • +1

I guess it's a wait and see. I'll update when I receive something

      • Hello! Did you find this out? Was it at the beginning of the next calendar month (assuming fro your date of posting, the beginning of February?)

        • +1

I got the bonus in early feb.

  • Does the random referral link utilize DISTINCT at the backend query to weed-out duplicate submissions from people using multiple ozbargain accounts?

    • Our system detects duplicate referral links. It's a great way of getting your account banned. :)

  • Cool!
By the way, ING seems to have taken out the Ozbargain reference in the latest Terms and Conditions

    • It was in the latest email but not mentioned on the website according to others.
