Google is currently offering $100 off Nexus 5X and 6P through the Play Store with free shipping. The 16GB 5X seems like a good price.

5X 16GB $479, 32GB $559

Not sure if the 6P is a good deal, but here are the details:

6P 32GB $799, 64GB $899, 128GB $999 https://store.google.com/product/nexus_6p

thanks just downgrade from my 6s plus~

    • really, thats a real downgrade all around?

  • This is apparently the new RRP.

  • It could be just back to school sales.

  • I can confirm that Google's own warranty service is great. They gave me a brand new Nexus 4 when I told them about a small fault (loose button).

However I suspect there will be a new Nexus device replacing both of these soon, hence the price drop.

IIRC, the Nexus 4 also dropped $100 in price right before the release of the Nexus 5.

    • These only came out in October last year though.

Why note go for a flagship Moto X Style instead?

    Is Motomaker available in Aus?

    • I would love to, but we're talking $800ish for the Style IF Vodafone would let you buy it outright (which it seems they won't in most stores). That's more than 6P on sale for no real advantage (unless you happen to like IPS which I do, or absolutely need SD card).

If the Style were close to the ~$570 US retail price I'd get one for sure. I know that's for 16GB, but since it takes SD cards I'd rather have the cheapness. There are actually some near-new ones floating around ebay for ~$500, but they're from the US and don't support bands 28 & 40 for LTE.

Oh and no, we can't get motomaker. Sigh.

      • Oh ok I see, because here in the UK, the style is cheaper than 6P. Besides the battery capacity being less, I think it's a better phone overall.

I was able to customize my order (motomaker) for the 64gb cost £404 delivered. I could've probably waited for a sale but I needed a new phone.

    Meh Andriod, Apple for life.

  • Motorola for life, Ericsson for life or is it Nokia for life? Phone brands don't seem to have much of a life. lol

Just bought the 6P as I was planning to buy it soon, but bit disappointed that there is actually no gst included in this price. I buy phones through salary sacrifice and the GST is refunded so it is basically a 9% discount on any item. Yet this discount doesn't now exist now. I could have bought the phone from Mobilecity for $784 and got the GST 'discount' taking it down to around $720, and saved about $80 from the google play cost. And I'd get a free case and earphones too.

At this stage, I'm still trying to find out if I can even get an Australian tax invoice - so far they've only offered me a VAT invoice. If I can't I'll have to cancel the order.

  • I bought two 5x's for us. Very excited to get them! Especially since I found a nexus 5 with a broken screen from ages ago and turned it on (my husband's iphone 4s completely died) and it is FASTER than the s5 I am using now. I never really realised how bad certain Android UIs are til now.
