    • I do not have any of the above mentioned (still happily using FHD plasma's) but have you tried updating firmware? Just a thought.

    • Sounds like a turn off. Which Sony model? I read this is a common problem with Sony's.

  • I have been looking at buying a new TV recently, still have an old 20" flatscreen CRT TV which other than not having the right width to watch most TV (unless reducing screen size to accommodate full width) produces good clear picture - from any angle, no blur, and good sound. Hence never been in a hurry to upgrade. But now looking at 50", gradually convinced myself to go bigger than 40/43" which I was initially considering. I sit at 3.5 - 4m away from TV. Will picture be clearer on a smaller screen with smaller pixels at same distance? I will definitely go 100 Hz native to minimize blur and have narrowed selection down to Samsung J6200 or Sony KDLW800c. I have considered Samsung JU6400 4K if price difference reduced to near nothing as I guess 4K will become cheaper and the norm, I see some improvement in clarity on the J6200, but not sure what was being broadcast at the time. I will use TV for watching free to air 99.9% of time.

Can anyone give me advice/feedback on the above queries from their experience.

  • Can someone please attach sony 75" UHD receipt?

  • The 75" and 65" 8500c's appear to be out of stock.
    Unable to order online.
Knew I should have placed the order earlier.

    • Yeah … saved money … that made my decision easier. My target price for a good 4K 65 inch was $2000 … the Sony was close with $289 over my limit (delivered). Nearly bought one but I think it's good to stick to your limit.

Waiting for next year and my trusty 50 inch Samsung Plasma - 7 years old will survive another year with amazing picture quality and great blacks.

    • Oh, that's good news and bad news. That means they do have stock counter in the site, unlike some other online retailer letting you to order even they have no stock and put you to forever waiting for backorder. Bad news for those haven't made up their mind earlier.

      • And looks like the stock counter is not working as people get cancellations for their orders. I am over the boxing day sales … spent 0.00.

  • Just bought the Samsung 60" UHD for $1798. Amazing deal. Went to JB and they completely refused to price match. JB staff member said they offer a 2 year warranty on the TV. CCA covers all TVs under statutory warranty for longer than that one would think. Something ironic about buying from Bing Lee on my phone in the JB store…

    • McBanjo I assume it is the Samsung JS7200 that you bought? I am too keen on this and Scraggers (half way up on this page) has posted some positive comments about this model. If you have more information on this model then please share.

  • Thanks, Trent86. Just bought the FHD 75 inch Sony. Couldn't justify the extra for the 4k because my viewing distance is over 3m.

FYI, if Bing Lee starts stocking the 4k 75 inch Sony again for the same price, make sure you guys jump at it. Went to the Good Guys this morning and they're still selling it for $5198.

  • I phoned the GG last week as they seem to have the majority of TV specials going back through deals listed on this site. I queried their last Sony deal which was very cheap and asked if it was Sony backed - it was, and asked if prices would be any better closer to to run out of model and he said YES, much! He indicated from February on prices would be reduced in lead up to April/May new model releases. A guy in HN (who said he worked for Samsung) suggested from Boxing day on, but prices would not be much more than 20% off at any time. They have already had some specials below this! David Jones (DSE) is selling Sony cheaper than anyone, and at about 36% off RRP. Ie KDL50W800c @ $1018 and KDL43W800c @ $831 - although out of stock. (I wonder if this is legit - cheap price but you cant buy one!) Also noticed DSE does not list Sony on their site, only available at DJ's - brand separation for the two sites?

    • So better deals on Sony in Feb eh. Guess I can hold on little longer. Plasma still going alright.

  • Looks like this item is out of stock, can't order online :(

    Sony KDL65W850C 65" FHD 3D SMART LED 100Hz TV $1708(binglee.com.au)

    • +1

Yeah all Sony's bar 1 are out of stock online, the others are available though :)

  • EBAY10 code is not working for me. Anyone in the same boat?

    • Just tried it and it worked, what are you trying to use it on?

        • that shows out of stock for me

        • @TRENT86: went to penrith (nsw) store and was told that they will have 2 in stocks by monday and the guy said he would hold 1 for me if i show him the receipt from ebay.

        • @ashikk: so you can get to cart online with that tv? I don't even have an add to cart option so can't test but it works on the LG in main link

        • @TRENT86:On thier ebay store yes but not from website though.I think I figured out, Im not registered on bing lee website and was trying to buy from Bing Lee ebay store.

  • Just got an email saying they can't fulfill my order for the Sony KD65X8500c and are refunding my money.

Placed my order at 10:30am. Very annoyed and let them know as such.

Anyone else who ordered this unit receive same email?

    • Gee that sucks :( I hope for others sakes that it's just an oversell and not a refund because of the code, esp since it's still working

  • My order for the 65" Sony UHD got cancelled as well, and my order was placed at 2am, makes me wonder how much stock do they actually have?

    • I'm awaiting their reply to my email to see how they handle my concerns over their stock management and the potential 4 days to refund my money which probably means I miss out on any other deals currently out there.

