    C&C'd (VIC) a bottle of Aberlour 12YO Scotch Whisky 700mL for $45… Happy days!!!

    Was already stocked up with previous 1st Choice/AMEX offers, and Dan Murphy's Made in Japan Asahi case which would have seen me through Xmas and New Year, but thought another Aberlour couldn't hurt for $45.

      Yep, stores should be pretty quick, half hour to an hour usually

    • No, I took my Mum with me when I collected mine. I'd received the sms, she had not, and they were both ready.

      • Someone may have forgot to click it, we print, pack, then click.. it's literally a race to be the fastest and the clock doesnt stop til you get the sms!

      Orders are being returned to the call centre, who are probably now backlogged phoning customers. We've been told to pack 1 and return the rest to the call centre as their only valid once per customer

    Possibly stupid question - how does the system recognise whether it's your first order or not? I was able to get to the last stage of a second order with the same discount using the same details, but didn't submit. Would more than one order with the code be possible?

      Yes, but orders with the same name using the code more than once are being cancelled

        WTF? What happened? Need a bit better explanation for breaking your own terms and conditions than simply 'ozbargained'.

          Mate, i simply work for them. If you can't work out why it had to be pulled when store teams are busy enough and people are putting through 100 $1 bottle orders then i will be happy to give you directions to the nearest Dans.

          Surely First Choice Liquor would have realised that having this deal with no set minimum spend would invite people to use it as you described. They should have also realised that Christmas is a busy time of year and factored that in when releasing this deal.

          It's just a bad look.

          I understand all that and the deal was clearly a disaster. Thing to remember, especially at this time of year is that it's not the stores fault. We cop it pretty hard, for example today i did a normal weeks sales, we do have a lot on our plates and a lot of irate customers for multiple reasons. I don't consider this a reason to not shop with us. If everyone wants to keep Dans honest and prices low, First Choice needs to be in the market.

    Pretty poor form to have a promo and re-neg on it, hope they honor paid orders as I'm still waiting for a SMS from orders yesterday made at 7pm.

      same issue here …. store for pickup has been trading for over 5 hours and isnt exactly a high volume one and yet no SMS …. charged the CC and all.

        • i left feedback on glo. as it turns out a few hours later i get a call. apparently the store i selected had no stock and no one bothered to notify me. but the call centre did transfer my order to another store close by which did show stock so now i can go collect it apparently, but i havent received an SMS from the new store as yet (mind you Xmas eve i doubt i will few for a long time).

          at least the resolved the issue (for now) but it appears the have some serious system failures. you reckon internally there should have been a flagged alert for an online order with no stock for C&C wouldnt you.

    Poor show First Choice. If this is the way you're wanting to represent yourselves - as basically liars - (code valid til the end of the month) then fair play to you.. But I for one won't be shopping there in the future due to this crap.

      Considering their prices I wouldn't normally shop there anyway, uncle Dan's is always cheaper. This one time 1st choice is cheaper with a code and they dick me like dcksmith.

      • I have quite the opposite experience when it comes to prices. Two items I bought were (and still are) significantly cheaper than Dan's.

        Jacobs Creek sparking Rose $9.95 @ Dan, $8 @ 1stChoice. Annie' Lane Riesling $14.99 at Dan's, $11 at 1stChoice.

        In fact, I wandered through Dan's yesterday and did not find anything worth the price they charged. Ended up price matching 1st Choice to get a well priced drop.

    • Not too impressed with the way the 1st Choice site works.
      Started placing an order just before midnight - On the Order Confirmation screen the price jumps by $10 without warning.

      do not agree, went to 1stchoice this morning to pick my one and only order, the manager told me that someone placed 25 orders for $1 each, they had to cancel them all and stop the voucher, some people here never know when to stop!

  • well i just called them about my order that was placed 11pm last night. apparently they didnt get any orders go through their store (port Melb) last night and told me to take it up with customer hotline… ?

    Got an email about multiple orders but only placed one!
    No SMS yet. Not sure what is going on.

    Rang them, Cancelled.
    Apparently breach of T & C as this code is only for people that have an account but never ordered.
    Bad PR move IMHO they can get stuffed will remember this and avoid spend there unless there is an extreme bargain.
    They can get f-ed.

      this happened to me as well, but their excuse was " we made a mistake, we'll put your order through again but you won't be able to click n collect til next week"

    I love the OZB community but its seems there's more and more people taking the piss which wrecks it for others.

    This type of behavior creates an attitude to "not share" specific deals so one can make sure their order goes through

      yeah whoever did the T&C's didn't do their job, having a number of ways that one could easily take the piss is what frustrates me….should of had a min order value and had an identifier for household/name/card
      that way everyone's happy and people have a positive view of 1st choice (a place i would of never shopped previously)

    • Correct it was bombarded with multiple orders from the same person in a lot of stores. Had everyone just taken advantage of the code once it may not have been pulled, or atleast not as quickly. It was raised from store level as multiple orders with the same name were flowing through, stores assumed it was an error so rightly escalated it.

  • 1) Used code for my first order last night for a $11 item, click and collect at VIC PORT MELBOURNE STORE.

    2) Got a email today saying something like they cancelled my orders as I cannot use code for multiple orders.(BUT I ONLY ORDERED 1 THING, AND WAS MY FIRST ORDER!!!)

    3) Called them up this afternoon to be told they made a mistake and that he would put the order through again but I can't collect until next week!!! DISAPPOINTED AND ANGRY , poor form FIRST CHOICE!!!

    In saying that when we launched click and collect 3 weeks ago there was a 2000 bonus flybuys points offer that weekend which was when i recieved the most orders and actually had customers apologising for using it to get the points!