      • Please update back here on how that goes. This whole thing is very annoying though.

        • Will do. I'm not expecting a resolution that meets my satisfaction. I expect many are in the same boat as us.

  • Ordered my 65" Sony UHD earlier this morning and have also had my order cancelled.

  • Is it normal nowadays expect orders be cancelled and if is honored then it will be a good surprise?

  • Not the OP's fault but this deal has the smell of Kogan and Dick Smith to it.

Orders placed at 2am this morning being cancelled late this afternoon.

    Bing Lee shame…

    • Is this the Sony 65'' UHD?

  • Seems cancellation is with sony 65 inchies. I didn't receive any mail so far for my 75". I really hope they honor.

    • +1

I ordered the 75" UHD, just checked my ordered status, it says docket created, it seems that the order has gone through.

      • Docket has been created for me too, yeee . I think they are low stock on 65's.

        • Oh, they created docket then cancel your order? That sucks.

  • I successfully ordered SONY - KD65X8500C - 65" ULTRA HD LED SMART 3D WITH ANDROID TV from binglee yesterday at 9:30am and received their email at 5:00pm saying they are our of stock? Is this acceptable reason for canceling successfully paid order?

    • Yes

    • Unfortunately yes. It has happened before many times, especially with Dick.

  • +1

I wonder if the cancellations mainly happen for interstate purchases whilst most of the NSW orders are fulfilled? It'll make sense to allocate stock to in state purchases rather than out of state purchases since it'll mean less shipping cost incurred to the retailer.

    • But then what is the reason to sell it online. When i got my cancelation they said sony is running out of stock.

  • Dang it, was gonna order the Panasonic CX700 with Ebay
    Coupon.

Guess ill wait for a better deal.

  • Missed a call at 12:04pm from Bing Lee on one number, saying to call back on their 1300 number to arrange shipping. The 1300 number has been engaged the last three times I tried in 10 minutes and the number they called from is set to After Hours mode and tells you to call back during business hours. At least that seems to be confirmation that they haven't cancelled my order (Samsung 60")

    • I got a call from Binglee too this morning, to schedule a delivery for my Sony 75 UHD tmw. So my order hasn't been cancelled.

      • edit: nevermind, I wrote the number down wrong. calling the right number works

Oh cool. Are you in the NSW region or external? I'm in the ACT and I'm hoping I haven't potentially delayed my delivery by very long by having missed that call. About an hour later and this 1300 call center is still coming up as engaged for me.

        • I m in NSW. So you are getting the 60", it seems the cancellation happens on the 65". You will get yours soon.

  • My order for Samsung SUHD got cancelled, i had to post this. This is ridicolous thry obviously barely had any stock.

Hands down the worst boxing day ive ever seen, the prices overall in most vendors where no where as aggressive as they used to be, in most cases the prices are more expensive compared to recent discounts. The good guys boxing day sale was a joke, you call that knockout sale?

As a result i have spent $0 this boxing day.Maybe a goood thing but i really need a new TV

  • you can still get the sony tv's … just go to a sony kiosk and ask them to price match .. you also get free delivery.

    • +1

Sony online, Harvey Norman, Domayne are all having the similar sales, just without the binglee 10% eBay discount, but still good deal.

  • My 75" UHD is being delivered on Tuesday.

  • Picked up my 75" FHD LCD today. Thanks for the post OP, awesome bargain! 😁👍

  • Has anyone extended the warranty on the TV? Can we extend it after buying from Binglee or Sony?

    • Binglee is giving 3 year extended warranty for $389. Is it worth getting from them or I can get it from Sony directly as well?
My credit card will give additional 1 year only. Not sure if it is sufficient or not.

      • I suggest you go with the additional 1 year CC warranty, and then use Australian Consumer Law (ACL) should any problems arise after that.

Under the ACL, automatic consumer guarantees apply to many products and services you buy regardless of any other warranties suppliers sell or give to you.

        Read more at:
        http://www.accc.gov.au/consumers/consumer-rights-guarantees/…

        • But after 1 year cc warranty , manufacturer warranty will be over 12 months old and might not repair it easily.
My previous LG TV had 5 years warranty and it stopped working after 4.5 years.

        • @Gaggy:

ACL will cover a product for major faults for the reasonable life of a product. However, with ACL, if the retailer/supplier plays hardball and refuses to fix the problem, the onus is on the consumer to escalate the issue with the Office of Fair Trading, etc.

If you prefer to pay for an extended warranty, it's your choice.

        • @1bug: Thanks for your inputs. Will read more about it and take decision.

        • @1bug: $389 was for 4 year extended making it 5 year extended warranty. I have purchased it.
For ACL, I think I would be able to go far as 3-4 year max. Happy for 5th year peace of mind.Approx $100 per year.
Taken Sony are expensive to repair and TV is over $3500, I took the decision. It took the price of the TV to approx $4k mark. But happy with the decision.
